It's a beautiful, sophisticated room, perfect for small weddings, art openings or corporate mixer type things, just to name a few. Second, I'm not an architect, but I love Miami and architecture:design in general so signing up for the mailing list has proven to be a great way to learn about cool goings-on. So far I've attended an architectural tour of Downtown and seen a great DJ play on a Friday evening. This is why I love Miami.

The building has room for 12 artists studios and 5 offices. They hold monthly events that include outreach programs, live music, and business networking. I popped in during a recent visit to Little Haiti to do a little Mother's Day shopping. Parking is somewhat difficult to come by but I ended up finding a spot on the street several blocks away. I had a nice walk down Calle 8 and it was worth the extra effort to get here. On the day I visited only the first floor of Futurama was open but there was still a lot to look at. They have something for every budget from costume jewelry for a few dollars to art work that costs several hundred dollars. I saw tropical clothing, dominoes, mugs, crystals, magnets, and even Cuban coffee. I really loved Inna Malostovker Photographer. Her artistic perspective of nature is beautiful. Art fans and those who love artisan crafts should add Futurama to their list of places to shop in Little Havana.

The museum was one of eight in the United States selected to showcase the Freedom Plane National Tour of historic documents including a draft of the Constitution, the Treaty of Paris and the Articles of Association. The exhibit is on through July 5, 2026 in celebration of the nation's 250th birthday. Parking in the cultural center garage is validated for a reduced rate of five dollars.

I will say, the grounds are absolutely delightful, especially if you go in the Springtime as we did where flowers are all in full bloom, that alone is worth the ticket price. The architecture is exquisite! A feast for the eyes in so many ways. When we came to visit, they were doing renovations. You could see the water damage on the roof and walls, probably caused by one of the many Summer storms, because of that the tickets were at a discount that day but we were still able to appreciate the beauty of Viscaya. There are two cafe's. One in the garden of the main house, and another across the street where farm animals use to be kept. Surprisingly, the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The day we were there, a wedding was going to take place and there was a lot of commotion going on. Fancy tables being set up, fine china, crystal glasses, the whole works. We asked a security guard how much it costs to have a wedding reception there and he said: "Just to rent the space, no tables, no nothing, starting price is 100k". So if you have 100k lying around, and plan to get married soon, this could be an option for you. Jokes aside though; I'd definitely visit again.

The property and history is pretty amazing. As many other reviews have mentioned, a good portion of the rooms and structures are closed for renovations. They have reduced the entry to $20 from $25 but it still was a little disappointing that the casino building and several rooms in the house were closed. Being that it was the offseason, some of the gardens did seem to be past their peak. We hope to return when everything is open in season and tour the whole facility.

Wow, this little museum blew me away…read more CBS4 recently interviewed a member of the 2506 Brigade and after viewing the segment I knew I had to visit. It is free and you can plan to spend 1-2 hours there. I parked in the lot next to the museum which apparently is not theirs but the docent gave me a parking pass, otherwise there is street parking. The building was purchased by one of the brigade members in the 80's when the property foreclosed. They will be closing in December 2023 for a major renovation and upgrade. Currently there are only 2 rooms to the museum, a large library area as you enter and the room that houses all the artifacts. There are walls of pictures, in the center those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the conflict and on the side walls, those who have passed since. The docent, Julio, as well as another employee spent a lot of time with me individually telling me about the museum, some of the veterans as well as the chronology of the conflict. I learned more during my visit than I had in school. There were 2 of the veterans at the museum during my visit. They show a 20 minute excerpt of the documentary 'Veritas' which shows interviews with brigade members. I recommend visiting the Bay of Pigs museum, and I look forward to visiting once the renovations and upgrades are complete.

It's a free museum that wants its guests to learn what really happened to the American soldiers that were there in 1961. If one walks in, they could glance around and leave in a few minutes without being impressed. However, we received a guided tour, and we were almost late for our next tour because we were so interested in what we were learning that we could have stayed longer. My oldest son is a freshman in college, and my twin sons are juniors in high school. Along with my wife and I learned so much in an hour and a half, it was incredible. The tour took us around the back room using the numerous pictures to fill in the stories that were being shared. The day we were there, there were three gentlemen at the museum who participated in the invasion. We heard their first hand accounts of what they encountered leading up to the invasion what happened when they were captured by Castro (plus their feelings on why they thought they were captured) and what happened in captivity plus their life afterwards. We even saw some of their pictures of these men while they were prisoners. This museum is a place to learn history that isn't taught anywhere by people who were there. It is a free couple of hours that I will remember for probably the rest of my life. Anyone in Miami with an interest in our military or history needs to go here for an hour or two. There is free parking on the side of the museum in an open grass lot. Next time my family is in Miami, we will go here again just to thank these guys for their service to our country another time. More people need to know about this place!!!!

You will most likely encounter blaring Cuban music either from speakers or a live band throughout the bar and restaurant that are heavily decorated with Cuban memorabilia. There is so much chaos in the decor, but it's hard to care since you have so much to do. You obviously need to get a Mojito or three, and fall into step with all the other patrons who will inevitably begin dancing if they aren't already dancing. Whatever drinks with rum or tequila and fresh fruit juices that your taste buds fancy, the bar will make it happen for you. If you're on a crawl of Calle Ocho or are looking for an excuse to do so, make sure to come by here for the before, during or after! I'll see you there.

Vintage Sinatra photo over the secondary bar. There are cool paintings and memorabilia to see all over this spacious bar/restaurant/musuem/performance center/cigar store. Very eclectic place to visit. We hit up this place during happy hour. From 4-8 PM, they have $6 beers, $8 Cuba Libres, $10 Mojitos and croquetas. They are very friendly inside and the paintings are vibrant and fun. We were told that all the paintings inside are for sale. They had a wonderful four man band playing music at the front. We had beers before dinner and more here after dinner. I would definitely visit here again during happy hour. Give yourself some time to explore all the paintings and memorabilia in here. A very fun, eclectic place.

Founded in 2005 by Naomi Wilzig, the World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM). She teamed up with the Kinsey Institute, The Research Center for the Cultural History of Sexuality at Humboldt University in Berlin & Florida International University (FIU) -- College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts (CARTA). There were many galleries with comfortable seating spaces and clean restrooms. We spent about an hour here wandering around the maze of 20 small rooms. We passed lots of international photographs, wood carvings, sculptures and paintings. There was a room filled with Miami Vice memorabilia; photos, clothing & tchotchkes. The World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM) presented Mark Kostabi: Revisited, a striking exhibition of 14 new, large-scale, faceless paintings created for the museum. While living & working in Rome, he explored themes of eroticism, technology & the paradoxes of digital intimacy. Highlighted were sexting amid digital distraction, and a surreal portrayal of 3 nude women taking a group selfie; juxtaposing joy, sensuality & technology. Gorge Daniell presented gay themes through photographs & paintings of glamorous celebrities, and scenes of everyday life in pre-and-post-war America. His works were featured in major magazines, including "Time," "Life" and "Esquire," and was also displayed in the Smithsonian, The Museum of Modern Art and the Chicago Institute of Art.
