The staff here are excited to share the joy of the area. It's not just Jeffersonville here! Go and explore. They have Clarksville and New Albany! But that's as far as we have ventured. As we make our way through the most of our new city, town, neighborhood, and community development this place was packed with al sorts of details. Do you need a reason why? You can tell they really love the town/city that they're representing. I love people who genuinely love things. The Southern Indiana Visitor Center definitely has people behind the counter who love Southern Indiana. They made me feel even more psyched than I already was to explore the area. They offered tips on what to see, what to eat, the best places to park, and advice about whether or not I should bundle up before heading out on my walk. (Apparently, I might have looked like I needed more layers.) There are also dozens of brochures and booklets about area attractions, which you can take for free. Basically, if you're thinking of visiting the area, this is the place to visit. The Southern Indiana Visitor Center also has a little gift shop full of Indiana paraphernalia, including magnets, candles, bags, artwork, books, cutting boards and lots more. You can also find merch for the local soccer team, Southern Indiana FC. This visitor center is located in downtown Jeffersonville, within walking distance of the pedestrian bridge that will take you to Louisville.

The walking tour starts at the Visitor's center and is an easy neighborhood stroll that includes an explanation of how Columbus became a center of modern architecture and includes entrance to the church that started the ball rolling. The tour of the Miller house also starts at the Visitor's Center, takes you to the Miller house in a van, and shows you this outstanding example of midcentury modern architecture, left just as it was by the family that built it and lived there. The Miller house is otherwise inaccessible - you can't even see it from the street. Both tours were lead by excellent guides and both tours were well worth the ticket price. You don't need a background in architecture to appreciate these tours. Plan ahead and book your tours early.

One staff member played a film for us (alone) to learn about the local architecture. They offer guided tours of the city and the Miller house. Reservations are required for the tours, which fill up quickly. They have information on their website about the tours so you can book in advance. Their gift shop is filled with art and books about architecture. There is plenty of parking in their private lot. Restrooms are available.

We stopped in at the Clubhouse section, the bar where you can do tastings in a comfortable setting with comfy leather couches, nestled into the trees, a short distance from the building that offers tours. Jack set us up with four pours based on our interests, and offered a delightful, personalized lesson on their distilling and aging process. While we enjoyed all four tastes, we particularly loved one bourbon, which we then purchased directly from the barrels as part of a thieving experience. We even got to fill the bottle ourselves! We especially enjoyed that Jack signed the bottle personally. Highly recommend Jack and this little gem on the Bourbon Trail. BTW - for you other combat veterans out there, there's a special surprise.

Our bar waitress went above and beyond by making sure our young boys felt included, even sharing a special drink with them so they could be part of the experience. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to our family. We love the beautiful setting, friendly service, and convenient location right along our route home. Not my favorite tour of the major nearby distillery's but still fun. The tasting was really good though. The Visitors Center was really nice.
