My friend and I went to the Wild Turkey Visitors Center last week as that's where we started and ended our tour. Our tour guide and tour were really cool. Not my favorite tour of the major nearby distillery's but still fun. The tasting was really good though. The Visitors Center was really nice. They have dedicated tasting rooms and a decently sized retail section where you can purchase pours of their various whiskey's. All in all, it was a really good experience. read more

Let me start by saying that Wild Turkey Rare Breed bourbon makes my top 2 bourbons and I've recently purchases a Kentucky Spirit single barrel ans a couple of 70th anniversaries, and am really looking forward to both. Secondly, i didn't to a tour here. I stopped at several distilleries and couldn't do tours everywhere. I guess for such an iconic brand like Wild Turkey i was expecting to be wowed when driving up to the building . . . . and maybe expecting a little more from the building itself i guess. Don't get me wrong, it was very nice, maybe a little too nice, to sterile. To me Wild Turkey brings a more rustic, unrefined setting to mind . . . . I mean it is called "Wild" Turkey after all. I'll continue to be a big fan of their bourbon (The bourban gets 5 stars for sure.) and maybe take a tour the next time (I assume they have tours . . . . didn't check.). read more

Granted, I was at Wild Turkey probably 15 years ago. And if you give me my options of bourbons, I'm not going to pick wild turkey. However, the actual visitor center for Wild Turkey is one of the most beautiful spaces I've seen. you're probably going to be waiting until your tour starts because wild turkey is such a large campus. You actually do this tour on on a bus. So they have to drive you around to different areas. So while you're waiting, you get to hang out and check out the gift shop or the lounge upstairs. Or my other favorite the outdoor area which has a gorgeous view of the valley where Wild Turkey located. There's a lounge at the Wild Turkey which overlooks the beautiful area. You can also get started by just having a cocktail with some wild turkey in it. This was a wonderful way to get started with the tour and it was a beautiful piece of architecture with the way they had it set up. read more

Wild Turkey Visitors Center - Old fashion - Visitor Centers Near Me - Lawrenceburg, Kentucky

I'm pleased to announce that the gorgeous steel and glass Visitors Center to the north of the highway is back in business and looks as good as it always did. In the new configuration the gift shop is in the rear of the building on the lower level. The lower level also now opens to an open air bar and seating area that overlooks the river. The upper level of the back of the building has the bar with a cozy seating area. In the front, where you check in, there is a new tasting room which is pleasantly dark but a little cramped. Wild Turkey is a must stop on the Bourbon Trail tour, not only to buy bottles unavailable elsewhere, but for the chance that you'll run into the Living Legend Jimmy Russell, whom I've met twice, hanging out in the lobby signing bottles and swapping stories. At this time Wild Turkey has a temporary pop up gift shop since the main visitors center is under renovation. The temporary location is basically a gift shop selling everything Wild Turkey with a small cocktail lounge. There was no one attending the bar when we visited so no idea on prices or what they offer. Bottle prices are slightly higher than what you can purchase at a box store so unless it's a rare release,nothing too special at this location. Hopefully on our next visit,the main visitors center will be available as well as tours. read more

I would not include this on your must-visit bucket list on the bourbon trail. However if you are already driving by like we were, then you might as well make a quick stop. The grounds are nicely kept but not breathtaking. The whiskey is what it is...famous bottom shelf whiskey at good price. They have a bar where you can purchase full glasses (not small tastings). You get to keep the glass from the tasting. read more

Perfect afternoon here in Anderson county! We had reservations and got in right on time. The visitors center is stunning. The stave roof ramp to the tasting room is stellar! Bo was our tasting host. Very knowledgeable and we loved his history and family connections. Made the time we had all the more enjoyable. The staff is warm and friendly and that's not the bourbon talking either. Plan ahead. We booked for this tasting in mid-August. It's worth the wait and you'll enjoy your time here. We sure did snd we'll be back. read more

Up front, I am not a fan of Wild Turkey. However the distillery experience was ok. A pleasant customer service experience. A limited but nice gift shop that only sells original items (can't buy gift shop items anywhere else in the world; minus black market). Limited bar serving pour drinks (no cocktails) with a very impressive outdoor area to sip (limited shade). This is a short visit unless you scheduled the tour. read more

I would love to give the gift shop and bar 5 stars, but the absolute rudeness of the woman who was the team lead completely ruined our experience. Not only was short and lacking respect for our group who was purchasing items in the store, she inconsiderately demanded our friend move from a chair that was not marked reserved. Anyone with any costumer service experience would know how to politely address paying patrons. Women should lift women up, not treat each other with such disrespect! read more

We stopped by the temporary gift shop. Two older gentleman were working there, both were pleasant and very knowledgeable. They sell there products at MSRP and they know there stuff. read more

Do not plan to taste anything after 4:00. We drove over an hour to do tasting because the website said they were open till 5:00. We arrived at 4:10 only to be greeted with, "we closed our tasting counter at 4:00". A complete waste of our time. Updating there website with this information would have saved us two hours of day. Plenty of other distilleries we can support. read more
