After some research, I found this place for a nice getaway vacation with my husband. I am so glad that I did! Everyone here was so nice, and the hospitality made it feel like a home away from home. We were greeted with care with a welcome hot cider drink with rum to relax before checking in. Once we were all done, we went up to our room that had the balcony overlooking the lake. The room was nice and clean. The view from the room was pure bliss. Got a great view of the Harvest Moon as we were there that night. We never would have seen that back home. What's also nice is that breakfast was included. Every morning, there were different choices for breakfast along with pastries if we wanted. They even had pastries during the day if you wanted an extra treat. Every moment we interacted with anyone, we were greeted with kindness. And a shout out to Lori, who saved us with a recommendation to eat at Alta in Lenox for dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the views and would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting the area. Lots to do and it's right near a bunch of great towns. read more

Lovely inn right by the water, cozy rooms, free dessert goodies, great included breakfast, and complimentary wine -- or so we thought, until checkout, when the owner gave us a dramatic monologue about how we weren't allowed to take it. I get it--MA has strict laws--but he went on and on about it. I wasn't arguing, I immediately set it on the desk, and I still got roundly scolded like an employee. The LakeHouse Inn takes the cake when it comes to comfy, wrap-me-up-in-a-blanket, frigid may I say, winter feels. After spending the Christmas holiday in Cape Cod, we decided to switch things up a bit during one of my long weekend January school breaks to spend it in the Berks. LakeHouse Inn was everything my husband and I wanted to unwind. I'm talking about a lake facing you, toasty lounge area and that homey feel WITHOUT doilies, outdatedness, or mish-mash around. Heavens no- not here. There are several dreadful Inns in the Berks that certainly gave me an eyesore- but hubs and I were taken care of in more ways than one when we came here. Checking in on a Friday night was easy. We met Cody that night and mentioned that: the entrance door is shut at a certain time at night and there's a code to enter using the electronic keypad door lock, that breakfast is available, that there's wine & cheese hour and a few other things. My husband originally booked from Friday-Monday. But with the Berkshires' impending snowstorm starting on a Sunday night and ending late Monday morning, we wanted to avoid the slippery roads by heading home a day early. Because of our unexpected short stay, Cody gave us the green light to squeeze in a few more hours that Sunday to check out at any time. The 1st floor has the lounge area, lobby restroom, dining room and kitchen in the back. As a reminder, the front staircase is used to go upstairs only and the staircase located by the kitchen, is what you'd use to exit only if you're on the top floors. Our balcony, Laurel Lake-front room was all that. Walk-in shower was great and so were the BeeKind shower products. But our freshly made bed with crisp, white bedding, was the centerpiece because it was definitely calming, inviting and luxurious. LakeHouse+Cody didn't let us down. Everything worked in sync, giving us an excellent stay and INCREDIBLE service. We were treated to a super cozy, clean stay, above and beyond friendly service and awesome homemade breakfast. The restoration- from what I've read, definitely looks like it's been their labor of love and attention to detail, is all here. read more

This place is pure magic! We were passing by on road trip around New England and got the last room they had completely last minute - the staff here is the best! They were so wonderfully kind and helpful in every aspect and at every turn. We felt truly at home once we entered the doors! I work in hospitality and seriously everyone working on this property is a gem! Of course the setting is amazing as well- they have breakfast every morning outside overlooking Laurel Lake and even a vegan menu - vegan pancakes yes please! The also have a common area with board games, puzzles, books and free cognac tastings and welcome sangria as well as the best purple cow blackberry ice cream you will ever taste. Just steps down to the water they provide complimentary SUP boards and kayaks where you can paddle and watch the most magical sunset you can imagine' we loved it so much we booked another night and I am already planning a trip back!! My family and I came to The Lakehouse Inn this weekend for my mom's birthday. It was our first time here. Everything was amazing! The staff was so kind and helpful! It felt like we were home. So cozy and intimate! The room and whole inn was super clean! The staff suggested great places to dine and visit. They have a sitting room where they have a puzzle table and games to play. Every morning they served an amazing complimentary sit down breakfast. Kathleen was our chef and she was so friendly and hospitable. We will definitely return for another visit! The LakeHouse Inn is an absolute retreat from everyday life. We booked a two night stay for our anniversary and last "hooray" before our first born arrives. From the second you open the front door you feel embraced with historic charm and your worries melt away. From the floors to the ceiling, every single detail was thought of. We stayed in the King room with a balcony that overlooked the lake. The room was spotless and smelled of fresh linens. The bathroom was pristine, with honeycomb tiled floors and a steam shower that does not disappoint. The beds were heaven! We felt so rested. They serve breakfast in the morning which consisted of the best coffee cake we've ever had, fresh fruit and an egg and hash dish that was incredible. They change up the breakfast options everyday. At 4pm they serve wine and cheese in the kitchen. You truly get what you pay for and more. Although it rained both days of our stay, we were able to catch some peaceful moments on the dock overlooking the lake. There's also a gas fire pit, adorandak chairs and lounge furniture outside overlooking the untouched vegetation across the lake. Both owners (Maggie and Cody) were present through our stay. They were warm and welcoming and it was inspiring to see 20-somethings running an incredible business. We can't wait to return! read more

We just returned from 5 days in Paradise. Maggie and Cody have significantly improved the inn's inside and are the most gracious hosts. The outside is heaven sent. A tree lined, expansive backyard overlooking a bluff,a porch with the most comfortable chairs and a wonderful Beach and dock with kayaks and paddleboats make this a venue for any activity or just no activity. The rooms are great with the most comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms with glass enclosed modem showers. It's Eight minutes from Tanglewood, fifteen from Great Barrington and accessible to all the attractions. This is the perfect vacation place. We love it. read more

The LakeHouse Inn is paradise! It has all the quaintness that you would dream about and the amazing family owners to go with it. This is a place I wish I never had to leave. We spent our days waking up to fresh breezy air, enjoying the view from cozy beds, beautiful scenery, Paddleboarding/kayaking on the lake, homemade breakfast and evening wine and cheese without ever leaving the property. My neice got married at the lakehouse inn and rented out the entire inn. The accommodations were fabulous! The rooms were recently updated and so comfortable. The owners Maggie and Cody were so sweet and accomodating. Tending to all of our needs without any hesitation. Breakfast was included each morning which was a selection of 3 items all cooked to order and the best pumpkin pancakes I've ever had! The inn overlooks beautiful Lake Laurel, is newly renovated (I believe 2015) and spotlessly clean. I think they did a great job with the renovation --- bringing modern day amenities while maintaining its old world charm. The linens on the bed are crisp clean white and looks/feels new. There are chairs in the back overlooking the lake where one can relax with a glass of wine and some cheese during the warm sunny summer afternoons (or perhaps glorious fall -- I found myself imagining how beautiful this place will be during that time of year). You can meander down to the lake and take a short swim or simply sit on one of the chairs strategically placed close enough to the water for you to be able to take in the wonderful view. The innkeepers are young, very friendly and accommodating but never intrusive. Breakfasts are wonderful (I had scrambled eggs with goat cheese and spinach). I will certainly come back. It's a great place to stay when you need to get away for a short r&r or a romantic getaway for a few days or when you want to have a small get together with family and/or friends, or even a team workshop or a bridal party --- I think the possibilities are almost limitless for a beautiful place like this. Definitely a wonderful creative convergence of old world charm with modern day comforts and delicious breakfast to boot, a quintessential New England bed and breakfast getaway... Icing on the cake: the towns of Lee and Lenox are very short drives away (5 minutes or less). read more

The LakeHouse Inn was the perfect place for our first trip to the Berkshires. We booked our room at the last minute at were able to get one that was just right for us. We loved our third floor room, dispite the stairs. It was quieter with no one over head. The room was well appointed, great linens, comfy bed, bathrobes, beautiful updated bathroom and a bit of a view of the lake. The breakfasts were delicious and healthy, wine and cheese timely and the setting on the lake was beautiful at sunset. Maggie and Cody are charming and are very accommodating, especially giving info on things to do and places to eat. Make dinner reservations ahead if you come in the busy season and want to eat well. If you are thinking of coming to this pretty part of New England stay here, you won't be disappointed. We will be back to go to Tanglewood! read more

We stayed here a few weeks ago for two nights, having chosen it by reviewing, via the Internet, several bed-and-breakfast inns in the area. We were more than happy with our choice! Newly renovated, extremely clean, very comfortable, gorgeous grounds by the lake, sumptuous breakfast, wine and cheese at 4 PM and a totally relaxed atmosphere made for a truly wonderful stay. Let me start by saying that I accidentally calendared our reservation starting on Monday after I booked it in Lakehouse Inn's system for starting on Sunday. After calling to see where we were Sunday evening, the owners very kindly were able to shift our reservation to starting the following day -- thereby avoiding an expensive mistake on my part. My husband and I arrived the following day with our two daughters (ages eight and five) and had a truly relaxing and beautiful time. Our two-room suite was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Our rooms were not lake-facing, but this didn't matter since the Inn has numerous common rooms, decks, and lawns that face Laurel Lake. We spent most of our time kayaking and swimming or just sitting outside enjoying the view. The food was fantastic -- even my picky girls loved the included three-course, cooked-to-order breakfast and the cheese platter at happy hour. We definitely intend to return next summer (or hopefully sooner). Likewise, the owners and staff were fantastic. It was a perfect Berkshire experience! read more

My husband and I stayed at the Lake House Inn last week for three nights. Our room was very nice and clean. I loved the way the soap products they offered didn't smell like perfume and were made natural ingredients. Wine and cheese was put out for an hour in the late afternoon and we were free to take it outside to sit by the lake. Actually, the Inn is situated up from the lake on a small cliff and is a beautiful view. They have a fire pit that is on in the evenings, and kayaks and paddle boards available all the time. We used the kayaks, walked the Kennedy park trails nearby and spent some time in Lenox, just a short car ride away. The Inn serves a full breakfast that is included in the cost. It's served restaurant style with a menu of a few choices. Everything was very fresh and tasted great. I did mention in an email I was gluten-free, so I was limited to granola/yogurt and egg dishes. I had both on different days and was served with fruit. I'm flexible, but would have loved some gf bread with the eggs. I just want to give a shout out to Lindsey, who was so nice and helpful with many questions I had. The owners and other staff were really nice as well. read more

My son gave me a Mother's Day gift of a two night stay at the Lake House Inn. I had a wonderful time. It is just beautiful. It was obvious that the hosts, Maggie and Codi, put their heart and soul into the renovation. They run their Inn with real attention to detail. They are friendly and so helpful. The design, the furnishings and the colors all contribute to a very beautiful, restful feel. I was so impressed with the crisp white linens on the beds, the large bathroom with a great roomy shower and thick, plush towels. The whole Inn has a charm about it. The sitting room and dining room are so comfortable and welcoming. What adds to it all is the delicious breakfast each morning and the wine and cheese in the afternoon. Now I come to my favorite part. The Inn's grounds are like a picture. The tall pines surrounding crystal clear Laurel Lake and all the amenities to enjoy it all. Comfortable tables and chairs out on the lawn so you can enjoy the view while you relax. You walk down to the dock where they have everything you need from kayaks, paddle boards. life vests and pails and shovels for the children. I went kayaking for the first and just loved it. I plan to return to the Inn each year. It is a 15 minute drive to Tanglewood, so you can take advantage of a concert during your stay. read more
