Spring vegetables

Reviewing the restaurant for our group of eight, for dinner in between performances at Tanglewood. Everything we had was excellent, mainly the appetizers. Chicken liver mousse outstanding, so light and flavorful, as well as artisanal cheeses, eggplant caviar and beet tart. Burgers were solid and fries served with aioli. Radicchio salad was filling, spring vegetables a braised mix of carrots, peas and squash, and cold soup was yogurt-cucumber. Service was attentive, all set in a beautiful room in the back by the patio.

Love this place! Great location and charming vibe. The room was great with nice little details. Came with a great menu'd free breakfast that felt high end. Staff is lovely, especially at the bar (which had great drinks). Wish we stayed another night! Oh and there are car charging stations in the parking lot, which was very convenient.

This review is for the restaurant only. Elegant 12 room boutique hotel, located in historic Lenox MA. Originally built as the summer "cottage" for Harley Procter of Procter & Gamble fame. In house 5 star restaurant, exceptionally stocked bar and live music at the piano bar enhance your stay. Perfect for an intimate wedding, a family reunion or a romantic escape, we are one of the Berkshires finest. Limited staff did an outstanding job tonight...food was beautifully presented and delicious... drinks were well prepared. All of the dishes I tried were the perfect balance of creative flavors, masterful execution and excellent ingredients. Had the salmon and loved it. The vegan hamburger was very good aswell. The prices surprisingly reasonable. Live music certain night / call ahead. Plenty of street parking in front.

Gorgeous historic home. The hall leading downstairs to the sitting room, bar and restaurant

What a beautiful historic property! This B&B is nestled in the Berkshire mountains and offers gorgeous private bedrooms with high end bedding and beautiful furnishing. We even had a fireplace in our room! The bathroom was gorgeous too! I loved the thick lush robes and slippers! Classy touch! The home was Mr Proctor's summer home (of proctor and gamble!). Just imagining all the people who walked through the front door so many years ago was intriguing to me. The sitting rooms were well appointed and the bar was beautiful with all the woodwork and cozy seating areas. The restaurant was beautiful and served the most amazing breakfast. We had the omelet that was served with a beautiful fresh green salad which I've never had served with breakfast. They made me fresh decaf coffee which was so smooth and made me feel like vacation and relaxation were in this mug! The staff was very friendly too. The outdoor dining space was beautiful and peaceful with the lush landscape. We will definitely stay here again!

The food was good, but the atmosphere did not match. We were celebrating a special day that ended up being blah. We were seated in the "lower level" that was chilly with people cleaning or closing chairs out the window. We arrived right at opening. There were lovely tables in the front room. When we left the front tables were still not occupied. When I asked why we were seated at the lower level I was told there were reservations. Disappointed to be seated in an empty lack-luster room when there were lovely tables near the fireplace and piano. Probably will not return. I read another review that was promised the front, but got the lower level.

We selected one of the smaller rooms, which had a modern shower/bath. The space was large enough for a queen-size bed and a large soft chair. Very quiet too despite being in a 200-year-old house. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. A major bonus included a delicious full breakfast included in the rate! Book your stay directly through the inn's website for great pricing and room selection.

Very friendly at check-in and answered all my questions during my stay, always with a smile on her face. My room was beautiful. I chose room 25 (Vivian) on the 2nd floor of the main house. While it's a small room, it was cozy and quite lovely. I spent some quiet time writing at the desk, and later enjoyed the fireplace with a Duraflame log provided by the inn. They also provide a free bottle of wine, which was waiting for me in my room. The next morning, hot breakfast was waiting in the dining area downstairs. There were several options, which I appreciate having a choice. The pumpkin French toast casserole, seasoned potatoes, and bacon were superb. A great way to start the day! I loved my stay so much that I'm returning in January for another night!

BEWARE of this Hotel and its unprofessional, and downright cruel GENERAL MANAGER - LAURA RUMMEL!!!!…read more We had a terrible encounter here at this Hampton Inn with Laura Rummel, General Manager. I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced.

Our room was as nice as we…read morecould have hoped, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, high-quality bedding, and a bathroom with a wonderfully large walk-in shower. The staff proved to be uniformly pleasant people, always helpful. The public spaces -- the dining areas and especially the recently refurbished parlor rooms which are stocked with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon -- are a genuine delight. So much is good here. But we have given the inn four stars not five because of the disappointing breakfasts. We were served very overcooked casseroles, overcooked scrambled eggs, grossly undercooked bacon and rather sad bits of yogurt. They really need some improvements here. That said -- and we know it requires us to be honest -- we would definitely look forward to returning with fingers crossed for some improvements in the breakfasts. And yes, 33 Main is on the pricey side, but it's high season for Tanglewood -- a very short drive away -- and given the quality here we think it's well worth considering a splurge.

PROS - Ren is a…read moresuperstar. Busy summer weekend, but this leader shined throughout our stay. Friendly, professional, smart and charismatic, we are taking about a top talent in a tough industry. The Inm is beautiful, well appointed and located in a prime location. Park your car and walk everywhere, including Tanglewood if you are so inclined (30 minutes each way). The standard rooms are TINY, but the grounds, lobby, fire pit and front porch give you no reason to be in iyour room other than sleep or shower. Speaking of which, you will laugh out loud when you see how small the bathrooms are in the regular rooms. The bathroom photos on their website are not the bathroom you will get in a standard king. You will get a phone booth with water. CONS Breakfast is a moon launch, get this poor girl some help. Put out a self serve pot of coffee with to go cups for early risers and leave it out all morning. She will love this idea, trust me. Eggs and toast were ice cold when they finally arrived, so we skipped breakfast the next morning as she was buried yet again. The bar was completely overwhelmed both nights with a large wedding and made it near impossible for anyone else to get a drink. We are talking 20 minutes due to the complexity of their cocktail program. Like everyone else, he was very hospitable, but cannot handle the bar stools, plus all of the dining room and outside cocktails on his own. Get him some help. The Inn would also benefit from an ice water station, especially on these scorching hot days. Your bartender and servers will also thank you. Lastly and the real reason for dropping a star is that we were checked into a dirty room at 3:30pm. At 600.00 per night, this is a fatal flaw and should have never happened. Never.

The building is really beautiful and at any other time we would have made use of the beautiful common spaces indoors and not just enjoyed our room and the grounds. The room was impeccably cleaned and staff were attentive to needs that came up during the visit. The absolute stand out was our room service meal set in front of the wood-burning fireplace in our room. They came up with a table, offered us options for chairs, had all of the food wrapped in plastic and covered in warming lids, but done in a way that did not interfere with even the delicate plating details. The portions were substantial and food quality was outstanding. They even provided gluten-free options that went above and beyond to accommodate an allergy. I wish I could give 4.5 because there were some minor areas for improvement, but I will round up given COVID was likely a contributing factor.

The staff is obnoxious rude & pretentious. We arrived with are 2 Small Shitizs just as we had before. The hotel was aware we were bringing 2 service dogs.. First night they would not allow us in the dining room with dogs but they had no room for us to dine outside! They wanted us to sit alone in a room by ourselves & have dinner ! I objected. We finally agreed we would have dinner in the bar alone . At least it was part of the dining area. To get to the pool area you need to drive your car. They didn't like where my husband parked our car. No biggie. I think the Pool Boy could have handled it. All he had to do is ask us to move it. Next thing we know the manger of the Hotel comes to the pool standing over us suit & all. After announcing his titled he ordered my husband to move the car. It was definitely a reprimand for his bad behavior. Of course he moved the car. When we returned to our room there was a hand written note offering to serve us dinner in our room that evening. I called the desk to ask about this & was told this was a new thing they were offering ! We ate dinner in town that evening.. I could go on & on with our crimes & misdemeanors. I spoke to this TIGHT A.S JERK when we were checking out . I asked if the General Manger was available. He has a total passive aggressive personality. I expressed my disappointment about the weekend. He went through the list list & more of the above. Wait a minute , aren't I the quest. Isn't this his job ? Doesn't it come with the territory! If he was so disapproving of us he could have asked us to checkout. He didn't do that though. He wanted our $3900. He may not have like us but he liked our money.
