We had a fantastic stay at the Landing. Our family of 4 stayed in one of the cabins right by the river. It was a perfect setup for us our room had a lovely view of the river you could listen to all night, our daughter was in the other upstairs bedroom and our teenage son had a fold out couch all to himself downstairs. He loved his own private space. The location was perfect for us. Close to the bear lake entrance where we did most of our hiking and then a quick easy drive into town for shops and dinner. Best part was sitting by the river in the evening. Highly recommend we would definitely stay again. read more

I attended a family wedding here and stayed for two days. While the property itself is beautiful, it is abysmally run. There is an absolutely ridiculous number of rules surrounding weddings and events here, to the point that they became intrusive rather than reasonable. We were refused permission to put stakes in the ground for a pavilion. The venue also required a specific bartending service that, in our experience, served noticeably watered-down drinks, refused to allow shots in an apparent effort to keep guests from getting drunk, and, frankly, made awful drinks on top of it. One of the final issues came at the end of the wedding. We were already forced to end the event at 10:00 PM, and less than fifteen minutes later, while several guests were still simply trying to arrange rides back to their hotels, the property owner was already harassing and pressuring them to leave. There is a difference between maintaining reasonable rules for your property and exercising an excessive degree of control over a wedding and its guests. Unfortunately, this consistently felt like the latter. Overall, it is a genuinely lovely location, but it is overshadowed by an absolutely tyrannical property owner who desperately needs to rein in her sense of control. Rather than simply being the person who provided the venue, her behavior became an unfortunate and lasting memory for several members of our family who attended the wedding. That should never be one of the things guests remember most about someone's wedding. It's clear her goal is clearly to make as much profit with the least amount of hassle or effort possible. I stayed here with my mom when she came to visit me in Denver and we decided to stay in the mountains for a night. We had the best time, the suites are SO nice and the views are amazing. This is an immaculate, peaceful, and beautiful escape from regular life! We spent five days in Estes Park, and The Landing was our temporary home away from home. It was hard to leave The Landing for our regular life, because everything about this place is special. It's called a retreat, and that is true in every sense of the word. From the luxury cabin feel to the attentive staff, there was nothing left to chance. The owners obviously care about this property, and it's clear they prioritize the comfort of their visitors. This place is immaculate and comfortable, with heated tile floors, a working fireplace, windows that open easily, lighting that is dimmable, delicious coffee pods, a gorgeous bathroom with plenty of counter space, two closets with loads of hangers...and that's just the room. The grounds are gorgeous, with wildlife and mountains just beyond the Adirondack chairs on the patio in front of our room. There was nothing we wished was different! Even the linens smelled amazing! The owners and staff of The Landing are truly vacation rock stars, because it was obvious their goal was to make sure we had everything we needed before we knew we wanted it. What an incredible group of people! The best bonus of all was that Rocky Mountain National Park is just around the corner, so we were delighted to find we could pop into the room throughout the day between hikes. He gave us a map with all the best spots around. It was so quiet even though there were other people there during our stay we did not hear a thing at all. The owners were extremely accommodating and were a wealth of information for us. From where to get rental ski clothes and equipment to making restaurant reservations for us. After doing some research for a last minute winter getaway from NYC...I was on the fence with a few options, but after speaking with the people at The Landing it was an easy decision. The place looked amazing and all the other reviews were excellent so that was an obvious plus, but the staff was very accommodating and knowledgable and able to even extend a military discount to us, which we greatly appreciated. We took the Mills Suite which we loved. Large room, beautiful bathroom with large stand-up shower. Sitting area to watch tv...and small sink/fridge combo. The balcony view is beautiful and the bed is amazingly comfortable, and there is a fireplace. Very romantic. There is not one thing I can criticize. We visited in February, so Estes Park was quiet. We wanted that, but it IS a tourist area and this location is within 3-4 miles (if that) to the entrance to RMNP, so from what we were told by people it gets busy. We decided that if we ever make it back we will be staying here. We loved it! read more

Brilliant place to stay. We had the smallest room, but it was plenty large for the two of us. It was clean, beautifully decorated and the mattress was great. The owners are very helpful with food recommendations, and gave us some great hike recommendations too. Location is perfect, right on the river and we saw elk most days. I would give ZERO stars if possible. Met with RUDE and COMBATIVE front desk associate who was determined to hassle my family and I to determine the exact number of people in the cottage. My family and I just spent 3 nights at The Landings, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! The cabin was very clean, well-stocked, warm and very quiet along the river :) Our 2 year old loved seeing all the wildlife....we had deer welcome us upon arrival and lots of elk in the mornings as they crossed the river to graze in the field across from the cabins. The owner is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely be returning for future family vacations! read more

We came for a weekend getaway and saw a stand up comedy show at Stanley Hotel in their new pavilion. The hotel was clean, staff was super friendly, and the room was cute and cozy. You're right next to the river, so the view is beautiful and they have a fire pit you can utilize during your stay. The only downside is that it is an old building so you can hear everything, but they do warn you of that. We will definitely be back :) read more

The Landing is definitely the greatest place to stay in Estes Park. Especially for couples to stay in one of their suites. Our suite (Sprague) was even equipped with a sauna in the bathroom. Great views and common areas like the natural gas fire pit next to the river. The family that owns it is very friendly and makes you feel like you're at home. Staying at The Landing was an amazing experience! We looked all over Estes Park for a place to stay with family before our wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park and to stay for our honeymoon. We couldn't have picked a better place! Jen and Jay were amazing hosts. They gave us tons of recommendations for places to check out around town during our visit. They truly went FAR above and beyond for us, and we will never forget their kind hospitality throughout the planning of and unfolding of our wedding events and honeymoon. They are such a pleasure to interact with as well! Just Incredible people! The lodge rooms and cabins were well kept, clean, super cute and rustic, each with its own theme and had such a great view of the river. Mornings on the balcony/patio were a treat in the sun and nights were warm and cozy by the fireplace. The Landing is officially our go-to spot anytime we need to stay in Estes and have been and will continue to recommend it to all of our friends and family. My husband and I came down with Covid 3 days before we were supposed to stay here for an anniversary trip. We called to cancel, and they would not refund our money. They wouldn't even let us put it towards a future visit when we were planning on being there in a few months, they were completely unapologetic and did not care at all that we were both sick and going to be out over $500. They were not willing to work with us at all. They literally told us we could come stay there while we were sick, and that wouldn't be a problem. Which would have meant we flew, with Covid, and stayed at a place that had a wedding, and the whole wedding party was staying there at the time we would have been there. I am more responsible than that, and their response shows you that it's all about money to them, they do not care about people's health. In addition, I later checked the website, and they had filled the rooms we were to stay in. So, they were not going to be out any money. I understand they have a business to run, but, they filled the rooms, and we asked that they just give us a credit towards a future stay, even if it was only half. With Covid as bad as it has been, the fact that they would put peoples health at risk, is pretty disgusting to me. I would never refer anyone here, but if you do decide to stay here, make sure you have travel ins in case you have an emergency, or become ill and are not able to be there for your reservation so you would not just be out money. read more

Excellent accommodations! Every room has a nice rustic/euro feel with cozy higher end finishes(the bedding was wonderful!). Really beautiful pseudo-resort style stay with beautiful views and unique rooms just outside of downtown Estes. The check in was easy, we stayed in a room with a sauna and fireplace with a deck. Unfortunately it had a street side view that had a screen door that didn't slide easily and the patio door didn't lock, which was a little concerning. Room was spacious and had a fridge in the closet. Shower had great water pressure and was huge!!! Keurig in room, but had to be run 3 times to make 1 cup. And last, the toilet was leaking at the base. A place like this is great because of the views of nature and the mountains. Sure enough, when we walked to the outdoor gazebo area, we saw an elk within a minute. This is a place to stay at with a family or group for a long stay, as they have private "townhouse" rooms with plenty of space. The good outweighed the bad, but couldn't give a 5 star based on some of the misses. We will be back! read more
