This place should be ashamed of themselves. They are all about taking money and not care. We had to move our mother out after a few months as the "care" we were paying for was not adhered to whatsoever. Let's start with improper amounts (too much or not enough) medication distributed. We can continue with not enough staff to bathe her, or she was told she's too slow, so no shower today? We had paid for these services and the meetings we had with them were fruitless, lip service given and completely disregarded. Please DO NOT leave your love one in this places care. They are all about money with little regard to helping out the people they serve. It is shameful, disappointing and really grimy how they operate. I cannot imagine what type of care is given to those whose family isn't on top of every single day, it became hopeless and beyond frustrating in her care and the nonsense that was told to us about being on the same page. I have been living here for 3 years as a downsizing into a Studio Apartment and was pleased to find my queen size Mattress became a perfect fit!!!! Apt has a built-in nightlight in the warm that automatically comes on when I turn off the lights totally. Equipped with a fully standing Refrigerator and Microwave Oven, lots of closet space,, room for a computer desk and TV stand, plus electric recliner. I am utilizing the total Assisted Living Program, which includes 3 meals per day ,laundry service once a week, and medications management. What impressed me upon my first tour was the cheerful decor and bright Living with many lighting in use that gives a feeling of plenty safety!!! A person can come to the dining room with vaulted ceiling for breakfast any time 7AM- Noon, or Lunch noon- 5PM and Dinner 5PM, to sit wherever you choose and there are no assigned seating. There is an Activity Department that offer several means to enrich our lifestyles. There is a Shuttle Bus use to transport us to nearby shopping, plus a comfy Lincoln for transportation to Dr. appointments on TUE. & THU(s). I easily accept this as my comfortable home with friendly staff to assist on any great day!!! read more

The Landing of Poughkeepsie is not closed. Currently continuing to have issues with hiring and keeping staff and management. No respect for residents' concerns. Skimping on food- running out of basics.- no milk for cereal one day? Poor dining service- one hour wait for a cup of tea . Very nice rooms and environment. Excellent housekeeping. My grandfather is currently a resident. The staffing is poor, and they left him sitting in his own vomit for an hour because there is a norovirus outbreak. I left a review on google, they are trying to get me to take it down and are suppressing it. This is an investment group now. It's literally on their name. They aren't worried about their residents, only their publicity and profit. And it seems, they would like to trample on free speech to do that. read more

Unbeliveably rude staff!!! I fully understand how hard these individuals are working, and how understaffed the are, and that the job is stressful. But that DOES NOT give them permission to yell at the family members of their residents when they call. I hate to play this card. But we pay for their residents living expenses, and we expect to be treated politely. I make it my business NOT to take out my troubles on strangers, and I expect the same from any service industry. I advise everyone NOT to put their loved ones here. They have been consistent impolite and disorganized, and if this is how they talk to familyvmwmbers, I can't imagine how badly they treat the residents. read more

the first year that my mom was there, i was rather disappointed with their services. now that she has settled in [and we are fully aware of what they can and cannot do], i am feeling much better about placing mom at this facility. most of the staff is very attentive to mom's needs. areas that need improvement are: size of the staff- it appears that there is a smaller staff than there was when we first arrived there. this is my opinion and i dont actually have the staff statistics. second is the food service- i am ok with the quality of the food, however their servers could be more attentive and more knowledgeable. [cold coffee, no cream unless you specifically ask for it, one person getting their meal right away where others at the same table have to wait 10 minutes even though they all ordered at the same time. it seems to me that this could be fixed without much effort.] Kudos to the medical staff. they are genuinely concerned about the tenants and tend to be a bit overly-cautious which i consider a good thing. thank you for that! in summary, this is a very good looking facility with a very good core staff. though, i would very much like to see some of the improvements as stated in the above paragraph. read more

Don't be fooled by a pretty face! The medical care here is abysmal and the staff is richer one expensive diamond ring. The entire facility was on lockdown for almost 2 months because they couldn't get an infectious disease under control. Dept. of Health had to step in. I wondered how this could be until I went there one day to find my mother with her eyes swollen shut from pink eye and oozing green pus. The staff did not know about this (despite the fact they give her meds twice a day) until I told them. When I showed my mother's condition to the head RN - an extremely rude woman named Lisa H., she was very curt and said, yes, we are aware of it - it is being taken care of. Yes! They knew because I told them that I was taking her to urgent care - that's how they knew! While at urgent care - the doctor called the facility to see if they had the necessary meds - of course, they said. We get back - no meds, they weren't going to arrive for hours. Meanwhile, Mom is still oozing pus. Head nurse lets her go off to the dining room without even asking her to wash her hands!! Hmmm. Now I understand their problem with infectious disease. This same rude woman, when I told her my mother's ring was stolen, blamed my mother because "she misplaces things a lot". Funny, none of her costume jewelry was misplaced. None of it. And - did she also "misplace" her hand painted shower curtain rings? Somebody actually stole those! Who does that? Granted, they were pretty but, come on. I couldn't get her out of there fast enough. There a few notable staff that were excellent but, most were indifferent and constantly changing. At one point, I went there after hours. A staff member just let me in, didn't ask why I was there, had never seen me before. That gives you a feeling of safety! The final straw is when me moved Mom out, they did not return all her meds to us, costing her another $93 to add insult to injury. And - then they charged us for the full month even though we gave notice on the 11th of the previous month. Run, don't walk away from this place! read more
