My first experience with Taven began over 12 years ago. We needed to upgrade our front yard with all new hard scape and soft scape, as well as a new driveway. We had bought our home over two years ago. The backyard had drainage problems and wasn't sloped properly when it was redone 20 years ago. We also wanted to change it up and add amenities. Taven's crew was professional, curtious and did great work. On time and on budget except for a couple items that were necessary change orders that weren't expected at a 50 yr old home. They finished in November on the day after quoting a 5 1/2 week build time. Since then we have one heck of a winter and the drainage is perfect! From our first meeting, Taven listened to our vision, and helped us work with/through our HOA. He explained the cost of items, and does not nickel and dime you. I am very happy to say I am a repeat customer of The Landscape Contractor. I first utilized Mr. Cohn's services back in 2002 when my wife and I moved into a new home. He provided the vision and expertise to mold my backyard into a personal paradise. His knowledge of plants, trees, watering, and lighting was second to none. What really separated him from the others we interviewed was his attention to detail and customer service. Mr. Cohn took the time to explain every decision he had made, hand selected every tree, shrub, and placed the low voltage lights at optimal angles. He took the time to explain how our backyard would look 2, 5, and 10 years down the road. During the years, I often reached out to Mr. Cohn for advice on my watering system, trimming the trees, etc... He always took my call, and if needed, stopped by my house to personally provide advice free of charge. I highly doubt any other contractor goes the extra mile like Mr. Cohn. So, when my wife and I recently moved into a new house, he was one of our first calls. We replaced almost 20 trees, and replaced an outdated lighting system that was over 10 years old. I've been working with Taven and the guys for several years. He gave my old house some much needed curb appeal in 2011. I was working in Israel at the time and when I returned home after a two week trip, I thought I pulled up to the wrong house! He worked a miracle while I was out of town working directly with my wife. No high-pressure sales or hidden costs. What an awesome experience. Based on this experience, I decided to hire him again in April, 2014. Our old backyard was just downright ugly even though we had a pool. I work a lot so I knew that I wanted a low-maintenance landscape that would be great for entertaining (we have a big family) and also last a long time. I also wanted something that would add value to my house. Met with Taven and about a week later, he provided me with a drawing, schedule and a budget that all made sense! A putting green with artificial turf, lighting and drought tolerant plants. He initially estimated about a week but finished in 4 days, including hauling 9 yards of dirt out of my yard! Couldn't have been happier with the work. I would say my favorite part is he obsesses about the details. He provided me with LED lights instead of cheap lights (3W bulbs). To this date (4 years+ later) I have not had to replace one single bulb. He installed drainage all over the putting green and thank GOD with all the rain we had last year, we would have flooded for sure. Again, it's these details that we were completely oblivious about that he just covers because he is all about the quality of the job and knows how to build it to last. Anyway, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the remainder of the yard and it is going to be a huge project. Pavers, pool decking, pool replastering. I will post after this project is completed but very excited. The one thing you need to consider is the WAY he chooses to run his business. He only takes on one project at a time so that you are his only priority. Seriously, if you are interviewing contractors, make sure to ask them this very important question, you may be surprised by their response. Another comforting item for me was Taven's extensive knowledge of Contractor Law, in addition to Building Code. There are a lot of shady guys that are operating without contractor licenses and they will likely beat everyone's price but if something goes wrong, someone gets hurt...whatever...YOU ARE FULLY LIABLE for the damages incurred. Make sure to protect yourself. Based on all of this, I wouldn't even consider calling another contractor based on my previous experiences with other Hardscape/Landscape contractors. Taven and his team were all that we hoped for and more. He didn't just remodel our backyard, he created an oasis for us. My husband and I were looking to transform an essentially empty backyard into an outdoor living space that had space for our young children and provided us the opportunity to entertain. We had a general notion of what we were looking for, and Taven absolutely made our vision a reality - he so exceeded our expectations that I pinch myself thinking this amazing backyard is really ours. We wanted a built-in BBQ, a fire pit, integrated seating, artificial turf, and had a general notion of "adding plants." Taven was less contractor and more design partner - he proposed an beautiful plan that integrated all of what we wanted, and also was thoughtful about a myriad of things we hadn't considered - sight lines, social flow, plant spacing, seating layout, design balance, irrigation, landscape lighting. He patiently worked with us as we tweaked and perfected the design to our needs, wants, and budget. He made suggestions, provided honest feedback when asked, but ultimately he was professional and deferential to what we wanted. He was open about pricing from the beginning and always provided us with detailed quotes - allowing us to allocate our budget according to what we wanted and to understand exactly where every dollar was going. And after contract signing, the price never changed. No surprises or hidden charges. He was professional and courteous every step of the way. He gave us a start date and an estimated time of completion and then delivered on everything he said, 100%. The whole process from the very first phone call to the project completion was less than 10 weeks, and during that time, he always made us feel as though we were his most important clients. His team is awesome. They are in uniform, they are on time, and they are working all day long. They worked so fast we marveled at their progress at the end of every day. We can't say enough about the project leader, Lupe - it's one thing to work fast and it's another to produce quality. To produce quality quickly is very very rare, but that's what Lupe and his men did. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day - with a 3 and 5 year old, it was nice to know if they ventured outside they wouldn't impale themselves with some random piece of equipment just left laying around. Once they started, they were on the job. They didn't abandon the site for days or weeks at a time to go work another project. They were very flexible with us and willing to accommodate changes to the design, even mid-build. They did not nickel and dime us for every difference in square footage where we moved an angle or adjusted the width of something. As he told us numerous times, this was our backyard, and his whole team was absolutely committed to having it be exactly as we wanted it. I could go on and on but the best compliment I could pay them is that I would hire them again in a minute, and recommend them without hesitation. This guy Tavern is a liar! Don't trust him with your landscape work. He installed my friend's backyard with synthetic grass. Two weeks after installation, weeds grew back up and some areas started to come loose. He might sound friendly at first but he's a jerk when you actually need him back to fix his work. Also, if you have a small project he will tell you that they are booked for the next 12 weeks. With his customer services and skills, he cannot be that booked. read more

Modern Farmhouse is all he kept hearing. The finished product was unbelievable and our yards are something out of a dream home magazine. I don't even know where to start with the amazing work that Dynamic Landscape Services did for our yard. My husband and I were looking for a landscaping company who could design and then implement the design on a very difficult, very large piece of land, do it within our budget, do it professionally, and really be a guide and resource for us as well. I also wanted someone who knew their way around plants because we wanted a yard full of fruit trees but did not even know where to start. One of my family friends said they had seen a thread on Yorba Linda's News You Can Use facebook page about recommended landscapers, and after tracking down the thread I found a really great review of a company called Dynamic Landscape that had just completed a renovation on their property. I looked up the company and sent an email out requesting a consultation. Not only did it not cost for a consultation, we heard back the same evening, a consultation was scheduled for the next day (a weekend none the less!). Tavin showed up right on time, professional demeanor, and two minutes into our conversation my husband and I knew that this was the landscaper for us. Tavin has been in the business 17 years, and he knew his stuff! Bonus for us, he was a horticulture major, so he knew all about the best plants for the area, where to get them, and how to landscape with them. He worked up an amazing plan based off of our discussion and delivered it a few days later. He worked with our budget, gave us lots of options, never once tried to take us for something that we didn't need, and he really worked WITH us to bring our dream to life. Just two weeks after meeting they broke ground on our property, which is almost a several thousand square foot side lot that had been used as a BMX track, filled with berms and weeds and old sprinkler systems, and our front yard that was full of grass that wouldn't stay green. We also have a 200 ft long parkway that needed desperate TLC as well. It was a disaster of epic proportions to say the least before they started. I can not speak highly enough of Tavin and his crew. They showed up with uniforms on identifying who they were and who they worked with, and they were so wonderful and so hard working! They were doing this in the 100+ degree heat which was even more impressive. Tavin was great and would make sure everything was on track, and he was never more than a call/email/or text away. He made us feel like family. If we had any concerns or questions, he was here in person to discuss them and it was amazing. The crew got this project done in just a few weeks, which considering the size, was absolutely unbelievable. They installed several thousand feet of artificial turf that is high quality and stunning, they put in a concrete sidewalk that is gorgeous, along with electrical, light posts, water spouts, and lovely seat walls. Tavin hand picked our fruit trees for us, and placed each one of our 14 trees around the property by hand. He picked the most stunning trees and every single thing he did was done with the utmost consideration of what our desires were for the property, and what would be the best for the property and the plants. There were many instances of sheer brilliance by his team that just transformed this job and our property from us saying "Great, that is just want I wanted!" to "Oh My Gosh! I didn't even know that was what I wanted and now that you mention it you are an absolute genius!!!!!" They really really really know what they are doing, both Tavin and his team, and I don't think any company out there could have done a better job on our front yard and side lot than he and his team. They transformed a complete eyesore and water money pit into something that looks like a gorgeous neighborhood park, and we know we will be running people off our property who thought it was a public park. Thanks to Tavin and his team we now have our own park for our kids, a nearly no-water needed landscaping treatment, and enough fruit trees to put together our own CSA boxes.
