But unfortunately, I had a serious issue with the mussel dish I was served. When the bowl arrived, most of the mussels were completely closed, which is a huge red flag for anyone familiar with seafood. I flagged it right away to avoid getting sick, and while the server acknowledged it and took off $4, that felt like a very minimal gesture for a dish that could have caused food poisoning. I'm grateful I caught it before taking a bite, but serving unopened shellfish isn't just a minor mistake it's a health hazard.
