Blackened Yellowfin Tuna, asparagus, Honey Glazed Carrots

Dinner tonight was the best meal of our week-long vacation! We love to eat at local restaurants where there's a good chance we might get to try something special and Christopher's Eats did not disappoint. First, the restaurant has a cool vibe and the people are nice. You get the feeling that the people coming and going know what they're getting when they walk in and it's what keeps them coming back. My seared tuna steak with mango salsa, carrots, and asparagus was perfectly prepared and far better than what you'd get at a chain restaurant. I forgot to mention the fries with pimento cheese as an appetizer... They were the best fries I think I've ever had. For dessert, if there's something to know about Christopher, it's that his scratch-made cheesecakes are amazing. Tonight's special was key lime cheesecake. No. Regrets. If I could stick around longer; I'd like to work my way through everything on the menu. Great options for kids too! A corndog with applesauce hit the spot. If you're in the area and haven't eaten here yet, you're missing out!

Arrived at 8:00 p.m. on a Friday night. Our entrees, appetizers, and drinks arrived in about 10 minutes. Not necessarily in that order. I ordered the meatloaf with sweet potato wedges and Brussels sprouts. The meatloaf was a bit on the anemic side. Imagine what you might be served at an upscale French restaurant and that is about the portion of the meatloaf, roughly the size of a tennis ball. It was very moist and quite good as were the sides. The sweet potato wedges were basically sweet potato fries with the skins on and maybe six in total. Again, fewer than expected. The house salad was great. Not just romaine with carrot shavings. It had mixed greens, including spinach, carrots, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The dressings are all made in house. Our server was attentive and fantastic. Brought refills before needing them or asking. The ambiance is definitely higher class but the dress is casual. I would definitely return.

    Spinach artichoke dip & chips.

As an "out of towner" who is checking out the "local" eats instead of big chains, I was not impressed here. I'll say our waitress was friendly, and our drinks never got empty because she sat a fancy glass bottle of our drink on our table so that we could refill our drinks. It was just my husband and I. Our appetizer came out quickly (spinach artichoke dip) and it was delicious. The chips had a seasoning on them that were really delicious. Our food took forever to come out though. They weren't busy, so it was confusing. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a burger. The restaurant is located in a corner of a little strip mall, the ambiance is low lighting with little candles on your table. They had a beautiful Christmas tree in the main area downstairs. Overall, it was good but not somewhere I'd make sure to tell people to rush to if they're in the area.

Gouda Mac & Cheese, Truffle Fries and Meatloaf

Casual pub vibe with great bar service. Meatloaf with Gouda Mac & Cheese were filling/delicious. The truffle fries weren't crispy and the seasoning was powdery/chalky. Kitchen didn't bring our meals out together. So this went from a 5 to 4 review based on that service failure and the letdown on the fries.

Corn Chowder soup of the day. It is absolutely delicious and unlike any corn chowder I have ever tasted.

Our family discovered Christophers Eats on Yelp, while passing through town on the way to North Carolina. Our visit was stellar from start to finish. First, the inside of this building is warm and cozy. The staff was equally warm and friendly. Second, the service was lightning-fast. I have received quick and great service at other establishments in the past, but our experience at Christopher's Eats was definitely one of the best. But now let's talk about the star of the evening: the food. Christopher's offers a nice wine list, including both whites and reds. I chose a pleasant glass of Riesling. Next we ordered Bruschetta for an appetizer, along with a cup of corn chowder, which was their soup of the day. This was unlike any corn chowder I have ever tasted. It featured giant-sized chunks of potato and a beef-like broth. It was so good! It was an especially nice dish on a cold, rainy evening. For our entree, each of us ordered the Bison Burger but each with different sides. I ordered the shaved brussel sprouts while my husband ordered the truffle fries. Both sides were delicious, though my husband commented that the fries has a bit too much parmesan cheese for his liking. I sampled them and thought they were quite good. I typically don't care for truffle fries but I would definitely order them at Christopher's Eats. Finally, the burger. It was juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I even liked the caramelized onions on top, which is something I don't normally enjoy. In this case, they really added to the overall flavor of the burger. Yum! I highly recommend Christopher's Eats! So the next time you're in the neighborhood, stop in for a bite. Bon Appétit!

Waitress was great but quality and quantity of food does not match the price. Way too overpriced. Definitely wouldn't go back.

Bruno's Spotted Hare is fantastic…read more I stopped by recently with a family member while visiting, having heard good initial things about this restaurant. The space is gorgeous; it has the dark coziness of a lodge with beautiful, wild-inspired accents. We were seated in a booth near the window: the booth was comfortable but may be a tight squeeze if two larger adults are sitting on the same side (I'd recommend asking for a table in that case). I started off with an American Trilogy cocktail and loved it; it was surprisingly smooth and easy to drink while being flavorful. We debated appetizer options but went with the sourdough bread and butters. The butters were rosemary, garlic, and sorghum, and while all were great, the sorghum was a favorite. The bread was flavorful and nicely chewy. I'm always happy to see a vegetarian-friendly soup on a menu, so I ordered the beans and greens soup and loved it. It has a very deep flavor, yet the beans weren't overly mushy. The server (who was amazing) recommended some Tabasco for adding heat, which I enjoyed. For entrées, my dining partner got the fried chicken on the server's recommendation, and I got the mushroom pasta. The fried chicken was described by my relative as a crunchy coating with a moist meat; they called it "the best fried chicken" they've had. I tasted the mashed potatoes and can happily vouch for them, as they were creamy and perfectly seasoned. My dining partner raved about the home-style green beans, too. My mushroom pasta was fantastic. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were flavorful without being slimy or mushy. The pasta was hearty and cooked al dente. As a pleasant surprise. I got a couple slices of bread with my pasta, too; this time topped with some cheese and seasoning. It was perfect for soaking up the last bits of pasta sauce, as I cleaned my plate. I got dessert to go; it was the cornmeal pound cake and packaged conveniently (with the ice cream separate). It was delicious even at home; the cake itself wasn't too sweet, meaning that the combination of it, the ice cream, and the honey had a perfect balance of flavor. I will try to make a special trip here whenever I'm in the area. It's a beautiful, special addition to the local dining scene.
