After my consultation I scheduled my surgery for 1/12/2023. I should have noticed a red flag as prior to the surgery literally every time I tried to reach out to the Syracuse location for questions/concerns I was always forwarded to their forwarding center. I was told that the Syracuse location was having staffing issues, but that is no reason to not get back to me, especially after my surgery. Even then, the agent I spoke with was never able to reach the Syracuse location. They always told me that they will have the Syracuse location reach out to me after 72 hours (they only did once out of the numerous calls I made). Regardless, the agent was always nice/friendly so I didn't see this as a red flag. When I came in for surgery I was greeted by very friendly/helpful staff, and during the surgery everything went well to which I was prepared to provide a 5* exceptional review. However, after you make the payment, have the surgery, and go home you better hope that everything goes perfectly. I tried to reach back out to them the day after my surgery because I thought I lost my antibiotic drops, and of course the Syracuse location did not answer to which I was forwarded to the forwarding location. They sent the Syracuse location an email informing them that this needs attention asap and that they would get back to me within 24 hours. 24 hours is a long time to wait for! **especially the day after the procedure** This call was made 1/13/2023 around 3pm, and I never got a response from them! Thankfully I was able to find my antibiotics, but in the instance they were lost I would be in deep trouble with literally no assistance from this business. As a customer, they made me feel as if once they have my money and perform the surgery, they do not care about anything after the post-op, which is horrible as this is a surgical medical procedure where post-op care should be a priority! Note-I did call the number for the location, and also called another number they provided for emergencies. BOTH times I was forwarded to their forwarding center, and I was coincidentally speaking with the same agent (Jasmine) both times. Though she was friendly, there was nothing she could do except inform me that she will try to have the Syracuse location get back to me within 24 hours (they never did as explained above). I am very grateful/fortunate that my procedure went well, but in the instance it did not, this business is UNRELIABLE to even have the surgery location reach back out. IN SUM, I strongly recommend not using this provider until they sort their staffing situation out, as post-op is the most critical stage in recovery and if they are unable to get someone to reach back out your vision is at serious risk! The only reason they are getting 2* instead of 1* is because the actual procedure went well, but not being able to contact them post-surgery is frightening! read more

The pros; the initial process is very easy and pleasing to deal with. A consultation over the phone with very polite people turns into a meeting at the Office where they evaluate the severity of your situation and make recommendations as to what Eye surgery works best for you. They even offer financing to help pay for the surgery. The day of the surgery they prep you they explain what's going to happen and they're very patient with you getting you through the process. You have to go back 24 hours later so they can confirm the success of the surgery and then it's time for your eyes to heal. The cons; you better hope everything goes perfect with your surgery. If there are any complications they do everything in their power not to take care of you! I have developed a prism in one of my eyes that is visible all day and night pending the brightness of the light. When I first noticed it they told me I had to give it six months for my eyes to heal. I did that problem continued they told me it could take up to a year for your eyes to heal. The one-year mark it and I still have the issue every time I tried calling I would get the free consultation line did you speak with the beginning of your journey. The attempt to connect to the branch that does your surgery and nobody ever answers the phone. Then they tell you they're going to escalate it to their supervisor and I should receive a phone call within 48 hours and I never received that phone call. This is happened to me for three months straight. Finally I get through and they want to set me up with an eyedrop medication that cost over $500. I try reaching out to them because my insurance before information and they still do not return my phone calls nor do they call the pharmacy to help rectify the situation. They clearly only want money and do not care about what happens after the surgery if I could I would've given it zero stars! We were told the procedure would take an hour but the doctor over booked and took it's way too many patients. I would not recommend him based on time management skills. My SO went in at 8:30 and scans were done until 9:30. He was told he could leave at 10:30 for the latest but it is now 12:00pm and the doctor has not cleared him. Based on this experience, the patients all sitting in the middle of a waiting room for hours, IMO, quantity is trumping quality at this practice. read more

I've wanted to get my vision fixed for a long time and I am glad I waited to go to this office. My buddy refered me and I got 20% off the surgery, which was crazy awesome. Every staff member is so friendly and nice. They are real upfront with you on what to expect whether its the good or bad; which I really appreciated. I hate doctors that leave details out so you don't freak out. These people tell you up front what to expect and it makes everything easier. I had some issues with the call center and the girls up front dealt with it without any issues!! They handled it amazingly. I had Lasik on Nov 7th of 2023, it was a challenging decision for me as I have worn contacts ever since I was 16 and never had a problem with them. I finally decided that for a Birthday gift to myself I was going to finally ditch the glasses and contacts! When I got there I met Essence, she is an amazing employee and could see that I was quite nervous about the whole process. She assured me that everything was going to be just fine and it would all be over before I knew it! She was not wrong, the whole process took about 6 minutes from the time they took me in until the time I was done. Once home, I had questions and once again I called and spoke to Essence and she was so very informative and very kind and knowledgeable about what I had been through! Now 3 months later, I wanted to make sure that I was seeing the way I should be as I was a little worried that I couldn't see 20/20. She brought me into the room and had me read the letter and then reduced them and had me read them again, I was basically just 2 off from 20/15. She put my mind at ease and told me that I was doing great and to not worry. The Dr. was quick and thorough and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Finally had it done. Everything went as smooth as silk from the pre-op on. Although some people might have discomfort about their eyes being touched, let me assure you that before you even go into the procedure room, they numb your eyes. The procedure itself takes no time at all. Perhaps 20-30 minutes max if that. Then you sit around in a darkened room in your rock star sunglasses with others and rest until you are called for a final check. The first evening is a bit trying because you can't read, watch TV etc etc and you spend your first night in bed in your groovy shades. No post op discomfort and I woke up for the 1st time in my life able to see!!! The surgeon, the optometrist the nurse, manager,admin, all very welcoming and friendly. If you're considering this procedure, then I really don't think anywhere could be better. This made a traumatic experience into a relatively peaceful morning. read more

Unprofessional, rushed and disorganized. Multiple times I was told it takes 2 hours max for the procedure. I wanted 2.5 hours and hadn't even had the numbing drops put in (which take 20 minutes to go into effect, then the procedure, then you wait a while for observation). What should have been 2 hours was going to take 4 hours. No one likes to have their time wasted. Not once did anyone come back and say sorry for the wait, this isn't typical (which is a 30 second interaction at most). Only 1 nice person works there, a woman with silvery hair. I talked to Maggie how someone should have spoken to me and said sorry for the long wait and she made excuses and said But they were busy. I said it takes 8 seconds to tell someone sorry for the inconvenience, as you just did. No one deserves to be ignored and she was dismissive over the phone. I explained I used PTO when I clearly didn't need to. They also don't tell you you'll need to wear glasses in the shower and to sleep and when you go outside for a week, that's not mentioned in the consultation which is why I think they aren't very transparent. My appointment was at 4, I would have been finished with the procedure around 7:30 at the rate they were going and its simply rude and inconsiderate how they conducted the process. If I had lived an hour away I wouldn't be getting home until late. A day of feeling anxious from the anticipation of a procedure that never happened because they have poor communication. When I said I would like a refund the guy said they could do it after the procedure of the girl ahead of me and that has to be the most absurd thing I've heard in an office. They need to be on the same page and simply say we're sorry, we will refund you and you'll see it on your card tomorrow. Expecting someone to wait another half hour isn't logical. Lastly-the optometrist seemed impatient during the dilation and I wanted to say do you have somewhere you need to be right now? These are my eyes, they're important and the institute is receiving nearly 4k from me so you can treat me like a human being. Incredibly disappointing. read more

I had Lasik done 7/2018 and this was the best decision I've ever made! I had my free consultation in May, had to figure out my work schedule and made the appt a few weeks prior to my surgery. The day of surgery the longest part was waiting to go in. There is pre testing and they give you numbing eye drops. Once you go in, Dr. Morason looks at your eyes, you lay on the bed and the procedure starts. Dr. Morason explains everything as he goes through the process. It was over within a 10-15 minutes. The laser does have a smell to it but it goes away quickly. That day of surgery, all I did was sleep and rest on the couch, which I felt was the best thing for me. My eyes were pretty sensitive, they didn't really hurt, they were just irritated. Make sure you stay on schedule for your eye drops and you wear your sunglasses they give you! I had 20/20 vision the next day and at my 1 week I had 20/15! My eye sight is still adjusting but does get better everyday. I highly recommend this and wish I had this done sooner! read more
