Avoid! Did business here for years, and although it always felt too expensive, it was solid work…read moreand decent customer service. A few years ago I had JK add fuel injection, a sniper system, disc brakes, radiator, and new AC to my 68' Mustang. Had some issues with the sniper system within the first two years but they were good about making that right. The AC unit was a different story. The unit never worked and always blew lukewarm air. When I first got the car back, I noticed it blew lukewarm air. Thought ok, maybe it's just an old cars AC. Drove it once that summer and garaged it. The next summer I drive it a couple times and notice the same thing, so I call JK. The sales rep leads me to believe it's probably normal if it was sort of cool. I didn't think much of it. I drive the car maybe 2x to town that summer and never need the AC. I park it in the garage for the fall & winter after the shop fixes the sniper system. This year I take the car out for its maiden voyage. I turn the AC on. It still blows lukewarm air. This just doesn't sit right with me for a new AC unit. I call JK and this sales guy tells me to bring it in cause it should be similar to AC in newer cars. I bring it in. When I bring it in the sales rep tells me he doesn't have a clear record that it went over to the company that does the charging for them but I did get charged for it, so he "assumed" it was done. I ask if he can confirm this. He says the company changed their record system recently so there likely isn't a record. So ok, I'm thinking, there's no clear record here that this thing ever got charged so that's the issue. Couple weeks go by, I get an emailed invoice that says it needed charged, had a faulty switch, and needed some new wiring. I'm sent an $800+ bill. Now keep in mind, the AC has never worked and I've prob driven the car 5x (they probably know that from comparing their service notes and my current odometer). At this point I feel a bit slighted in getting an $800+ bill, especially after spending thousands for a new AC system that's never worked. So I call the owner to discuss and understand the charges better. He says the AC unit is outside the manufacturer warranty and that older cars just need the AC charged sometimes when they sit. Ok fine, I don't agree (I've owned many old rigs), but I'll let the AC charging cost go. But charging me for the faulty switch, wiring, and labor still felt wrong, especially since there's a possibility it was due to their install work. I explain to the owner multiple times that it never worked and I called in to staff prior. He asks me over and over, "are you trying to make me pay for your car and your maintenance?" I tell him that I'm actually paying twice for work on a brand new AC unit that should've worked properly. So he asks me what I want, I express that I'd be willing to split the costs. He says he will do it but I am to never come back. I tell him that's over the top over a few hundred bucks and that he can always offer up another solution. We go around in circles and he offers no new solution. I get fed up and tell him I'll just pay the full amount on the last invoice (that had a small 10% discount) and I'll never come back. He tries to remove the small discount from the last invoice. I push back and express to him again that I've spent a lot of money (and I mean a lot) at his business over the years. He tells me that "he will make sure to get on his hands and knees and thank me when I pick my car up." I tell him that's ridiculous. I advise him that I will let people know they should avoid his business. He asks me "are you threatening me?" I say no, it's my right to respond how I'd like in regard to customer service. So here we are... a review. I like helping small businesses and don't mind paying a little more sometimes but I expect good and honest service to come with it, especially for loyal customers. Unfortunately the service here has changed for the worse here. There are other (more affordable) options locally. I'd suggest you avoid the stress and the potential negative interactions.

It's unfortunate to write this because I do like people at work there but after you're almost…read moreexactly a year of the truck being there... Nearly $50,000 Later and My 1974 Ford F-250 Left Unsafe, Incomplete, and Dead in Two Days If you value your vehicle, your wallet, or your safety stay far away from J&K Customs. After paying $47,279.70 across multiple invoices, my 1974 Ford F-250 came back unsafe, incomplete, and barely running. Within 48 hours, it broke down completely and had to be towed again. The Reality: When I brought the truck in, the body was already painted, the engine was already installed (though not yet running), and the main goal was straightforward: Get the truck safely up and running. Their responsibilities were to: * Install and finalize the electrical system including the distributor and Painless Wiring Kit (a modern kit specifically designed to simplify wiring) * Complete the heating and air system using the Classic Air kit, another system designed for easy installation * Finalize the fuel system * Install the exhaust system * And update/replace key steering components Of all that work, the only systems completed properly were the fuel system and exhaust. Steering (thankfully) Everything else electrical, HVAC, was left unfinished, unsafe, or nonfunctional. Billing & Authorization: Throughout the process, I repeatedly requested estimates before any work was performed. By spring/early summer, those estimates stopped altogether replaced by after-the-fact invoices. After receiving the second-to-last one, I made it crystal clear: "No more invoices ...estimates only." I said. That was ignored. Same way my email depicting all this was ignored last week Later, I was billed $4,170.50 (Invoice #20464) for work never authorized. Invoice #19317 alone charged over $7,000 in labor for the Painless Wiring Kit a system specifically designed to make things easy. PAINLESS And yet, when I got the truck back, it had: * Nonfunctional tachometer and speedometer (confirmed by the tow truck driver who picked it up) * Electrical drain that killed the battery within two days * Loose wires and trash in the cab and engine bay * Right rear brake light dead * Cab/dome light switch failed (only works when the door opens) * Fuel-tank vent hose hanging toward the ground * Loose U-bolts and lug nuts, which their staff said made it unsafe -- yet they still released it that way What Happened After Pickup: When the truck arrived home, it was nearly out of gas. It ran out of fuel in my own driveway during warm-up before I could even get it into the garage. That's why it couldn't gain speed -- it was literally running on fumes. After refueling, I checked the "safety issues" they mentioned. Using spare lug nuts, I tightened the wheels myself and replaced the U-bolt nuts they said were unsafe. Once that was corrected, I drove the truck about 800 meters up my property driveway to check basic function. That's when the driveshaft between the transmission and divorced transfer case broke a joint ...completely failing within minutes. I had to tow it back again. So within two days of pickup: * It ran out of gas, * It was unsafe to drive, * It broke a driveshaft, and * It was dead in my driveway. Pattern of Negligence: This wasn't the first time I trusted J&K with a vehicle. I also brought in my Ford Raptor for a simple Baja Designs fog-light install. When I picked it up, yes, the lights worked -- but the speedometer immediately stopped working. Within a month, the fog-light switch failed completely. Maybe one out of fifty clicks would get them to turn on. Two vehicles. Two jobs. Same outcome: sloppy work, no quality control, no accountability. Communication: I sent J&K a professional, detailed email outlining every issue and requested a written response. Seven days passed ... no acknowledgment, no phone call, no attempt to resolve anything. Bottom Line: J&K Customs took nearly $50,000, ignored clear instructions, billed unauthorized work, and returned a vehicle that was unsafe, incomplete, and mechanically compromised. They released my truck with loose steering components, dead instruments, and wiring issues then vanished when I asked for answers. The fuel , exhaust systems, fabrication for gas tank were done correctly but those are the only parts of this entire job that reflect any professionalism. All the faults are documented with the photos and video. If you care about your vehicle, your safety, or your sanity do not take it to J&K Customs.
