But today they really knocked it out of the ballpark when my boyfriend of two years very unexpectedly asked me to marry him, and we went to the Gem Gallery and found the perfect ring. I am so grateful to Ellie, Sonya, & Jason for making today happen; I was able to walk out with the most gorgeous Montana sapphire that matches my eyes! Plus since my partner and I are both native Montanans, it means so much to us. Plus, Brandon has just always been great at helping me with a myriad other things I will not go for jewelry anywhere else in town! For some reason, Yelp is not letting me check value, but I do feel that the jewelry in the store is fairly priced and the workmanship is unprecedented!

I was warned that tanzanite is a soft stone, and scratches easily. I'm kind of hard on my physical belongings...not the most graceful character, really. The tanzanite became progressively more scratched and muddy, dull and opaque. And then -- tragedy! I lost one of the tiny diamonds (I guess I shouldn't have worn the ring scuba-diving). My plan: get the ring repaired (new diamond), resized (I'd lost 70 lbs and it was loose), and replace the tanzanite with a sapphire. The Gem Gallery was recommended to me not only because they are purveyors of fine Yogo Montana sapphires (which are aren't strip-mined in Asia using slave labor, and don't fund anybody's murderous wars), but because they do quality work. Sure enough, they repaired the ring perfectly (you can't tell the tiny diamonds apart, and you can't tell that the ring's been resized), and they found THE ideal Yogo sapphire -- a deep purple-blue that is my absolute favorite color (and a rare color in sapphires). (It changes color, depending on the light!) They corresponded with me cheerfully and kept me informed of progress, and they even took some old gold rings of mine that I don't wear in exchange (for the price of the gold), making the total cost of the repair quite affordable. I had a great experience, and would happily recommend the Gem Gallery to anyone looking for custom work. Their website is dynamite, too -- you can see their whole inventory, and purchase things securely online. Did I mention that my total transactions with the Gem Gallery took place online, and across an international border (I'm in Canada)? Very impressive.

He proposed in March and I wore it out only on special occasions (I work with my hands) and by November, I noticed a large chip in my stone. We went in to the store in person to have the ring evaluated for structural issues and discuss potential solutions. The floor rep seemed very surprised at the setting, claiming the stone was too thin to be set in this manner. The issue was brought to the owner, who blew us off. They offered to start over and reset the stone in a more secure setting (at our expense, of course) and offered no reasoning as to why this could have happened. I called later to discuss the situation with the owner, who was incredibly condescending and offered no recourse. To quote Cec, "If you drive a car off the lot and get in an accident, do you call and complain to the sales rep?" As far as I'm concerned, if you buy a brand new car, drive it off the lot, and have a mechanical issue at 2,000 miles, you sure do. They send their jewelry off to be set by a third party and finish the design work in house. If they weren't able to come up with a design to support this diamond for basic wear, I wonder what we actually paid them for... The diamond in question was cut in the late 1800s... it made it all the way to Miller's in 2025 and then didn't make it more than 7 months of light wear. I'm sure their showroom pieces purchased from 3rd parties is fine but if you have custom work or require skilled service, I'd save your valuables and yourself the headache and head elsewhere. That's what we'll be doing.

I wear a small, small size (4.5) and was worried some of my diamonds might fall out if we resized the ring that small. Erin conferred with someone else in back, and they agreed that, yes, it was risky to go down to such a small size from a 7, which is what the ring is now. So what she did? Ordered me a new ring, and told us when it arrives, we can just exchange it!! How amazing. And in the meantime, I can still wear my ring! To top it off, she even put a re-sizer on the ring and now it fits great while we wait for the new one to arrive. How incredibly above and beyond!!! She helped us look at men's wedding bands afterwards, and was super patient, fun, and knowledgeable. Excellent experience. ***EDIT*** In February, I had a negative experience at Riddle's with two of the gals who work there. I previously wrote about my experience on Yelp, and have since then deleted it because... Erin L. from Riddle's personally contacted me to let me know that not only was she going to review the security cameras, but she also ensured me that they are going to correct the issue and make sure the experience doesn't reoccur. Erin has done nothing wrong, yet still even offered to apologize to me in person. I wouldn't expect her to apologize for others' behaviors, since her excellence in customer service far-exceeds my expectations, and eliminates any wrongs that had been done. Erin single-handedly earned our business back by showing she cares and wants to do business the old-fashioned way: with kindness, mutual respect, and appreciation. Erin, if you read this, thank you so much. We GLADLY will return, work with you, and keep all of our jewelry purchases confined to Riddle's in the future.

In my mind I'm thinking how many rugs could you possibly sell to the people that live in the area since Bozeman's not that big. And it's not like you're buying a $10,000 rug every year. Their rugs are of the highest quality and therefore also have an appropriate price tag. And no, they're not all $10,000 . But understand , this is not Big lot material. Can you buy one of their their crafted rugs? It's lasting 20 years . They have a huge selection of every size, shape and color that you could possibly imagine. It did hit my dream bucket to be able to buy nice rugs from there. It's a family operation that has been around for many, many years, which is why they're in the location that they're in and not off in some Warehouse outside of town. The owner was very friendly and took the time to answer my questions about the different kind of rugs and where they came from. There Is also of the decor that you can purchase so guess that they probably have a good clientele of decorators and designers that use their rugs and decor decorating the fancy chalets that are in the area. TLDR: I would hesitate to purchase anything from this shop given that they do not stand behind their products (I notice another reviewer had a similar issue). Imagine not having a pair of skis, or in my case gloves, for a month of your season. I would also recommend checking your credit card for double charges, particular with respect to rentals, which I was lucky to catch. I purchased a pair of gloves and almost immediately found that a seem was ripped. When I attempted to return the gloves the following day, I was told it was going to be a warranty issue and they couldn't take them back. They would have to warranty it. I even offered to just have the gloves fixed myself if they waived a $25 day of boot rentals (they declined and I was actually double charged instead...). I was annoyed but trusted they would sort it all out so I went with it. It took me several follow ups, and waiting almost a month to find that they had finally been warrantied. But wait, Uphill had the gloves dispatched to their own store, knowing the whole time that I also live out of town. With that additional error, it was going to be an additional $15 fee to ship to me and a further delay. This feels very deliberate as it was at this point that they finally offered a refund...almost a month later? Their response says it all: "- most dealers request that we make sure that they will process the warranty before we issue new product or a refund...so that dealers like us aren't left with products that are neither resell-able or warranty-able. " As my wife (who works in retail) pointed out, now that they have a new pair of gloves they can sell, of course they can refund me - they took no risk that the gloves wouldn't be warrantied. They let me carry all of that risk and then in the end made sure they were the ones who got to keep the new gloves. Dear Management: There is no good company on earth that would ever treat their customers out like this. I would love for a store like yours to be a success, but you need to look out for us the customer. This experience feels so dirty - any number of actions on your part could have made it feel like a good experience, and you would have received a great review instead of this. Dear Potential Customer: You're a recent MSU grad looking to celebrate, an out of towner who needs some gear for a fun adventure, or just an average guy or gal looking to get into backcountry skiing. Picture yourself excitedly buying a $1,500 dollar pair of skis from a cool store and then having no support the second the money has left your account - look what they did for me over a $100 item, imagine something big ticket. I just can't say I'd recommend making that purchase here.

I am giving the store a rating of one star for my most recent experience there. I have been to the…read morestore twice for salon services, but I have been getting my hair done regularly at Ulta in a different state for years. I recently moved to the area, so thought carefully I would continue getting my hair done at Ulta. I went in for a partial highlight after having a full highlight done around eight weeks prior with a different stylist there. I booked with the first available stylist because I had an event coming up out of state. I figured partial highlights isn't something that should really be a challenge for a stylist lol. Boy, was I wrong. There were a lot of red flags when I sat down in the chair as hard talking to the Stylist, but I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. She said she's been doing hair often and on for like 20 years, which was the first red flag. She said she only works weekends, which is another red flag and said she's pursuing a degree in another field another red flag. When I had arrived, I told her I wanted to be as blonde as possible. When she was mixing the bleach and developer I heard another stylist talking to her about being surprised my stylist she was using a certain brand of product, which I assume was the bleach. The other Stylist said something along the lines of her being surprised because they usually only use that type as a last resort when they're out of the main type. She was very sweet, but she really didn't do a good job. She asked me if they ever put me under the hairdryer and I said no. She then put me under the hair dryer. I didn't feel like the bleach was on my hair long enough. I requested my stylist use the toner in the notes from my previous visits. When she was washing my hair in the bowl, I didn't know what she was doing. I had to ask if she was using the Ola Plex. She also was like scrubbing on strands of my hair. I felt like I was sitting at the bowl for 30 minutes and she was rubbing the top of my hair strands constantly. It was very irritating and causing me a little bit of pain honestly. I kind of wondered if she was freaking out while I was at the bowl and trying to add more bleach and maybe that's why I spent so much time there. I don't really know what was going on though. Usually I'm left at the bowl while the toner is on and also after the OA Plex is applied, but she had her hands on my scalp constantly. After she use the blow dryer on my hair and I got to look at it. I was just kind of observing it in the mirror and didn't say anything right away. I noticed it looked brassy in spots and I didn't noticed and knew BLONDE really. My roots mostly looked untouched. I didn't say anything but she spoke up and said something like, "oh it looks kind of yellow or brassy in here because of the light." Idon't remember if she said, yellow or brassy necessarily, but I didn't think it was a good sign she mentioned it before I did. Another Stylist interjected and said "oh your hair looks good." This was the same Stylist that did my hair the first time and the only reason it looked decent is because it had only been maybe eight weeks since SHE had done it lol. If you look at the pictures, you can see there's like splotchy areas, and it doesn't even look like my roots were touched. Some areas are brassy or kind of orange looking. These photos were taken nine days after I left the salon. I trusted them and hoped that maybe it really was the lighting. I was in denial. I wasn't rude and left a tip. I washed it a couple times in next week and it still didn't improve. I was busy traveling and then called Ulta I believe on day 11 or 12 after my appointment and spoke with a manager. I requested a partial refund because the results were poor and I've been a customer with Ulta for years. It's disappointing to spend so much money for a service and get poor results. The manager said she'd have to discuss with the GM and call me back. The manager did call me back later in the day, and said that the GM denied my request for any type of refund because I didn't call within seven days. I asked her how I was supposed to know there was a timeframe that I should call in. I really don't see how that's my fault that I wasn't informed that there is a policy for when I should call and request a refund or report I am unhappy with services. I think that's very unfair. She said the stylist has only been there about a month, so I guess that makes it OK for the service quality and lack of info. She offered me a discounted toning service, but I'm not interested at this time. Overall, I think the customer service is very poor and I think everyone should know that they have the seven day policy because I was never informed. So please, if you're unhappy with your service there, call them up within seven days.
