I had a load of clothes to do last Sunday morning and stopped at the Ames branch of Squeaky Clan. Everything seemed to be there: nice washer and dryers, roomy and clean facilities, a place to purchase laundry detergent, and an ATM to get cash (which I did). But! The change machine was out-of-order! So without a source of quarters and no available means to put this on a credit card, I was basically screwed. Onwards to Squeaky Clean in Boone.....

There are two locations of the laundry place in Ankeny and this is for the newer one next to a…read morebagel shop. This place started off really well. Plenty of machines, the cleanliness, the openness were all great. But over the past year, it has all gone downhill. I put money in the change machine, a $20 bill in fact and received only $1.25 in change. I left three notes and made two phone calls and was assured that I would be reimbursed. Two months later still nothing. And more and more machines are tagged as out of order. What happened to this place in the past year? Poor management and maintenance.

The clothes did seem a little wet coming out of the washers. There weren't any employees working, but I had no issues. Street and lot parking are available. The facilities were clean and empty on a Monday afternoon. I GREATLY appreciated that there wasn't much of a laundry scent, as I am sensitive to fragrances. Bring cash or quarters. There is a change machine, but no atm. I would definitely come here again!
