I honestly don't know if they're inexperienced or just have never worked with a Black woman's curves before, but not one, not two, but three of my dresses were completely botched. After the first round of alterations, the owner tried to gaslight me, saying they had only adjusted the strap for my burgundy dress (which was never the main issue). I initially asked for the sides to be taken in because the bust area was too big, but somehow, that got lost in translation. So I paid AGAIN, for all to be fixed and what I got back was even worse. Everything felt rushed, uneven, and downright sloppy. I bawled my eyes out because these dresses were meant for my birthday trip. The white dress? It was the most horrendous one, imagine the outline of Sarah Baartman on a modern-day garment. That's how distorted the shape was. She has always been friendly, patient, and extremely helpful. On Wednesday 8/28/24 another woman was working. She was minimally helpful, never leaving the front desk to assist, told me I used too much soap AFTER I had made that determination myself, and did not come across as terribly friendly. (When I told her I could not see the top of the machine to clearly see where the detergent went, her response was, "I'm shorter than you." Why yes, she was shorter, but a stool would have been helpful. After struggling I notice one at the end of the row of machines. Now let's discuss the condition of the facility. It appeared dark, though the photo I took clearly showed lights were on. The mural on the side wall was cute. Only one ceiling fan, with blades drooping, was spinning, the sole portable fan was directed at the employee at the front desk, and there were so many bags of laundry awaiting pick up they extended 6-8 feet from the front windows toward the machines. There were no benches or chairs to sit at. I waited in my car with the window open as it was more comfortable than inside. The only instructions for machine operation were what appeared in the LED window or small labels on each machine. They did not cover detergent or fabric soften instructions, rather focusing on collecting money and choosing your cycle specifications. I had recently used a facility while on vacation that had a large sign on the wall explaining step by step use with diagrams. Yes, it seems excessive, but it certainly made things perfectly clear. In summary, I missed Linda and there is much opportunity to improve the physical location.

When they began to bring back our clothes, a LOT of items were badly stained and damaged. One expensive coat not only had several new stains but looked like a dog attacked it... giant rip. A brand new cashmere sweater, never worn, was torn and newly discolored. When we finally got back what they said was everything, we began to notice items missing. Many of them were expensive. Many hadn't been worn and still had tags. Sals was unresponsive for many weeks. They never provided an inventory, only got that provided by our insurer who sent us their invoice. Many items on that invoice were not returned! We lost $10k plus of our belongings not even counting the dozens of items damaged and severely stained. Horrible! Don't ever do business with this unscrupulous company!!!
