My wife and I have been going to Key West for decades and have stayed in a majority of the hotels there but this time we decided to stay here for our 30th wedding anniversary. I have to tell you that customer service is through the roof here. They were so very accommodating. We arrived at 1 PM knowing that if there was not a room available, we would have to wait until 4 PM but as soon as we arrived, they gave us a beautiful room. The room was spacious, clean, and very relaxing and inviting. The staff text me every day to see if there was anything that they could do for us. When it started to rain, they offered us complementary rain ponchos. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel as it is obvious that they want to make a reputation for themselves for being a hotel with a high level of customer service. First, if we could give below one star we would. I work in property management back in Missouri so am very well aware of mold and mildew and what is uninhabitable and what is not. Myself, my fiance and my 12 year old son and 6 year old daughter checked in on July 9, 2026. We were room #416. We walked in and the smell of mildew and mold was unmistakable. My six year old daughter immediately started coughing. In normal circumstances mold takes longer to show and the smell would not be that prominent if it was a small amount of mold or mildew. We attempted to air out the room for a few hours while driving our golf cart around town. When we got back the smell was just as bad so I went down to the front desk. The lady was very nice, which is the only decent thing I can say about this property and the employees... But I will get there to the rest and you will understand why. The front desk told me she will have the manager call me in the morning, once 11am came and I did not hear anything I called and was immediately sent to the managers voicemail which was a male. Come 1:30pm I call back for a follow up and I get transferred to the guest service relations manager where I am told no refund or partial refund can be provided since they were not able to rent the suite. Which is astounding to me they would even attempt to re-book that suite after the information I provided. The Guest Relations manager did not seem to like what I said, keep in mind the discussion was very calm and I stated I understand but this is unacceptable that we were even rented that suite to begin with. She then without telling me, transfered me to another managers voicemail where once again I requested a call back to speak with someone. On a better note, we ended up having to book another hotel the night of July 9, 2026 due to the uninhabitable conditions of this location and they were overly accommodating. We highly recommend The Galleon. They couldn't believe either they would rent us a suite like this. I guess you get what you get from being 18 hours away at booking time two months ago, but the way you treat tourists says alot about the company and employees especially when it is almost $500.00 to stay at the Laureate and come out smelling like mold. When I say home away from home is what I was looking for, and found it, this is the place for you!!! The pictures I'd seen on the website and the review sites is exactly what you get. When we arrived, we didn't have to wait long at reception. The check-in was quick, smooth and seamless. Parking was easy as well, there is some covered parking, but that lot was typically full. There is additional parking on site as well that is uncovered and provided easy access to get to the elevator. When we entered the room, it was bright and nice and clean, and had all the signs of a good vacation! I loved most that this hotel had a small kitchenette so that we could buy some snacks and drinks for the room. There was a full setup of plates, utensils, pans, microwave, coffee station, and a DISHWASHER!! haha, it's the little things that go a long way. The bathroom was beautifully well lit, and had a huge shower with great temperature and water pressure, and had two entrances, one from the hall and one from the bedroom. As you made your way to the bedroom, you're met with a beautiful glass sliding door that leads you out onto your own private terrace overlooking the beautiful ocean! I loved that there was nothing blocking the view, and that you could see the sunrise every morning! The beds were super comfy, my son loved the robes and slippers that came in the room, so we'd cozy up every night and watch tv! We met some great vacationers in the building as well. There is a small shop in the main lobby where you can buy drinks, snacks, and microwaveable dinners. This is also close to a lot of the stores and restaurants that you could easily walk or bike to as well. Great place to stay and would certainly stay here again on my next trip back. read more

My dad and I have been planning our Key West fishing trip for over a year now. We booked our room at the Laureate 8 months in advance. Today, 5 days before our trip, Laureate canceled our reservation with no call, no communication, and no attempt to fix the problem. This caused us a lot of stress and an extra $400 having to book last minute at another hotel. If I had to guess, they wanted to sell the room at a higher price as we had booked well in advance at a much better price than it is now. When we tried to rebook, the room was gone. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your reservation. This hotel will cancel on you without any communication and leave you without a stay. read more

The place is nice, staff are nice, the only issue was check in with them saying rooms not ready yet multiple times. Then after we leave 15 mins get a text room is now ready and go back and says sorry it's not ready still? We noticed several walls previously damaged with marks. Minor but still an eyesore. The TVs were ok, but they all showed different room numbers to other guests who checked out months ago with their charges still on the screen...smdh! The pool area is right next to route 1 so it can be a bit noisy also a few lizard friends hang out by the pools so beware if you're not a fan of Anole and Iguana. The view is nice off the balcony to the front. The balcony to the back faces village houses and roosters crowing nonstop. The layout is not as described for a 3 bedroom. 1 bedroom is right when you enter next to the kitchen, other 2 are upstairs from a kiddy corner living room next to the balcony. When we looked at the layout it was more spacious. Definitely okay for the price and if you're with others. They should offer a shuttle to downtown Duval street. Or coupons for the golf cart rentals. We Uber'd most of the trip to Duval and around but yeah definitely will stay somewhere closer to the action. Absolutely great hotel, located in good proximity to the island adventures. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Amenities were great. The 3 room 3 both suite was AWESOME. One master king bed on bottom floor, one cali king suite with glass shower bathroom, and a 3rd suite with 2 queens with matching bathroom. 3 balcony exits for a front and rear balcony. I would not recommend this hotel. We were charged a $250 smoking fee despite not smoking inside the room. Management ignored our explanation and refused to refund the charge. The general manager's attitude was unprofessional and dismissive. Travelers should be cautious before booking. read more

The rooms were very clean and spacious! The kitchen was filled with enough culinary to cook. The AC was nice and cool! The pool area was very nice and equipped with bottles of water, cold towels, and pool towels. The facility was very clean and the staff were very kind! The water in the shower did not get super hot unfortunately. You can see the ocean from your balcony, but it did not have beach access. The road between the water and hotel was sometimes loud. It is a 10 minute drive to Duval street! Ride sharing was always available and inexpensive! Overall it is a great place to stay! read more

Great for large groups and very nicely decorated and clean. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We had a 3 bedroom suite and it was just the right size. The room and bathroom sizes are spacious. When we called the staff for extra toiletries, they attended us quickly. Waited about 20 minutes to check in and wasn't even properly greeted which wasn't a very welcoming feeling. Once we got checked in parked in the back, parking was free. Stayed at the Laureate in Key West from 10/23/23 until 10/27/23. Like the chickens, the roaches must be on the endangered species list since they roam about freely at night and hotel staff live communally with them. When told of the issue, hotel staff took a confrontational approach with the guest(s) while defending the hotel's nocturnal population, bugs. The rudeness, lack of professionalism and curt behavior made the trip less than ideal. I support the endangered chickens. I would like the ban repealed regarding killing roaches. Laureate, please get political and join me in removing bugs from guests rooms! Seriously, the pests were a problem but the staff exacerbated the issue. Not coming back to bug fest. This place got only three stars and not zero because the rooms were beautiful. However the rude clerks were annoyed because we came earlier and was told check in was 3-4 pm. We had 5 hours to kill and not once did they make a note to housekeeper to do our room next. The least they could do for the fees they tack on their overpriced room price. Ocean view? What a joke. It's across the street from a very very loud street! The pool was nice but who could enjoy it with the loud traffic. Oh, this morning we could add construction to the pool pavers. Ugh! The manager of the reception- Victoria didn't want to give us a clean & handicap room for my mother with is handicapped!, She cursed us in Spanish, was resist, and super rude to us, we had 4 suite's and she called the police to take us out because we asked for a clean handicap room - which is what we booked from the first place!! Room's are dirty, the view is bad and it's right on the Main Street so it's very loud!! The service is the worst I've ever had. So I'm more than happy to put this warning about the worst place in Key West. Be careful!!, don't get close to this place!! read more

Absolutely beautiful... every room has a view of the ocean, a full kitchen with small refrigerator, small dishwasher , 2 burner stove, a toaster, A Keurig coffee maker, utensils, a couple of pans and pots ( I would suggest bringing your own egg pan they do not have any non stick pans ) a nice set of knives, glasses and dishes Just about anything you need in a kitchen The living room was spacious and tasteful with an enormous tv Our bedroom was awesome... king size bed and super comfy ... the tv was HUGE... and again the decor was lovely ....the bathroom is right off the bedroom and it is crazy big. Upon arrival, the place was quiet charming. Girlfriend and I came down to Key West for her Birthday, came to the hotel with expectations that really were fulfilled. Everything was really well put, checked in, front desk greeted us, signed a couple of papers, got to the room and everything was just great! I booked a one bedroom, two bed and one bathroom. The little living room area was pleasant, the kitchenette area was amazingly well put, the bathroom was nice, cool and roomy, and the room itself was nice and cozy as well!Their minimal/relax ocean themed room and their ocean view from the patio with little things here and there is what really made the experience even more better! Customer service were well and answered all my requests, as well as questions, all well. Do note that they're not perfect and might have some things like a noisy road in the front that really can't be heard if the patio door is closed and the amenities that they bring to the table with their $30 resort fee that really make you question if it's really necessary. Either then that, nothing really threw me off and if you book this through Booking.com, do make sure to double check all is in order just like any other hotel that's booked through a website. This hotel does require a $50 deposit (which will be returned after you're check out) Overall, a hidden gem hotel that really brings a 4-star hotel feeling with 3-star pricing! This hotel was in a amazing location. It was about 5-7 minutes away from Duval Street. We brought our bikes. So we biked everywhere and it was about a 2 mile bike ride. When we first walked into our room we were in love with the aesthetics. However, the problem started when our fridge wasn't working. This was a big deal to us because we had brought items to put in the cooler that were perishable. They sent over a gentleman to repair the fridge by utilizing a hairdryer. After about an hour (it's 10PM) The fridge was still not working and her children or getting restless. The attendant upfront ended up switching us to the three-bedroom suite. The view was stunning and the suite was huge. There were a couple of hiccups along the way. Like the floors were visibly dirty, there were ants all over the kitchen, and the towels were badly stained. This location can easily be five stars. However, they need to improve a lot of minor things that can easily make them capable of being one of Key West best hotels. read more

Checked in 6 NOV 2021. My wife used the bathroom after a long ride. Screamed "there is no toilet paper". Later washed her hands in bathroom sink which DID NOT drain. Later discovered no condiments for the coffee pot. Went to front desk and asked that these items be fixed! That evening (first day of stay) the elevator QUIT working. 79 years old , top floor and 136 steps in a complete up/down cycle. Management says we will have it fixed tomorrow. 8 NOV 2021 We checked out and NO ELEVATOR! Hauled luggage and hang-ups down to our car using all 136 steps! Talked to the manager and was told that she could only offer a $151.87 credit to my bill (which I have not received). Keep in mind the room fee is $579.00 per night X 2 so $1158.00; then she tagged on a $419 "Accommodations" fee for a total of $1577.00 before a "room occupancy fee" each night of $43.43 and tax of $28.95. Super clean and daily maid service which is not the norm now a days. Also provided daily waters and shampoo refills without asking. It was an anniversary trip and there was an anniversary card along with chocolate strawberries and a bottle of champagne in the fridge. Nice clean pool. This is a hotel with no spirit of contract. At the end of October 2018, I booked a room for the Christmas holiday in the hotel through the Booking website and got the confirmation. However, at the beginning of the holiday, I spent thousands of dollars to buy aircraft tickets and arrived in Miami in December 2018. I was suddenly informed by the Booking.com that the hotel had renounced its previous agreement and could not receive us. It put my family in a very awkward position. After a long time of communication, the Booking.com took charge of the price difference and arranged other hotels for my family in Key West. However, this hotel did not arrange my accommodation, but according to the agreement they broke, they transferred nearly $1,000 "room fee" from my credit card. We can only request the Booking platform to negotiate with this rogue hotel while we are on vacation. Although the stolen money was basically returned to my account, I lost a few money due to the floating exchange rate. My vacation was ruined by the hotel. Stayed in the hotel for 3 days. Hotel staff accused us of breaking one of the cabinets when it was missing in the first place. Poor customer service after paying top dollar to stay there. Make sure everything is in pristine condition before the stay otherwise you will have to pay for something that is not your mistake. Rude staff! Two small electric burners. We had the best stay at The Laureate! My husband, brother in law and I had plenty of space in the One Bedroom Deluxe King Ocean View Suite. Comfortable bed and sofa sleeper, nice kitchenette area and plenty of space in the living room area. Beautifully recently decorated. The pool area was also great - plenty of chairs, umbrellas, and complimentary water and coconut water. Plus chilled wash cloths! We enjoyed the swan floaties and corn hole. About an eight minute drive to the Duval street area, and a Publix within a few minutes of walking distance. Sad to leave and hope to be back! read more
