**the owner has called and threatened to sue me for $25,000 for leaving my honest review** We booked this hotel months in advance, and exactly one week before arrival the owner called asking us to change our dates. We couldn't due to flights, work, and pet care already arranged. He then informed us he needed to cancel our final night due to "maintenance," but refused to explain what the maintenance was or consider rescheduling it. They did book us another hotel for the final night, which was nice, but it was about $100 less per night than what we originally paid, the room was much smaller and didn't have any of the amenities we had originally paid for-and we were not refunded the difference. We were required to check out at 11 AM (only extended to 1 PM after I asked twice), even though the new hotel's check-in wasn't until 3 PM. I had to arrange early check-in myself to avoid being stranded in Key West with luggage. We also had to pay for our own transportation and lost a large part of our afternoon packing and relocating. No apology or gesture of goodwill was offered. Further, despite being given a 1pm check out, the owner started calling me at 12:30pm asking if we were out yet, making us feel rushed and adding another layer of unhospitality to our experience. He THEN told me to be sure to leave a tip! Are you kidding? Additionally, the hand soap in the bathroom was watered down, and most concerning, the private pool deck -- one of the main reasons we booked -- was severely caving in and felt unsafe to walk on. I'm attaching photos of that. We were not informed of its condition before we booked. I've since requested a partial refund (50% of the final night) due to the inconvenience and price difference, but the owner has not responded to my emails or text. read more

This is a great location! You are able to walk to the beach and also go downtown by bike for dinner. This is an old mansion in a nice area that's been turned into suites yrs ago. It's funky and very charming! Very Key West! Very nice owners also. read more

A cute and true to Key West charm little oasis for any traveler. It is a place that you will not expect to walk into. The grounds are very beautiful and intimate. It's well kept and gives you a feeling of being on vacation AWAY from the tourist business of Duval Street. It was very pleasant to come "home" to every day. It's also dog friendly and in a more residential area. Far away from Duval Street but still within a 15 minute walking distance or a 5 Minute Uber drive. The beach is also a 10 Minute walk so essentially, you are in a perfect little getaway spot. If you can afford it, get the suite with the private pool. It's grogeous! We ended up getting the garden suite because we had our dogs and this was a spontaneous trip to the keys (literally 3 days prior to arriving did we decided to book and go!). read more

This inn is within two blocks of a house we owned in Key West. The rooms are great. Very peaceful and in the Casa Marina district which I like the best. I would stay here every time I come to town. This place is off the beaten path, yet close enough to ride a bicycle or Uber ($12) to the bars and so quiet can sleep with no noise!! Stayed September 2018 for 2 nights and again in 2019 for 3 nights. Suites vary in size - we stayed in the Old Town suite. Clean, well stocked and extremely comfortable . We took advantage of the fridge, microwave and cooktop - one suite has a FULL kitchen and private pool! The owner, Mark, was extremely hospitable and knew of hidden gems - non obtrusive. The place is an older home divided into multiple suites many having connecting doors and is available to rent as whole which would be fantastic for a family reunion!! We went both years mid September which is pretty quiet in Key West so we had whole place to ourselves. We will be back for sure - it's an experience to be had!! read more

Stayed in the duval room recently. All told it was a great experience. Mark (the owner) picked me up from and returned me to the airport. The room was clean, premises were good. There's a little pool and chaise lounges for tanning, as well as hammocks, a grill, and other seating areas throughout the property. They rent bicycles for an excellent rate. Additionally the inn is within easy biking or walking distance from duval st without being so close as to deal with crowds and noise. Would definitely use again. read more

This place is BEYOND beautiful. We got some bikes and rode about 2 minutes to Duval st and awesome other restaurants. The owners were so kind and accommodating and our sweet little suite was so whimsical. This place is a MUST!!! Great accommodations for our family of five adults. We stayed in the Hemingway Suite and it was awesome! Plenty of space plus free parking and bike rental right on the property - very convenient perk. The private pool was an added bonus - we were in it every day. Located in a quiet residential area but close to beaches and easy walking distance to restaurants and old town KW. The apartment was very clean and everything is updated. Suited our needs just fine. My husband had a conference there as we moonlighted a honeymoon between meetings. They were very nice to give us a bottle of champagne to celebrate and welcome us. His conference was at the Casa Marina (rip off by the way) and this was only about a block away from there for half the price. All of Key West seems to be pretty high on rates, and we felt like it wasn't necessarily a bargain, but a competitive price for the area (especially when you consider that you get a kitchenette, dining area and a living room) Major plus was it's close proximity to our favorite restaurant there "El Siboney". It was FABULOUS. Our only complaint would be that the room was a little musty, we had to open the window at night-which worked fine because I enjoyed sleeping with the fountain water at night outside the window. read more

This is a gorgeous oasis retreat! We live in Ft Lauderdale and make a trip to Key West for a special treat. This trip we brought our guests from Arizona to visit Key West for their first time. They were stunned with the amazing gardens, adorable rooms, and our own private pool! There is a mini-store with an "on your honor" purchase system. It was so helpful when my toddler wanted milk and a quick snack. The owners went out of their way to accommodate us. I highly recommend this lovely retreat! This place is really great. I would come here again. Mostly suites. Small, secluded, quiet and just a short walk to all the action. The prices are definitely in line for what you get. A small regular hotel room in the area is more. And Salute is right down the street on the beach which is delicious for lunch. read more

Wonderful! Nice accommodations! The beach two blocks away was not so hot. $10 to sit on a chair and very little sand. We went to far end of Smathers beach and were much happier. Suite dreams had noodles, beach toys and beach chairs we could borrow for free which was nice! read more

Excellent place to stay!! Far enough from Duvall, it's quiet, close enough, you can get to all the touristy spots very easily (though if you're a wilting flower in the Florida humidity like I am, driving now and then or renting a bike is ideal--speaking of which, you can rent a bike at Suite Dreams for $15/ day). Very close to a nice beach, Southernmost Point, Butterfly Gardens. The owners are extremely helpful and accommodating. They keep the property up very well. We stayed in the sunset suite and had an entire floor to ourselves. There's a room off the office, next to the pool, that has sundries, sodas, food(including purée pouches for infant/toddlers), beach gear, life vests, beach toys, etc and even full size bottles of sunscreen, bug spray, and many others available for purchase at reasonable costs ($1-2: but only the food and some other toiletries, plus the laundry machines cost money). It is gated with a locked entry only accessible by guests, VERY private. Our suite was perfect even with a toddler. Well appointed kitchen--ONLY thing missing was pen and paper!! The beds had beautiful bedding and were very comfortable!! My youngest teen son slept on the sleeper sofa in the living room but ended up just sleeping on the couch bc the bed was uncomfortable. The pool is small, but at most times we were the only ones there so that didn't matter. Nice lounger chairs, chaises and a cute terra cotta fish fountain made it very peaceful. You really don't have to pack heavy when coming here--they supply you with almost everything. And whatever they don't, there's a place called The Hip Tourist that can. We will definitely come here again. We had a great time and felt very much at home at this boutique inn. read more

We love this place so much we just extended our stay an extra 2 nights. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable about Key West and especially the restaurants. The grounds are small but very well kept. There is a small dipping pool that suits the size of this inn perfectly. Very cute!!! Our suite is the Sunset Suite which is upstairs and has two bedrooms, one decent size bathroom and a great little kitchen. We took a tour of the larger two bedroom and all I have to say is WOW!!! Huge with a private pool. We will probably rent that next time and bring the kids. You can't beat the price. They are comparable if not lower than the other hotels we looked at except their suites are larger than most. We love it here and will be back. read more

I don't often write reviews, but I had to for Suite Dreams. My fiance and I were looking for a cute, quiet place to get away on a vacation in Key West and we couldn't have been happier with Suite Dreams. Just a short bike ride away from the busier Duval Street, or the serene southernmost beaches, Suite Dreams is in a great location with a relaxing and adorable setting.
