I have been going to Ambiance since they first opened. They moved from their old place sometime back and it is very pretty with calming, inviting colors. Manon is wonderful with facials. I have one each month and look forward to my relaxing experience. My skin always looks and feels so smooth and refined. I also use some of the same products at home. Manon really knows skin and she has made a big difference with mine. I also go to Michelle monthly for mani--pedi. She does an outstanding job on both. Michelle has a good knowledge of hand and foot problems so is able to answer questions I have related to each. Their prices are VERY good. This is my go to place and I HIGHLY recommend it. I went in for a spa pedicure because someone got me a gift certificate. The receptionist wasn't friendly and the pedicure/nail stations are in a glorified closet...not very spa-like at all. The woman who did the pedicure was friendly and was thorough with scrubs and lotion. However, the whole reason I get pedicures done is to clip the nails and take away calluses. She spent hardly any time on caring for the cuticle or calluses or shaping the nails. In less than one week, I had to clip my nails again myself, work on my calluses, and the nail polish was already "grown out" if you know what I mean, because she didn't paint close enough to the cuticle. It also started chipping off. This was the most expensive and worst pedicure I've had. Not worth it. This is the reason I do pedicures myself, total waste. read more

Okay so I've seen a few other reviews similar to the experience I've had. My husband and I went up there a week before my appointment to schedule it on the day I wanted. When we walked in a lady in scrubs asked me how she could help and I said I wanted to make an appointment. She said the receptionist wasn't in but she would help as best as she could because she didn't know how to take an appointment. (I was a receptionist for a long time. Taking an appointment is not difficult.) Anyways, after about 10 minutes of shuffling around I told her what I wanted and I told her a full set acrylics and pedicure. She wrote us down on the Saturday I desired at noon as a mani/pedi and then another woman in a white lab coat came up and said she didn't know if the nail tech stayed there that late on Saturday's. I told them I had that whole morning open so anytime that worked for her would work for me. So they took down my phone number and said they would call me by the next day to let me know the time. Then my husband wanted to go ahead and pay for me because it was a birthday gift from him to me. $65 is how much the gift card was worth and I thought it might not be the right price but this lady in the lab coat seemed to know more than the lady in the scrubs so I just let it go. (We looked at the menu and it said it was about $40 each so we were expecting more but most nail places give you a little break when you get two services). So anyways my husband and I thanked them and left. I gave them 3 days to call and heard nothing so I took it upon myself to call and no one answered. I left a voicemail and proceeded to wait two more days and still heard nothing. At this point my appointment is 2 days away and I still don't know what time I'm supposed to be there. So I call again and still get no answer (I called during business hours, and really how long does it take to return a phone call?). Then an hour later I call again and get someone. I tell them I had an appointment for that Saturday and they said they would have the nail tech call me. I got caught up in something and missed her call but received a text messaging said (in short) "hello you wanted a lash extension??" I said "no. I wanted a full set and a pedicure." Then get another text from another person saying "hey I'm the nail person, I only work this day and this day and I'm not available for 2 1/2 more weeks." So instead of me going off on them I let my husband call them. I was not there for the conversation but he assured me they were going to get it figured out. And later called us to confirm the appointment. Thinking everything was finally sorted, I get there and the salon owner is the one doing my nails and says "and what kind of manicure did you want?" And I said "full set acrylics. And I like Stelio nails as well if that's okay" and she says "they didn't tell me you wanted acrylics. I don't have time to do acrylics. And I don't know how to do Stelio nails those are too edgy for me" so I'm extremely frustrated and she says she can do gel polish on my normal nails and the pedicure. Which I said fine. I go to pick the color and they don't even have black. They have many shades of browns and pinks. But no black? I guess black is too edgy too. The pedicure was wonderful. But the nails are nothing like I desired. Which yes I did agree to the gel but they should've been doing everything they could to please me but it was just a sub par experience and they still charged me the $65 gift certificate and gave me a little pump shampoo as an "I'm sorry gift". I expected so much more from a place that claims they're premium. Will not be returning. And photographed are my nails only 5 days after getting them done. read more

I went in for a wax, the facility gives an outward appearance of being very clean and calming, and the employees are all very pleasant, however they double dip the wax! By this I mean they put the same stick that they've put on your body back into the wax (which is not hot enough to kill bacteria that resides on your skin), and unless they change the wax every time a new customer comes in (unlikely, and very expensive), you're getting everyone else's microorganisms on your body, yuck! Not only is this extremely unhygienic and disgusting, it's also illegal. Will not be returning here. read more

First visit to Spalon was "good"... first snag I encountered was parking. It's got a tiny parking lot which was full and required me to park about a block away at McCallisters... Filling out the first consult card only asked for personal information, nothing about my massage preference, allergies...nothing along those lines. The massages are performed in an area away from the main salon, which allowed for mostly quiet relaxation... My room was too cold. I should have spoken up, but eh. My therapist Audrey was a joy! She was thorough and my session was unrushed. I will be back to see her. Overall, ask for what you're looking for and be sure to tip. read more

My cosmetology teacher recommended this place so I decided to try and get my grandmother and I an appointment here. Bad idea. I wanted to get a full set and she wanted a pedicure. I went in on Saturday to get this done. They were really rude when I walked in and then told me their nail technician was not in. So I was like fine. We walked out. I decided to give them another shot because my teacher speaks so fondly of them. I called Monday afternoon to make an appointment for Wednesday. Well the person on the phone did not sound very enthusiastic about answering the phone and being there. I told him I wanted an appointment for Wednesday after 3 for two people one a full set the other a pedicure. He produced to tell me that there is only one person there that he can take a message and they will call me back shortly. This was at 3ish. I didn't get a call back until the next day and they were unable to take me and my grandmother. She was also very rude on the phone. read more

Was scheduled for a nighttime wax and was called day of because the waxer was sick. I was scheduled for the next morning at 8:30 AM, fine with me but little did I know it wasn't even a real appointment time. Due to that I felt rushed in my appointment. I was very sore, red, and bumpy afterwards and that is it a normal for me. The waxer was kind and talkative though. I got a spa package and keep in mind it took 2 weeks to book my appointment and when I get there from driving from an hour away they tell me I'm Not on the books... Talk about MAD! Then they rebooked me and the same BS happened again that I was booked for last Tuesday the 12. Wow! Talk about horriable management. Love this place! I moved to the area in March and stumbled across Ambiance for a hair cut. Colleen does an excellent job with my cut & color. Went back for a facial with Manon and wasn't disappointed. Also have had the spa pedicure with Michelle and Matt gives a fantastic massage. I received a certificate for a massage for Christmas and decided to go ahead and schedule the massage. They made the appointment for 3:00 on a Friday. On Wednesday, they called to tell me that they had double booked my appointment, and ask me to come in at a different time on Friday. I was not able to come in at that time, so I had them schedule an appointment for the next Friday at 3:00. When I walked into the spa, I was told that I was not on the schedule. They don't send confirmations of your appointment, and they don't call to remind you of your appointment. Apparently, they really just have trouble booking your appointment at all. Not exactly the kind of experience I want from a spa, and I won't be trying to reschedule again. read more
