My daughter attended TLE for pre-K and is currently enrolled in their summer camp. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the school and its administration. My husband and I had done our due diligence in touring all of the UPK schools in the Battery Park area so that we could best rank our options. Our daughter attended a (costly private) pre-school part-time for two years prior to pre-K, and while that experience started out well enough, by the end we had a bad taste left in our mouths. In part because of this, we wanted to be sure we found the best possible placement for our daughter for her UPK year. While TLE wasn't the most conveniently located UPK center in relation to our apartment (which turned out to be no big deal at all), the tour experience was by far the best. From the moment we scheduled our initial visit, Jessica, the school's Managing Director, was warm, informative, and inviting. One of the only schools to invite us for a tour with our daughter in attendance, we were able to get a comprehensive view of the school and its curriculum, and get her excited for pre-K. My daughter instantly found herself at peace there, even assimilating herself into a classroom's reading circle as we checked out the rest of the school. By the tour's end, we felt really good about the educational curriculum, teachers, and administration. While the school isn't exactly filled with natural sunlight beaming in from large open windows, it was a really happy place, and just seemed like the kind of setting that I'd imagine a pre-school should be. When we received our placement letter and learned that our daughter would be going to TLE, we were thrilled. Just prior to the school year's start, we had a lovely classroom orientation so that we could meet other families and classmates, as well the teachers. My daughter's teachers throughout the year were nothing short of spectacular. They were so incredibly attentive, dedicated, and communicative, I was continually amazed by how much they cared about my child's experience and development. Throughout the year, the school hosted holiday and seasonal parties with which we as parents were invited to participate in. There were regular opportunities to chaperone field trips, and take on as much or as little involvement in classroom activities as we liked. About once a month, there was a classroom culminating event, where the kids presented what they had been working on in recent weeks. Each morning and afternoon I'd gone in to drop-off/pick-up my child, I was always met with a smile and friendly conversation by anyone and everyone that worked at TLE. It is truly such a happy place, made up entirely of people who care wholeheartedly about the children and their families. My only regret is that I didn't know about TLE earlier on and send my daughter there for pre-school/daycare when she was younger. It was too hard to say goodbye after the UPK graduation, so I was thrilled that TLE offers a summer camp (that my daughter loves), prior to the time we move up to Kindergarten. There is also a lot to be said for the convenience and safety at TLE. After school options and even holiday camps are available, which has been a game-changer for my work-life balance. TLE offers a ton of flexibility, and they have earned 110% of my confidence in their ability to safely and enthusiastically care for and teach my child. I also really like that they have a Reminder app that keeps me updated on need to know information, and the TLE Parent app shares photos of my daughter enjoying various activities throughout the day. After school programs like yoga and soccer are available, adding to daily enrichment. My daughter has taken away so much from just one year with TLE, I honestly could not have asked for more. I would not hesitate to send my child here-- they almost make me want to make more babies just to have reason to go back! Quite honestly, whatever your child's needs are, TLE is not only adept to handle them, they do so with utmost professionalism and compassion. They have given my child the tools she needs to move up to grade school, and it has warmed my heart to watch her grow and love this experience. You will not find better than The Learning Experience Battery Park!! read more

This school is a rip off and they have been stealing money from middle class families from the day they opened. They hung up on me repeatedly and both my children and I suffered from Covid for 3 weeks and they never picked up or replied to my email. I went there with my husband and followed all the rules and they never refunded me and they in fact double charged me. I know of 100 additional people this happened to during pandemic. They steal the money of single moms and special needs children. read more

We had our son enrolled in TLE Chicago between 2019-2020. When we moved back to NY, we were excited to learn that there was a TLE close by. TLE Battery Park has met our expectations and more! To start, the staff is absolutely amazing. Jessica, Rene and Samantha are always very helpful, warm and extremely responsive. You feel that they love and care about what they do and have so much love for the children and other staff members. Our son graduated from TLE in May and has made lifelong memories and friends. The curriculum is great, and he got accepted into one of preferred schools. We also enrolled our daughter when she was six months old. She loves all of her teachers and friends. We feel like the level of love and attention that they give the LOs is more than we could have hoped for. She is now 2 and is learning so much! I would 100% recommend TLE to anyone! read more

This is a review of our experience back in 2019. We stayed there for almost a year and there were students bringing in cakes and snack for birthday celebrations. We participated in all and there was never a check on the food. Fast forward to when my child's birthday was coming up, we called the school in advance to check about whether we could bring in a cake and they said yes. We ordered a $200 cake and on the day itself, the school just refused to have the cake celebration in school. The teacher Jenna almost directed us to throw away the cake into the classroom garbage bin. Two years have passed, we still feel we were unfairly treated at this place. Why this was not a problem for other students but us? The teachers played favorites all the time. Even though later the school director emailed us to apologize and offered to pay half of the cake's cost, our 5 year old's celebration was almost ruined. Will not return to this place forever. Parents be aware you will need to kiss ass to Jenna or whoever in order to have a fair treatment of your child. Plus they asked for snacks and treats all the time for Thanksgiving and Vday, it was just odd the first time it was a problem was during our child's birthday. Total unprofessionalism and discriminatory practice at this place. read more

This is an awesome school. From administration to the teachers, we are very impressed with the organization, authenticity, and care each member of this center brings to their day to day role, and to each child's life. When you walk in, you are greeted warmly and politely and are helped immediately! Safety is of utmost importance at this facility so families should always feel safe and that their children are in good hands. read more

We love TLE! My daughter started there at 4 months and has had a great experience! Both the directors and the teachers are very organized, warm, and thorough. We are welcomed every morning with big smiles and warm greetings. My daughter's teachers are very experienced, approachable and organized. We get daily updates on my daughter both in-person and on their app. We look forward to pictures on the app! In just a couple months my daughter has developed many new skills, which can be credited to TLE. We feel that our daughter is in good hands at TLE, and that her teachers are deeply invested in her health and development. My daughter always has been smiles at drop-off and pick-up. My daughter has been at TLE for the last year and we absolutely love it there. We love the director, Jessica, and have been thrilled with the teachers. When we were touring daycares before/just after she was born I didn't pay any attention to the curriculum because she was an infant(!!) but it's been a surprise and a joy to see how much she learns at daycare. For example, "Eeeshy" (fishy) was a very early word for her - funnily enough the curriculum theme that month was "Under the Sea". We also didn't set out thinking our child would learn infant sign language, but it definitely came in handy before she could speak. And she LOVES music class. The staff are warm and loving and the halls are filled with proud displays of the children's art projects. I also like that the center has its own small private outdoor play area - a luxury in Manhattan. On a practical level stroller parking is much easier than some of the other daycares we toured - a small thing but nice nonetheless. In short, we love TLE. Choosing childcare is a personal thing, but we are thrilled with TLE and I would encourage anyone considering daycare to stop by and tour. read more

We had a really good experience with our son at TLE. He was there since he was almost 1 until he was a little over 2 (when we had to move). There are a lot of warm and caring teachers at the school (some of his favorites were Miss Dominique, Miss Jeanie, and Miss Linda). They are really organized and recently started using an app where you can see your child's activities and pictures throughout the day. The summer program was great as there were different themes each week and weekly activities such as soccer, music, or art. read more

This TLE is a wellrun school with a nurturing environment from babies to pre-k. My son attended since he was around 1.5 till graduating this past year at age 5. Management: Jessica is the managing director of this establishment and is the glue that ensures good talent remains and process is in place for a well run institution. You will not get stupid / lazy mistakes of inappropriate resourcing or sporadic shutdowns from this place. If you work a job like the one where my wife and I work, you can't just call in vacation on the dime. You will have proper communication of closures, proper communication of schedules, consistent hours of operations. Staffing: The teachers and assistants here are excellent ( again a tribute to Jessica on identifying and retaining/recruiting talent). They are nurturing, fair, and fun for the kids. From potty training to walking/reading/math/foreign language, and English my son has had an excellent time with the teaching staff here. Hours: 6:30PM is critical and essential for any working couple.. Unfortunately I'm not loaded or some fancy hot-shot MD. So we are a working couple and never really get out at 5pm...So 6:30PM extended hours just makes this work. Cost: Its expensive but what Manhattan daycare isn't and who can offer this type of experience and hours of operations with that level of consistency. In that sense its a very fair price. Policy and Procedures: Again consistency and clear policy and procedures is KING in my book as a working couple. You can get a clear schedule and calendar so you know when to book alternative care if necessary or to plan days off weeks/month in advance. This is the place to arrange for early development of your child. read more

my daughter started here at 3 months old and she will be 4 years old in october. our commute here (an elevator ride and secret door away) was definitely the biggest selling point but the other reasons behind our choice to have our child grow up here checked all the boxes we listed out when thinking about child care. the staff is absolutely amazing. not only are they helping our child grow and learn, they have also been a tremendous help to us as new parents. we always got compliments on what an easy baby our daughter was but we really believe it's because she was able to communicate with us at such a young age and that's largely due to the asl that she learned at tle. we (including our sassy girl) are so excited for upk in september. we are so confident she is ready for upk and will be so upset when we have to leave this wonderful place for kindergarten. daily updates on the app fulfill my need to know what my kid is doing. transition to camp for the summer is seamless and so fun. no fomo for these kids :) one of the best decisions my husband and i ever made was to enroll our daughter at tle. read more

Our 4 yr old son has attended TLE Battery Park since he was 3 1/2 months old and we could not be happier with our experience there. The administrators, Jessica and Jenna, do an amazing job and are ALWAYS accessible to answer questions and concerns. When our son was having difficulty transitioning to a new classroom, Jessica purchased a set of balls for his class because he mentioned they were his favorite toys - a small gesture with a profound effect. You'll find the teaching staff is top notch as well. They know all the children so well and are real educators, genuinely concerned with their students' academic progress. Our son has grown so fond of them that he considers them family and hugs or "high-fives" his teachers at the end of the day. We had an absolutely amazing experience with this daycare and miss them so much! Unfortunately My son attended TLE for only about 4 months, then we moved to Jersey city. Application process was very easy and smooth. We had to wait for availability but as soon as the spot opened up - we got a call from a very friendly receptionist Jennifer. Jennifer was professional, patient and very nice. She answered all our questions and went out of her way to accommodate us. Jessica and Jenna were super friendly too. My son started this daycare as his first daycare ever so he had to go through transition phase. Thanks to very patient and accommodating teachers - Mrs. Linda and Miss Annie - it was a great success. I think we liked everything about this daycare - first, their flexibility. One month notice to break the contract, flexible days, wide times for pick up and drop off, no extra charges for supplies. Second - the staff is very friendly, professional, involved and caring. Very informal, which I loved, you are being treated like friends, not customers. Good food on the menu, detailed daily reports, lots of fun projects and family events, small private playground, teacher-student ratio, location close to the park. We even got a corporate discount for the rate which was a huge plus as well. We miss TLE so much! Our son loved it very much too! read more
