We started my daughter at the Goddard school when she was 7 months old. Ever since then, each one of her teachers have shown her so much love and support. When she was in her infant room, Ms. Christine was kind and patient. She engaged her both emotionally and physically. Im sure that my daughter reached all her milestones early because her teachers worked so hard with her. Now my daughter is in the toddler classroom and she is obsessed with Ms. Lidia and Ms. Danielle. She calls for them by name on the weekends. I feel so safe and comfortable knowing that these 2 women are taking care of my daughter. In addition to all the love and care she get, I am so beyond impressed with the menu my daughter I served everyday. She eats such a diverse menu of foods that I couldn't possible recreate in my house! read more

We originally chose the Goddard School because of their covid procedures, way back in 2020-2021, that were very strict. Throughout then, till now, we have been beyond satisfied with their organization, safety protocols (protests, covid, etc.), food selections/variety/nutrition (organic, etc.), communication (frequency, methods and accuracy) and most importantly the teachers. The people and systems that really hold everything together to give the opportunity to forster fun and learning. From Lowest Aged Classrooms - Ms. Victoria and Ms. Molly - both so kind, gentle and understanding, which at a younger age, really what kids need. They take note of important things like food intake, health, sign language, and even smaller (but life hack tips) items such as good sippy cups to use, etc. Ms. Monica and Ms. Destiny - they had our (first) son at a very challenging age and really were his first teachers at Goddard. They worked with him to achieve so many milestones. He loves them both dearly! They were upbeat, so dedicated and really got him out of his shell (and may I add out of many bad moods)! We can never thank them enough! Ms. Philena and Ms. Tiana - Both great teachers! Ms. Tiana is so sweet and caring. She keeps kids calm and speaks to them in such a way that they really open up to her. Mrs. Philena is also great, she speaks to the kids like little adults, and helps them to achieve milestones, such as staying dry after a nap, etc. She communicates (as she was the late night teacher) to the parents at pick up about the happenings of the day! Ms. O and Ms. Nina - Ms. O is a model teacher - as she must be for the age she teaches is when they start to get a little "smart"! She is firm and challenges them (holds them accountable) as well as relates to them on a friend level. Ms. Nina is so warm! She knows the unseen things such as if they may have to use the bathroom, or if they are in any type of "mood." She gets to know each kid and treats them as if they were her own. The administration really runs a tight ship - there is never a slip-up. Kellyanne, Yolanda, Sylvia and Emily they are all highly efficient whether it be getting the daily reports, communicating sicknesses/incidents, holidays, or crazy things that parents ask for like pictures of how big the chunks of food their kid are eating (guilty), or swiftly getting ....snacks or throw up off the floor (the sheer number of things that they handle I am sure I only know a small fraction). They basically are the neck to the (very heavy!) head. We could not be happier about the quality of teachers at the Goddard School to entrust them with the foundational years of our children. read more

The Goddard School in New York is one of the best preschools in the area. Our family has had a wonderful experience with the school, and our children have thrived both academically and socially. The Goddard School has a great curriculum that is both challenging and fun. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about early education, and they are always working to find new and innovative ways to engage the students. The Goddard School also has a wonderful social environment. The children are encouraged to be friendly and helpful to one another, and they learn how to resolve conflicts in a healthy way. This is such an important skill, and the Goddard School does an excellent job of teaching it. Overall, we have been extremely happy with The Goddard School in New York. Goddard provided a rigorous academic environment with a healthy schedule. The staff also loved our girls. I always felt incredible dropping our girls off every day. Our daughter loved attending the school for the past two years and looked forward to going every day, and was socialized very well. As first-time parents, sending our daughter to daycare at 6 months old was a bit nerve-racking. However, the staff Sylvia and Emily made the transition to starting daycare so smooth, and Sylvia really makes all processes so easy to this day. It was so clear our daughter's teachers from her first class (Ms Litzy and Ms Sallie) loved her so much so early on, and they still make a big effort to continue being in our daughter's life even though she's no longer in their class. Ms Lidia and Ms Danielle, her current teachers, have really helped her come into her own person and grow to be a considerate, goofy, lovable girl. She's always so excited to see them every day. We're endlessly grateful for the first floor teachers and staff, and will miss seeing them every day once she transitions to the second floor - however, we trust that the second floor staff and teachers will be just as great, so we're excited to welcome them into our lives too! read more

We've had our 3 year old in Goddard Murray Hill since he was 18 months old and haven't regretted one minute of the time he's spent there. His teachers have been amazing. This year, he is with Ms. O and Ms. Nina and they are both A+ teachers. They have positive, friendly, and warm attitudes - to us, the most important features. He's 3 - he doesn't need to be counting to 1000, but we do want him to learn to be a good human being - respect his classmates, his teachers, etc. We feel that these values are definitely something that the teachers and staff at Goddard believe in. They have made a significant impact in our daughters life and have helped her grow in ways far beyond what we could've hoped for. After one month of being open, The Goddard School (Murray Hill) has met and exceeded our high expectations. The moment you first walk inside their location on Second Avenue, you can really see everything here is all about the children. From the safe, contemporary, and sparkling clean facility itself, to the smiles and warm welcomes you get every day, to the engaged teachers and staff, and to the carefully thought out classroom toys, furniture, and activities, we recommend The Goddard School without hesitation! We took several tours of other daycares in the area, and while we saw nice and clean facilities (for the most part!), classrooms we observed sometimes didn't have the correct (or advertised) teacher/child ratio, teachers were on their personal phones when they should be watching the kids, and daily activities lacked any real structure. Whether you have a 3-month old or a 4-year old, you can't really expect teachers to just "wing it" and let the children roll and romp around for 10+ hours every day. In addition to the varied (and standards-aligned) daily lesson plans, you can expect regular and detailed communication via the "Tadpoles" app. Through that interface, you'll get daily updates ranging from the obligatory feeding/diapering notes, to a recap of the daily activities, to some photo highlights of your child in action. All of the above are reasons enough to consider The Goddard School, but there are two additional factors that made the biggest impression on us, and both are things you probably won't read about in their pamphlet, but rather things you'll immediately observe once you're here: 1 - The owner (Rami) is on site full time, involved, and passionate about delivering a top-notch experience for all students and staff under his roof. He responds quickly and acts appropriately and when needed when something is not absolutely perfect. Christina (director) and Candice (assistant director) are experienced, true professionals, and right there "in the trenches" with the kids whenever they can be. 2 - The staff here are equally as passionate about working with children. Even though each age group/classroom has their own set of teachers, teachers in the other classrooms will also get to know your child. It's easy to have a bias for your own kid, but if you take a careful look around, you'll quickly see the teachers here really know EVERY child. For the amount you'll pay in NYC for daycare, you need to demand better, so if (like us), you find yourself shopping around in the Midtown East / Murray Hill area, really pay attention to the classrooms, the teachers, and the children inside. Read the parent handbook cover to cover, review the safety procedures, and look at their lesson plans. Ask questions of the directors, the teachers, and (if applicable) the owners. Again, The Goddard School in Murray Hill has checked off all our boxes so I can wholeheartedly recommend them for your daycare needs. Kudos to all, and keep up the great work! read more

We loved our experience with the Goddard School! The facility itself is immaculate, and the staff and teachers are all very welcoming and friendly. It was really great that they provide a hot lunch every day, and every day when I dropped my son at school I was able to go about my day with a sigh of relief that he was in great hands. The teachers worked hard at coming up with a curriculum that included discovery, arts and crafts, and physical movement (gym, hide and seek, etc). The Goddard School was a great experience for my son. It was a great thing to see videos of him during circle time all the while listening to a book being read or learning sign language and Spanish words. Without question, my son was able to focus more at home as my wife and I would enter his room with him quietly reading, coloring, or playing with his toys. This was a direct result of his time at the Goddard School, where play was encouraged everyday, along with collaborating with classmates and focusing on what is being presented. The Goddard School has been the perfect choice for our son and our family, particularly during COVID. The school has been extremely flexible and accommodating while ensuring that the children and staff are well protected. The school days are clearly activity packed, given how tired our little guy is at pick-up. But he is always ready and eager to return each morning. Communication from the school and with the staff is top notch. Updates are provided throughout the day and summaries provided at the end of each day with pickup. It's great to get a full overview of what is being covered (since a four-year-old isn't always extremely forthcoming). The teachers are always high energy, full of smiles, and clearly loved by all of the kids. We couldn't be happier with our pick. read more

We could not have been more delighted with our experience at Goddard. our son started here just after he turned two and has done nearly one year, it has been an excellent year. It's been a joy to see how he has developed since starting at Goddard. His skills, language, sense of confidence, has been nurtured within such a warm and secure environment, and to top it off, he loves being there. Win for all of us. The staff and admin, they are dedicated, knowledgable and kind, it's been deeply reassuring to have this crew looking after my child. And he talks about his teachers with so much enthusiasm and his class mates all the time. My conclusion is that he feels (and is) safe, secure, he is having fun and learning. My son loves Goodard! He has been enrolled for seven months now and loves it. We had him with a nanny up until he was a little over one year old but felt that he was not getting the enrichment and socialization he really needed. He started at another daycare near my wife but we weren't pleased so we moved him to this Goddard when he just a bit under two years of age. He is now 2.5 years old. A few highlights of his days at Goddard include outdoor play (trips to parks and their newly opened roofdeck area), the gym complete with climbing wall, soccer (world cup madness!), music, chess and more. All of these activities and more (daily meals!) are all included in the tuition. The owner and his wife are on-site daily and staff for the most part have been great. Some of my sons teachers have left after short tenures but on the flipside the new teachers they have brought in have been really good. It's not easy or highly paid work but from speaking with the teachers, I know the owners go the extra mile to keep them happy. I would highly recommend sending your child here. read more

Long over due review. This is the first daycare we chose for our son, at first I was really not sure of the idea of daycare, but after 2 weeks of the school my son totally fell in love with the teachers and the school. He even started reading and dancing when he got home. And also have a good habit of washing hands before eating! Ms. Karlen and Ms. Nico were the teachers in his class. We found them both caring and very trustworthy. Our son is very happy at Goddard. Facilities are clean and the teachers are very nurturing. We switched day cares recently and so glad we did. The food is all organic and they always offer more food to the kids who are still hungry. They have a gym and soon getting an outdoor area. We get updates on a daily basis and there are planned activities for kids everyday. Also the leadership and owners are lovely people who listen to the feedback from the parents. I filled in their online form to book a viewing but nobody called. I call them a week later and booked an appointment to visit the center at Murray Hill while my wife and I were off work for the holidays. They called 10 days later, 2 days before the viewing to cancel and asked us to come back in January. I told them that we would both be back at work and have conflicting schedules so my wife and I would not be able to visit together which was an inconvenience but they told us they have too many people booked and we are the ones that need to be moved. Service like this at the beginning of a relationship doesn't bode well the future of it so we are looking elsewhere now. read more

Our two year-old son enrolled at the school for about 3 months. It is sad that we need to leave due to our upcoming move to LA. It is definitely hard to find a better place for our little one to develop and grow educationally and socially. Our son loved the Goddard School! The Goddard School was by far the best daycare center we considered when selecting a school for our 1 year old son. The center is beautiful and new and our son Kai was excited to be there when we dropped him off every morning (this was not the case with his previous daycare). The Goddard School does a great job at planning and sending photos of the many activities that he engaged in each day and we liked the fact that they go outside to local parks and have a gym for him to run around in. We also appreciated that, despite being an only child, Kai has learned to share and plays well with others when we take him to the playground - something he must have learned at daycare! The on-site owner Rami is also very involved in the school and was constantly asking for feedback on how Kai was doing and whether there was anything that they could be doing better. His kids also attend the school, which was a testament in itself to the care it provides. Unfortunately we are moving but will definitely look at Goddard Schools in our next neighborhood and if we're ever back in the area, we will definitely be re-enrolling Kai. read more

We recently moved to the burbs and one of the hardest things about moving was leaving the 2nd Avenue Goddard School. I always felt welcome from the minute I dropped my daughter off in the morning and had peace of mind throughout the day knowing my daughter was well taken care of by the nurturing staff and teachers. All of the teachers knew my daughter even if they didn't personally have her in their class. She was always smiling and happy which I attribute to the staff that created such a warm and inviting environment. read more

I feel as though the younger children's classrooms could be more colorful and welcoming. There are not enough engaging toys and books for them to explore. They need some more designated spaces for imaginative play especially at this age. I also feel as though the teachers of these younger children, although nice and caring, are not 100% equipped with the right leadership to manage a classroom. The ratios of 1:5 for toddlers is too high to really care for each child individually and manage a full group of 10 toddlers. At meals times children of this age still need assistance in eating their food and it would seem impossible for them to be able to help all children to eat with this ratio. Even though they may be eating "some or most" I doubt, if mostly feeding themselves, they are getting enough to be substantial. There are no true designated class plans/schedule posted or emailed on a weekly basis like some other childcare centers. Seems it's more of a babysitting style place verses a place for children, even at a young age, to grow and learn. Need better leadership and more structure to younger classrooms. read more

This is really a special place! As first time parents, my husband and I were really nervous about leaving our 3.5 month old infant at daycare and so far we have been beyond impressed! The teachers are just fantastic and my son (who is almost 10 months now) looks forward to going there every day. Whenever he sees the teacher(s) for the infant room he smiles and gets so excited. Ms. Christine runs a wonderful learning environment and really understands the importance of early development. I don't know how they do it, but Goddard makes sure each individual child has a fantastic day. The management is also really nice and such great communicators. My 2 1/2 year old son loves going to school. We are so happy with our choice to enroll him at the Goddard school. The teachers are so warm and caring. Always available to communicate any concerns or questions we have. His and our favorite teachers are Wendy and Mara (he outgrew the age of his former classroom, but they still hug him each time they see him in the hallways) and Alyssa and Ellie (he is so excited to greet them every day). The structure and activities keep my son stimulated and he comes home and tells us all about his day and friends. His language skills have advanced dramatically since starting school. The classrooms and facilities are beautiful and extremely clean. We can't recommend highly enough! read more

We switched to Goddard year ago (when my son was 2) because we wanted a childcare program that saw themselves as a school rather than a 'daycare'. The teachers in my son's room have their days packed with circle meetings to discuss the day of the week, the weather, and different activities they will learn. They do "projects" like bake cakes for a classmates birthday, learn yoga (yes - really), learn how to count, learn the alphabet, have visitors from police offices and doctors, learn about family structure, learn colors, shapes, etc etc. I could go on and on. They learn about different holidays and cultures, they learn how to share and be kind. When someone is upset, I can see kids want to comfort the kid who is upset. The classroom is always clean in the morning - there's no mess from the day before! The kids have structure - but I know the teachers are also fun, silly, kind and nurturing. They also work with me to ensure all my son's needs are met. For instance, he has speech therapy a few times each week (and some other things too) and the school makes it easy for me to schedule everything. I've never had a single issue with this place - I wish my kids could stay at Goddard forever. Everyone at the school knows me, and know my 2 children (even if they're not in their class). All my calls and emails are answered within a few hours (sometimes within minutes). I trust them with my full heart and soul, and I know my kids are having fun - and reaching all of their milestones. read more
