My son has been at Goddard for about a year and a half now and I've always been so happy with the care that he gets. My kiddo is a wallflower and every teacher that he's had has been quintessential in his social development and getting him to open up. The teachers truly care about him. All of them. It was such a super heart-warming experience when I went to pick him up the other day. On my way in, I was able to catch up with Ms. Jada, who was the first teacher he had. She has the patience of an angel and really helped guide us into appropriate behaviors for little ones of his age at the time in these social settings. Just helping us get back into "normal" post-covid children group interactions. We talked about how much he's grown and how he's talking so much now. She also came in to his new class to say hi and he stopped getting ready to leave to go give her a hug. In the hallway, we also ran into Ms. Sonia and Ms. Candace both of whom were also so important in coaxing him out of his shell and always making him feel safe enough to do so. They also were impressed by how big he's gotten and his personality has blossomed further as he's become more comfortable in who he is. These small interactions just solidified how much trust I have in them. They truly don't HAVE to stop to talk to us. It was the end of the day, they were certainly tired. But each one of them have taken the time to notice my son, even when he's not in their class anymore, and to say hi just to say hi. Of course, Mr. Jose and Ms. Juliette certainly have a way with him and the rest of the kids too. He always comes home and teaches us the new sign language he's learned. Mr. Jose has such an awesome, chill big brother vibe. On the administrative side, Ms. Mona is always a ray of sunshine. I have been a parent at Goddard Daycare in StuyTown for over a year now, and I cannot express how grateful I am for this childcare facility. Their staff, goes above and beyond to ensure a nurturing and educational environment for our little ones. First and foremost, I would like to mention some of the amazing teachers who have played a significant role in making our experience at Goddard Daycare so positive. Mr. Jose- is a treasure and this school should do everything in their power to keep him because he has MADE our son's entire experience at this daycare so special. He has a natural talent for connecting with the children and creating engaging activities that promote learning and creativity Miss Juliette- has such a warm demeanor with all the kids and they love her and feel happy in her presence Miss Mona - her greetings are the kind that immediately turn you into a morning person and the children have always loved her (and I have too!) Miss Jillian - My son runs to the office to say goodbye to Jillian on a daily basis, we cannot leave until he does so. Mr. Cheikh - His ability to anticipate any child's needs is remarkable. I will also say he is particularly amazing at redirecting the kids as different moods and emotions arise. Miss Diana- My son just thinks she is so cool and for me she is just a solid teacher that engages well with all kids Miss Sofie is new to me but she is very good at communicating with parents and sharing little snippets of the kid's days at pick up, which I LOVE! Miss Aileen- has had both of my children in her classes and I am very thankful to her positivity and resilience with the little ones! An honorable mention to Miss Victoria and Miss Mia in the Shark room where our son gets to visit from time to time and often wants to stay in. The daycare itself is well-maintained, clean, and exceptionally organized. The classrooms are bright and inviting, providing a stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. And upon reflection, as our son turns one, I can honestly say it was the best decision we've made--both for his development and ours. His teachers, Ms. Sonia and Ms. Angie, are like family to him. He adores them, and the classroom is such a warm, welcoming environment that he takes to it like a duck takes to water. Despite his young age he's made friends in his classroom and is simply a happy baby. What I find most rewarding about Goddard is how much his teachers care. My husband used to be a teacher, and that care is so appreciated from the other side. From his daily reports to just talking about his day, his teachers always seem to truly love him, and watch over him. We enrolled our daughter at Goddard when she was 13 months old and she is now almost 22 months old and we have seen her blossom and learn so much in the time she has been at Goddard.The environment at the school is warm and nurturing, from the smiling faces that welcome her at drop off to the best teachers ( Ms Aimmee and Ms Jada) and the wonderful staff I could not have asked for a better school for my child. My son spent 1.5yrs at Goddard Stuytown until we permanently moved. I highly recommend this school. They have amazing caring teachers, new facilities (set up 2 years ago), engaging and diversified curriculum, a well balanced meal supplier, plus all the outdoor facilities within Stuytown (playgrounds, water park, etc.). My 2 year old daughter has been at Goddard since she was 4 months old. We have truly loved all of her teachers and know she is loved and cared for everyday (Ms. Sonia and Ms. Carmen were especially wonderful in the first year). The curriculum provides the perfect amount of structure and we have seen so much growth and development. While there are a lot of options for daycares, a few things really make Goddard stand out from the rest. One is that food is provided. As busy working parents this saves so much time and energy. The menus are diverse and can accommodate lots of food restrictions and sometimes I think my daughter is eating better than we are! The second is the location in stuytown. We don't personally live in stuytown but the fact that the kids can easily go on walks and play outside is a big plus that many daycares cannot easily offer. Lastly, the support offered by Mona and Jillian at the front desk has been instrumental and has made each classroom transition much easier! read more

Sonia and Angie in the guppy room for infants are both wonderful. They are both kind and capable. There is a happy and playful atmosphere in the room. They keep the children on a schedule and are adept at handling crying babies in a calm and soothing manner. Aside from a safe and nurturing environment, they provide interactive experiences with reading and playing. They know the babies individually and provide details of the day at pick up. We are extremely happy with Goddard of Stuytown. The school was re-opening after covid under a new Goddard flag and we were able to get our daughter into the infant room at 4 months old. As first time parents, we were nervous about our baby spending so much time away from us, but Ms. Sonia and the teaching aides made us feel comfortable immediately while also working with us on a feeding / care plan. Our daughter is now two years old and has gone on to love each of her subsequent teaching groups (Ms. Carmen and Ms. Kayla and now Ms. Tia and Ms. Sidney). We pick her up smiling every day (usually with a cool new hairstyle) and we know that she is both eating and sleeping well, and most importantly is engaged and learning every day. Every morning she lists her friends that is she going to see in class that day. In addition to the great educational programing, would also call attention to the great and friendly administrative staff (especially Mona and Jillian) who greet all of us every AM and hand out stickers on the way out every evening. As an aside, they open from 8AM to 6PM, perfect for working parents. Overall I would highly recommend Goddard Stuytown to local parents. read more

I've been sending my Pre-K daughter to Goddard for the last two years and we've both been so happy there. The school administration is very communicative, responsive to questions/suggestions, and the teachers are very engaged and take such good care of the children. Ms. Victoria and Ms. Mia in particular have instilled a great mix of learning (reading, writing, chess), active play (gym and outdoor playground time), and fun (arts and crafts, Halloween costume parade) in the classroom. We are heading to Kindergarten next fall and will be so sad to leave this amazing school. Highly recommend for families in the area with little ones. read more

We recently left the Goddard school, but only because we left New York City! The Goddard school was so amazing, and we had an incredibly pleasant experience there because of the teachers and staff! Ms. Carmen eased our minds as our daughter entered the school and was just the best teacher we could have asked for our daughter's pre toddler time. Ms. Sade and Ms. Aileen were equally important to our satisfaction with the school, our daughter loved them and they cared for her and enriched her so much, it just makes my heart so happy.
