Scheduled an interview which was confirmed and then promptly cancelled by the business. Had to call and ask why (explanation: "We are not doing tours or visits"). They went on to say my 2.5 year old son would first have to enroll (so money would need to be exchanged and contracts signed) and then (and only then) would he (and only he) be allowed into their business. I was informed that I would not under any circumstances be allowed through their doors: "We would show him around but you can't go in with him." This is not recommended behavior by any child care policy setting body in the US. It's sickening to think that this business actually thinks this is an acceptable way to introduce toddlers to day care. It's actually alarming and disgusting. read more

We LOVE TLE in Yorktown! We joined in July 2018 because our old daycare closed. The teachers have been amazing and I feel like they are almost friends caring for my son. They keep me up to date on all his developments, and I can tell how much they care about him. The curriculum for all kids is great and is teaching them at a very young age about art, music, language, science/math, etc. My sons language and comprehension has skyrocketed because of these folks and I couldn't be happier. I would not recommend TLE...there are much better daycares and pre-schools in the area. Do your homework before even considering this place. Things have changed since my first born went there when it first opened. they were more organized and caring. Unfortunately it was not the case with my second. read more

My 17 month old son recently started at TLE this September 2021 and he is thriving! His teachers provide robust and varied instruction to build fundamental developmental skills while having fun. Moreover, I can easily communicate with them during the day when necessary. Lastly, TLE teachers and administrative staff has demonstrated care and attentiveness with COVID protocols. Our son has attended The Learning Experience since he was 10 weeks old. He will be graduating to K this year, so he has spent all of his life here! We love The Learning Experience! The staff is great--friendly, loving, helpful, knowledgeable, welcoming, and more! The deciding factor for us in choosing TLE was in great part, their hours! I absolutely love this daycare. My son has been going since June 2018 after a horrible, traumatizing experience with his last daycare that has since closed down. It is such an amazing difference bringing him here. The staff is great, friendly, everyone knows all the kids by name even if they aren't in their classroom. It is clean and has a great curriculum. My son has been so much happier since attending here and that solidifies I made the right decision. Definitely recommend! read more

After looking at tens & tens of places, we finally decided to give this place a shot (a bit longer than we wanted to drive). Wow oh wow! The staff are all great. So flexible, understanding. The place is bright & super clean. My baby started at 7.5 months old (been a few weeks), & she's so happy to be there (can you imagine- actually happy!). She loves the main teacher in her room, Ms Kristin; she literally smiles with such great joy every time we arrive there. For comparisons sake, I must share what I'm comparing this place to. We visited a couple of daycare centers & a few family daycares over a period of a few months. The daycare centers were all kind of clean, so that's standards (although this place has an extra shine - a clean smell in the air). The staff and preschool curriculum is where it gets tricky. When we visited other daycare centers, the directors were all wonderful. My baby however wouldn't be in their care! So when entering baby rooms, I noticed a common theme in the rooms- the staff usually look tired, disinterested, & definitely didn't want to talk to me! Not this place. During my tour here, the staff (in room & in hallways) all looked engaged & they spoke! They actually spoke, said hello. Then, while asking a question on the tour, the (I think assistant director) looked to the room teachers to answer me. This was a huge deal. It showed us that the leadership values & respects their employees- & their employees are empowered & knowledgeable. This has since been proven to be accurate :-). Other things in the other centers included too many cribs in one room, not enough flexibility in baby schedule, & frankly, poor behaving kids. (Thinking about when she's older). Ok, the family daycares- were a joke. I've seen amazing ones in lower Westchester & some great ones for preschoolers. But there are no good ones in the area. What do I classify as "good?" Clean! That's it. Filthy, dingy, mold smelling, old, stuffy is what we found. Additionally, the family daycares wouldn't typically have a child of the same age as my baby- which isn't a great thing! I want the growing & learning to happen with others of similar age! Family daycares offer no flexibility in baby schedules. Their staff is terrible (if they hire anyone beyond the spouse) - because the benefits/pay they can provide are not sustainable for any great childcare worker. I guess the cleanliness is where I'm stuck - I don't care if everything was great, the family daycares we've seen were just overwhelmed with stuff & filth. And, they are not cheaper than a clean full center!! Back to the learning experience, they're structured, clean, super friendly, baby knowledgable, they go out of their way to make you & baby comfortable. They will go above & beyond. I'm almost sad when my baby has to miss a day! I look forward to her going & enjoying her day with her baby friends! Before stepping into this place, I never thought Id feel like that about any place- couldn't even imagine! Leaving her I someone else's care is very tough, but I'm super happy that we're lucky enough to have it be here! Ok, my longest review ever- & for once, it's not about food! read more

TLE in Yorktown is by far the best place in the world for our kids. All the teachers are extremely caring and every person that we have interacted with has always been attentive and listened to our concerns. We really couldn't have picked a better place to help teach and care for our children. read more
