The employee that "greeted" us never once asked my child's name or acknowledged him. So I guess that was a good indicator that she wasn't in it for the right reasons. It was a terrible first impression and not a welcoming atmosphere. For this place to be a "stars" program would they treat auditors the same way?

I filed a CPS complaint against them and it went nowhere. I had a bad feeling going there but it was the closest option to our house so I tried to make it work. We had reservations about it and wished we had trusted our gut instincts. In the 2.5ish months we were there, we received almost no communication from staff unless they needed more diapers/wipes. Our kid came home multiple times with bruises, bumps, abrasions, and bite marks, and never had any explanation. Staff would claim they "didn't know" anything happened, but with our kid being less than two years old we became more and more concerned. Last Friday my husband picked up our son and he looked like his face had been run over. He had abrasions from the bottom of his left jaw to his hair line on the left side. His lip was busted and he had cuts on his chin and above his lip as well. My husband asked what happened and was given the response "he fell," with no further explanation. Needless to say we were both furious and when we contacted administration they knew nothing about it. We finally got word after they watched video, 2 days later,that he fell from the top of the slide and landed on his head. How that does not warrant even a message on the daycare app is insane to me (especially as a nurse). We know children have accidents, and that is fine. But having our kid come home with so many new injuries without any clear communication from staff was terrifying for us. I feel guilty for keeping him there as long as we did but we have recently been touring other facilities and trying to find a solid, trustworthy place so that we didn't have to keep moving facilities for his sake. I wish we had pulled him out sooner. I also wish I could share pictures of his face after the last incident because it looked AWFUL (just a reminder that I'm a nurse so when I say "awful" I really mean it) but we prefer not to have our child's face on the internet for safety reasons. It's been three days and he has scabs and bruises all over the left side of his face. Thankfully, they did allow us to leave without any further payments, but there was NO accountability taken by the facility for any of the incidents or for their lack of communication or negligence. For the price we WERE paying (which I will say was cheaper than most-which makes sense now), the care and communication was abysmal. All children deserve the very best care, and parents deserve to know what is happening with their little ones. I would not recommend this preschool/daycare to anyone. The only recommendation I could give is to scroll past this place. Your kid deserves better.

The teachers (and support staff) in the infant room were incredibly nurturing and attentive. They took the time to really get to know our child's personality and needs, and they communicated with us every step of the way. It was clear from the beginning that this was a true partnership in our child's development, which is invaluable as a first time parent. The level of engagement from the staff has consistently exceeded our expectations. The teachers (and support staff) are not only warm and caring, but they also create a fun, stimulating environment that encourages exploration and growth. We've loved seeing the developmental milestones our child has reached, and we know so much of that progress is thanks to the intentional learning experiences and individual attention provided at Primrose. What stands out the most is how happy our child is when we bring her to school and the immediate engagement with the teachers. She always smiles at drop-off when we hand her to one of her teachers and they are engaged in the conversation about when our child ate last, how she slept the night before, and how her attitude was that morning before coming to school so they know how to best care for her that day. Starting each day off like this is priceless for a parent. Knowing your child is safe, happy and learning is exactly what I would expect from a place like Primrose, and they deliver. My 4 yr old son has the privilege of attending this private "accredited" yes "accredited" preschool and it is phenomenal. He has been to some daycares in the past that swear that their focus is education & challenging the minds of the little ones but trust me, after paying close attention, they were not. I researched and found Primrose before it was even built months ago & decided that this was the place my son had to be no matter how many hours I needed to work--he needed to have the best education. Primrose teachers are degree level teachers who have the know how and ability to work with the kids according to their age group. The kids have a schedule so they aren't being babysat--they're actually learning. I can't tell you how much my son has made a dramatic shift in his behavior and attitude since starting here & it hasn't even been a month. So if you're child is acting out at his/her current school, investigate what's going on--he/she may just be bored from the lack of activity. To top it all off, the owner Anne Almond rocks! Her smile and personality is contagious and the director Laura Paine is irreplaceable in the quality of professionalism and friendliness she displays to each family. Lastly, I'm a foodie so you know I love the fact that they have a Personal Chef who really prepares healthy meals for the children. My son and daughter always come home telling me about the healthy snacks they've had at Primrose. Parents, I know this was long but if you really truly care about your child's education this is the place you'll want them to be. If you have school-aged children, that's no problem. My daughter is 5 and they pick her up on the bus (that has seatbelts...what?!) everyday from school to attend Primrose for Aftercare! I kid you not--we're a military family but now that I've found Primrose and the wonderful staff at East Louisville's location--I really don't want to leave, even with me knowing they have 20 or more locations in other states. This is in a church, so some of the lessons for the older children will be Bible-centered. It has been the best place for our daughter. I have had several friends grow up in Adventure Club's afterschool care program, then later work for the afterschool care program to finally send their own children to Adventure Club. If that is not a testament to the program, I don't know what is. Henley goes Tuesday-Friday and lights up when she sees her teachers and friends in her classroom. Her teachers are kind, sweet and always willing to answer any questions or concerns I have. There is one particular toddler that stops by every morning to hug Henley's teacher. (The toddler use to be one of the teacher's babies). I love the small sizes (no more than 8 to a room) and the sense of community when we go. Henley is in cloth diapers; this was one of the few daycares we toured that had prior experience with cloth diaper babies. It has a lock system to get into the building. Each parent has their own keyfob or code system. If someone else is picking up the child, they must ring a doorbell to get into the building, sign a sign in sheet and then show ID. However, my husband has been required to show ID, even though he has a keyfob, a few times picking up Henley because the teachers are not as familiar with his face. The outside of the building is equipped with a security camera system. I feel extremely safe having my daughter here.
