This is a tattoo and piercing studio! You don't get that vibe walking by or peeking in. Although I live in the area I had never been here before. And frankly had never considered getting a tattoo from this business. A series of events (storm, cancelled flight, worries about bridge closure) put me in Hanalei when I should have been on Oahu. Not wanting to miss a Friday the 13 tattoo I decided to give The Libra Club a go. Everyone that works here is a gorgeous young woman. I mean stunning. I can only imagine the screening and hiring is a vigorous process. The vibe is way more upscale salon than tattoo. Especially the waiting area. No flash on the walls. A few nods to tattoo culture but it is very tastefully appointed. The actual tattooing and piercing are done in the back in a bright white space. Super clean. Not cramped. This was a special event so you first have to put your name on a list using a QR code. That was something new and a bit awkward. I was here first (20 minutes waiting outside before the next person showed up) but when the doors opened everyone on line could scan in. I was racing to get on the list and would have been very pissed if I hadn't been successful at rating first. Yes - it was a very organized way of doing things...but it has the potential of being unfair. Just saying. Most all of the flash was fine line stuff...mostly cute and dainty. Not particularly my style but I found something I liked. My tattooer, Shaula (apologies if I misspelled your name), was sweet and professional and the tattoo was practically done before I even knew it started. It was over all a really relaxing experience. I would return. The best part is I didn't break my streak of getting tattooed on every Friday the 13! Thank you Libra Club! My husband and I went in on a whim knowing we wanted to get a matching tattoo in our favorite town on earth for our "parents vacation" we were greeted by Cara and she was honestly super nice. I went to get a tattoo and the staff was not pleasant. They greeted me like I was bothering them. I said I had an appointment and they got mad at me cause I didn't arrive at the same time as my sister. (I was a few minutes after her). Then I decided to continue and give them a second chance cause it was a special moment for me. The tattoo artist only gave me 3 options on sizes and gave me snarky, short remarks on anything I wanted or asked about. She never talked to me or wanted to change the stencil even though it will be on MY BODY forever. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. I work on island and will definitely be spreading the word on not to go. The tattoo and line-work ended up being crooked and I will NOT be going back for a touch up and will get it fixed by someone else. read more

The three of us had tattoos done here. The vibe is a little on the snooty side. As if they are too busy to be nice. Thought we would give them a second chance. Went back in 2025 (2 out of 3 of us made an appointment). We got to Hanalei early and went in to ask if they could possibly take us in a little earlier. When we asked, one of the tattoo artists snickered as if to say, "yeah right". We left embarrassed and not wanting to go back. The heavens were on our side because we got caught up in a tsunami warning. Thank goodness because I would not have wanted to give them my money anyway. Going to Kauai in July of 2026 and we refuse to ever give them our business again. My kids always give the benefit of the doubt but the owner isn't the nicest or the friendliest. They definitely do NOT exude the aloha spirit that we are used to. read more

I went to Cara, I was visting kauai on vacation loved it but as soon as i walked in here the vibe was completely off. talking shit as soon as i get in there about me and my sister. never told me aftercare, luckily i already knew. i came in for a fine line tattoo medium was roughly 150 not horrible but i shouldnt of tipped at all she was rude it took her like 7 mintures she rushed through it, the line were way too thin so they turned out shakey after healed. i have to get it retouched, i did proper care for like 3 weeks. read more

had a great experience here getting a fine line tattoo. wanted to get a cute permanent souvenir from kauai booking was easy and my artist, shaula, was super responsive on Instagram and answered all my questions. the studio is extremely clean and cute inside. just a heads up that the shop does have a minimum of $150 but the work done is really detailed and beautiful. love my tattoo so much, thank you libra club! read more
