There are desk top computers available to use, printing services.. A lot of students come here to study. The 2nd and 5th floors are collaborative floors, meaning you can talk , also there are plenty of white boards available to write on. You see, often the library feels like a little part of Asia has landed on the UT campus. (see Google Maps for South Asia Institute). In fact, several Asian friends have admitted to coming to the PCL when feeling homesick. Pretty Creepy Library. The dim lights. The constantly running water fountains. The frigid temperatures rivaling the nearest morgue. The voice, for christ sakes. THE PCL VOICE! I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. Pretty Crappy Library. Entering this place is like visiting the 70's. Limited plugs. Uncomfortable chairs. Weird, boxy cubicles. Somewhat practical, but it sure as hell aint pretty. What you should know: Enter on the 2nd floor. Now, before entering you get a choice on how to enter. Are you feeling pretty and adventurous? Take the revolving doors. Practical and pissed. Take the normal doors. How about wasteful and lazy? Yep, the automatic doors. Now, Prufrock's is on the left. Coffee is effective, coffee drinks are meh, food is awful. But if the bald guy is working, just leave. He has an attitude. 1st floor: There's supposedly a map collection down here that people RAVE about. I like this floor, but it does have a basement feel to it. 2nd floor: Computers and collaborative study lounges. Elevator: You will stop on every floor. 3rd floor: Quiet, but empty. So you can get away with a lot. 4th floor: Quiet, but more crowded. Too serious. 5th floor: Collaborative study floor. No work is done here. 6th floor: The most recently renovated floor. Lots of plugs. Quiet, but not too quiet. A lot gets done here. It's actually the Perry Casteneda Library, in case you were wondering.

A few years ago, I had a challenging experience at the Bee Cave Public Library involving my service…read moreanimal.I remember clearly of the Librarian yelled at me said no animals are allowed even service animals. She said she was allergic, so I left with my service animal. Shocked at the behavior of a person who doesn't understand service animals are not pets but a helpful guide dog with people with disabilities. At the time, there was a misunderstanding, and I was treated in a way that was difficult for me. While that experience stayed in my heart, I chose to move forward with forgiveness and understanding, knowing that sometimes people simply don't know what they don't know. Today, I returned to the library for the first time in several years, and I am truly grateful I did. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with genuine respect, kindness, and professionalism. It meant more to me than I can fully express, because it showed growth, compassion, and a willingness to learn from the past. I have always loved public libraries -- especially for discovering incredible books, vintage titles, and sources of profound information that you don't easily find elsewhere. I had no idea this library held such a beautiful and extensive collection, and it reminded me why reading and learning bring me so much joy. This experience healed something for me. I am thankful for the positive change, for the welcoming environment, and for a library that clearly cares about its community. I look forward to returning again and spending many more quiet hours surrounded by books.

This is a small library at the galleria mall. It's across from the lawn/park. There is parking to…read morethe side, and a parking garage not to far away. Their return boxes are on the side where the street parking is. Just a few parking spots. Two very nice lady's were up at the front desk. I had asked about getting a membership, which was a quick form to fill out with basic information. And a drivers license. Within minutes I had my very own Bee Cave library card. Like I said, this is a small library, independent. But they do have a lot of wonderful books to check out for 3 weeks. And if you need to renew a book, it's another 3 weeks. They didn't have the books I was looking for today. But I can alway check back another day, or use the "Libby" app.

Not only did we enjoy the performances, they had a lot of informational booths in the hallway outside. Everyone was so welcoming and sweet. The bathrooms were clean (always a plus). We loved the outside scenery and decor. The staff were very helpful as well. We will have to make a return visit to see about getting library cards or checking out more events in the future. Definitely a hidden gem in ATX.

The process was so easy and stress free. It was a one shop stop. Austin public library (locations depend) does passport photos, that saved us a trip. The check in process when we got there was so quick. Everything just so happened so fast and quick. The employee who helped us send in our documents was so nice and helpful and deserves recognition for his customer service that he provided and with how quick and easy he made it for us. Also, the employee who took our photos for the passport made it quick and easy as well. I highly recommend everyone to come here if you're in need of a passport cause the employees and process itself makes my travel life so much better. Highly recommend. 10/10.
