I stumbled across this Greek deli when I met a friend for lunch at Store Street Espresso a few doors down. There was a crowd outside, which is a good sign in a market driven capitalist society As I was a little early, I popped in to browse in a restrained manner as I already had lunch plans. They had a range of ready to eat food, which was keeping the crowds outside and inside happy - they also have a dining area at the back of the restaurant As well as that, they also had a tempting array of cakes, deli items and Greek goods like sun dried tomatoes and oils to buy and take away. A veritable treasure trove of Greek food items if you're a fan of Greek food and cooking A worthy diversion on this interesting little street just off Tottenham Court Road

Not sure what this is, but it may be the life goddess!

Another glorious find! My supervisor wanted us to try someplace new for lunch, and he brought us to The Life Goddess. They have a fairly simple menu with a few things on it, plus a few Greek pies, sandwiches and baked goods. I opted for the small Greek salad with a meat pie and a spinach pie (as Greek spinach pies are my favorite). I also got a lemon soda sweetened with Stevia. Win! There's a bit of outdoor seating on the pavement in front of the place or there's a few seats in the back. Since it was such a nice day, the outdoor seating was already taken, but the indoor seating was nice and it was quite cool in the back. I did notice several people outside enjoying glasses of white wine so it's nice to know you can go there on a sunny day and relax with a glass. And the food? It's tasty. The Greek salad is light and a mix of massive chunks of mouth-watering tomatoes and cucumbers mixed with olives, onions and Feta cheese. The pies were really well good as well, but the Spinach pie was a clear winner of the two I tried. Inside the restaurant there is a huge section of goods to take away as well. I saw from the tables that they have their own brand of marmelades, oils and vinegars, but in browsing I also saw bags of sun dried tomatoes and other yummy items. The baked goods looked so good that I got a slice of homemade carrot cake to go. I then noticed that they get their coffee from my favorite coffee roaster in London: Ozone Coffee. I had to get a iced coffee drink to take with me. I'm drinking the delicious coffee and eating the cake as we speak. The cake is amazing. It's ridiculously moist with a creamy (and not too sweet!) cream cheese frosting. It may be the best carrot cake I've eaten since moving to London. In fact, I just took another bite. YUM. Delicious Greek food and amazing baked goods? You've sold me! I hope to take many lunches here!

Quite an interesting place. It's good for coffee and pastries or for brunch/lunch. The wooden interior is also quite nice. Not the best place for a big group though. Had their spinach and feta pie, which was filling. Interestingly though, they served my friend's pie hot and warm but mine was cold. Not sure if they forgot... it still tasted good but would have been better if served warmed.

The meal was absolutely fabulous. Get the chefs special if it fits your desire. The meat was well prepared and good sized portions.

Couldn't recommend it more. Chicken Mezze plate was very good, tender and juicy but not under cooked, good variance in type of chicken as well. Falafel could have been the best I have ever had. Can always tell the quality of it by the dryness and chick pea to herb ratio. Fantastic. Garlic potatoes - very good with peppers. Cold Mezze- excellent but would have wanted more tabouleh if possible but you can't have everything. Hummus Babaganoush and Labneh all top draw. With a good glass of red the whole thing came to less than 80 pounds. Unreal. Service was ace not a thing to complain about. What a place. The service was okay except for our server lady, she seemed a bit rude. The other severs were all pretty good. The atmosphere is very very pretty. Especially inside! Maybe my friend over-sold it and got my expectations up too high, because I was pretty disappointed in this dinner. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We said still and were brought out a £4.50 bottle. I know it's common to charge for water in Europe, so I didn't think much about it until I noticed that everyone else around us had refillable glass bottles -- free tap water that we were never even told was an option. We were seated downstairs at a large communal table. I don't necessarily mind that, but it was so loud that having a conversation was very difficult. My cocktail was delicious, but so tiny. The wine list was decent -- a good mix of options at various price points. As for the food, it was very hit or miss. The mushroom starter and the pork main dish were delicious. Unfortunately, the two most expensive dishes were disappointing. The prawns had great flavor, but a strangely soft, mushy texture. For me, the flavor made the weird texture okay, but my husband couldn't get over the mushiness of the shrimp and hated this dish. The sea bream was very bland and dry -- highly disappointing for the most expensive item on the menu. We ended on a high note with the affogato dessert (Yum!), but for such an expensive meal, there were just a few too many misses for us.

I'd come with a good crew to enjoy a range of dishes. The beauty's in the sharing…read more Bathrooms are unsettlingly mirrored. Kind of fun, check it out.
