The staff was rude and dismissive. I walked in seeking recommendations and advice to get started with some alocasia corms I recently acquired elsewhere and they refused to help stating they "need to make money and I should look on the internet for advice." I do not live in the area and cannot attend workshops so I wanted to speak with an experienced gardener at a local shop for information on materials I could purchase to get started as a beginner gardener. I was fully intending on purchasing various propagation mediums and was looking for a recommendation based on what they had available. I was also looking forward to browsing for a new houseplant but I did not like his attitude so I left immediately. For a place that advertises plant education I was very disappointed and discouraged from asking for advice. This interaction directly went against their advertised mission. read more

This is a really cute store, jam-packed with very healthy and happy houseplants and accessories! My daughter passed this shop on her way to cosmetology school and had been wanting to check it out for a while. It's not a very big shop, but holds a surprising amount of plants and products. I think this would be a great place to shop for your houseplant-loving friends and family. They have a great pot selection, and macrame plant hangers too. We didn't end up buying anything this time, but we will be back. read more

We drove to the Li'l Plant shop to confine feeding our plant obsession. It is located on the main street with parking in the back of the store. It's not a huge shop, but they had a pretty good variety for the size. I think what made this store 4 stars instead of 3 was that we were made to feel welcome and walk around and when we asked questions they were so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They packaged our plants well and gave us a complimentary mini tera cotta pot and a mini spider plant. I think this is also what made it 4 stars- they really were very nice. While we were walking around, another customer had come in and asked a ton of questions...they took the time to answer all her questions and make suggestions. In the end, the woman didn't buy anything but they told her when she was ready that they'd help her re-pot her plant. Supporting local shops is important to us. What a fantastic little place, unlike anything else in the area. As a blossoming house plant fanatic, you can't imagine how excited I was to move away from Home Depot plant purchases that were already unhealthy when you buy them, and die within a few months. The Li'l Plant Shop is full of friendly, family owned charm, and extensive horticultural knowledge that you would really have a hard time finding in person somewhere else around here. Perhaps the loveliest part about plant shopping here is that I no longer have to wander around, reading tags sticking out of pots, and googling whether this would be an appropriate plant for the conditions of my home. In stead, a seasoned plant aficionado suggests plants that are ideal for, say, low lighting, high oxygen production and air purification, safety around certain household pets, limited or high maintenance, etc. After a fantastic experience shopping here a few weeks ago when I purchased a stunning Boston fern, an impressive snake plant, and a few other bits and pieces, I decided to sign myself and a few friends up for their bonsai class. Not only did we receive an in depth demonstration and assistance on potting and displaying our bonsai plants, we also got an informative session on almost every aspect of bonsai history, misconceptions and rookie mistakes in bonsai care and a series of other fascinating tidbits, all while drinking wine. I really cannot rate this little gem highly enough! If you are looking to add some green energy to your home, this is the place to go. read more

What a great Lil shop! Jeff was so helpful, answered all of my questions and directed me in the right place for what I was looking for. Adorable shop, family owned. I would return here in a heart beat. I had a question about a plant that is very important to me that I have some anxiety around potentially killing with transplanting it. He offered for me to bring the plant in and to work in the work space to transplant with him there. Big relief and will be doing that in the spring. Thanks so much!! read more

I have purchased 3 plants from this store over the past year. ALL have died. I have many plants, but I do not know why these have died. I have contacted them twice to speak to the owner, with NO response. I have a gift card and I don't want to continue to purchase from this store. Seems that they do NOT guarantee their products. I walked in with a friend after 6:00 pm. We were there for over 15 minutes and not one associate was in the store. There was no bell to ring, I repeatedly said "Hello" loud and clear. They're lucky we aren't the shop lifting type, because it would be extremely easy for someone to just walk in and steal a lot of product. Bad customer service. read more

Stopped in and wasn't sure what to expect, but this shop sure exceeded my expectations. The store owner named Carly came right up to me, made me feel welcome, and asked me everything I wanted for my planters I brought in. She was so patient with me (I was walking around the shop and being indecisive for probably an hour), and she views plants from a therapeutic and beautiful perspective. She has you handle the plant and put them into the planters to connect you with nature and your work of art! I WILL be back and I'm thinking of hosting an employee get together here for a team building/ bonding activity! read more

We decided to go to an event here after seeing an event on facebook that said it was all day long(ended at 7pm). we walked in about 5 and was told by the employee that the event ended at 2pm. I told her that the event on facebook said all day and she said nope. Instead of asking us if we wanted to make something she just sat there while we looked around. I asked questions about making plants and she finally said "we can make one now if you want." Instead of teaching and helping I was trying to pick things out and she was being very condescending and made me feel dumb. I walked out of the shop with my plant feeling uneasy instead of happy. I really wanted to like this place and recommend it but I just can't My boyfriend decided not to participate because he did not like the customer service. read more

What a wonderful little shop! I went in today (2 days before Christmas) to find a succulent to put in a little plant holder i had ordered as a gift and was pleasantly surprised by the selection. I was greeted as soon as I entered and the delightful shop owner assisted me in choosing and planting 2 succulents in the planter. They also have a variety of decorations you can add, i chose clear crystals to look like snow and a little Christmas tree for this occasion but there were several other options ranging from more natural to more colorful to suit many tastes. I also grabbed a beautiful pre-potted succulent in a ceramic pot as a last minute gift for a neighbor. I could not believe that the entire purchase came to less than $20!!! I am so happy i came in here, my expectations were exceeded in every way.
