I had a good two night stay here. While the hotel is showing it's age, they maintain it well. The lobby area has been updated but the rest looks early to late 1990s style. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was clean and relatively quiet. The room was showing it's age but again they seem to try to keep it maintained. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked. The shower had great water pressure. The parking garage for self parking is easy to navigate but it's a bit of a trek from room to car. Part of a flight crew that had to divert and stay in Lincoln, the front desk staff was super accommodating and efficient in handling a large, unplanned crew of 8! Rooms aren't updated, but clean and cozy and has a super cute restaurant, Miller Time Pub & Grill I knew I'd grab food from later. Well, Georgia and staff were incredibly personable, patient with my indecisive nature in deciding what to order. Went with the fish and chips and while waiting, had the most delicious Homemade Potato chips at the bar. Go see Georgia and crew...you won't be disappointed! read more

I always have a good stay at Marriott hotels. The staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the decor in the lobby with the staircase, piano, and library sitting area. They also have a lunch/dinner restaurant Miller Time Pub the food is good American pub bar food. In the morning they have a cafe with either order by menu or breakfast buffet selection. We ordered by menu. The pool area is indoor bellow the lobby level and me and my wife had it to ourselves at around 9am. But when you stay in a hotel the whole thing really comes down to the room. Outdated and scuffed up furniture. The bathroom was small and dated (the toilet seat had paint missing, it had seen many butts). One good thing in the room though is that the mattress was very comfortable. read more

Great stay at The Cornhusker. I enjoyed all the snacks and refreshments that the concierge lounge had to offer on the 10th floor. Espresso and trail mix really came in handy before hitting the gym in the lower level. Fitness area was a good size and the pool wasn't busy at all. My best friend got married at this hotel and I was her bridesmaid. I have my share of pros and cons: PRO - The staircase at the main entrance is beautiful and a great photo opportunity. - The hall where the wedding took place was spacious and breathtaking. - The staff was very professional and polite making the check-in and check-our process very easy. - They provide a shuttle that can take you to and from the airport to the hotel (but be careful because they only function certain hours-which conflicted with many peoples flight schedules causing them to pay for a taxi). CONS - Room always felt damp. In the morning it was too hot and in the nighttime it was too cold. (My poor sister got really sick due to the climate and dampness of the of the room). - Valet was too expensive. They were never around and lost my best friends car, which took them 2 hours to locate it. - I have a small child and called and requested a pack and play and was assured multiple times it would be in my room but it wasn't and took hours for them to provide. - The refrigerador did not work at its full capacity. It barely cooled our beverages or my sons milk. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a conference and we enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff was kind and helpful. They have a beautiful lobby, a well stocked mini "store", a Starbucks, and a restaurant so we didn't feel the need to leave the building the whole night. The reason I did not give five stars is for little details. Our room had no trash bags and the check in process took a long time. I understand the room card maker wasn't working, not the fault of the staff, but Marriott should make sure their front desk is set up to excel. read more

I recently was a guest at this Marriott property in downtown Lincoln for a wedding. This was one of the finer Marriott properties in which I've stayed, and this is why: it was still very traditional and offered amenities that other properties do not offer. For example, they have a very robust in-room dining menu, great water pressure, and their "king size" room is truly king sized, very spacious. Moreover, they have a great bar/grille style restaurant within and it's very convenient and well priced. All the staff at check-in were very friendly and pleasant, as well as accommodating. And, most importantly, their mattress was awesome. Each night was an absolute great sleep. I highly recommend this Marriott property if staying in downtown Lincoln. read more

Only here for a couple of days so didn't bother questioning it or complaining. Desk staff less than helpful, try to avoid John - a very arrogant guy - he needs a course in customer service. Stayed here over a Husker home game weekend. The room was expensive for what you get.. but that is Lincoln on a home game weekend. Checkin was "uneventful". Being a Plat Elite with Marriott, I asked about an upgrade (never had to ask when I was with SPG, but seems it never happens with Marriott unless you ask). She looked at me like I had three heads... It was kind of awkward. The Nebraska team stayed at the hotel the night before the game. Didn't bring any drawbacks with that... they were all well behaved and we didn't really hear or see them at all. As far as SPG properties for game day, I would check out the Courtyard Marriott instead... Just didn't seem this place cared about status and the room I got was nothing special. The free shuttle was nice and saved us a few bucks getting to the airport. read more

I'm so sad. This hotel is not what it was. State music convention is something I always look forward to. The staff was gruff, they overcharged my card, which left no money to navigate food for the weekend. The parking for hotel guests I believe used to be complimentary. I know we need to update prices to keep with the current status of the economy but if the quality of service declines... Keep in mind we are students and employees with low incomes. We all are living on tight budgets. We were quoted a convention rate price when we booked the room, but there was no mention of the hold fee. These are our top students and their instructors. The most outstanding musicians and teachers across the state. Imagine a high school kid with just the bare minimum their parents could afford to send them with, ready to take the Lied stage, rehearsing for 8 hours per day...with no food budget left because they believed the price you quoted them. Not every school district pays for their kids and staff to come and be a state champion. *** Side note...please update your Starbucks weekend hours. If you open at 7 instead of 6:30, you had folks waiting that needed to go present professional seminars. It would help folks plan their tight morning schedules. Update: upon checkout, the manager was very sympathetic and granted us some accommodations to help! That was appreciated! Helped us with our meal and parking situation. Thank you so much for doing that! She was also very apologetic regarding the miscommunications that happened regarding rates and policies. read more

I was very pleased with my room and my stay! I booked a King room on a Concierge level and the room was well furnished with a seating area, desk, sofa and coffee table. The mini-fridge in room and microwave are tucked away in case you need them. It also had a very large closet if you are staying a while and would like to unpack. Everything was very clean, and the views from the higher floors are worth keeping the blinds open. Access to the Concierge Lounge was a nice bonus for breakfast and some light fare in the evening, but cocktails are not complimentary at this location. Both times I visited the lounge during Happy Hour, it was very loud and people were a little rowdier than I expected. The staff was exceptional and every service interaction was excellent. Everyone from the valet to the front desk were friendly and personable, even when though the hotel was booked to capacity during our visit. Checking in and out was still a breeze even though it was busy, and we were never left waiting for service. This is a good location, and within walking distance of pretty much anything you could possibly need. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants, and bars within walking distance, and the area is beautifully maintained. I enjoyed taking long walks around the area every day during my stay to enjoy all of the public art in Lincoln. Speaking of walking, there is a parking garage behind the hotel, but I decided to valet my car when I arrived. It should be noted that there is a $20 per day fee for the valet, regardless of if you use your car or not. I think in the future I would not opt to use the valet knowing the price and that I would not need access to a car to get around. My only complaint regarding the property is how heavy the room doors are. They are very heavy and because of this you will hear slamming doors during your entire stay. We did our best to be mindful and close our door quietly, but not everyone will be this thoughtful. read more

I had reservation, I had an ID and a credit card. I was not allowed to get my room as my wife reserved the room. I had to have a my wife call them and say the room was for me. They didnt ask for verification of who was on the other end of the phone. I could have just reserved the room at the front desk and had better service. Rude front desk guy, manager wouldnt even come out of her office. I have had rooms in Lincoln for 2x/week for 10 weeks. I have the marriot app on my phone, showed them the reservation and the Marriot account number. Nothing mattered. Hotel is "updated" its old and nostalgic I guess. Expected higher quality service and better furnishings for a Marriot. Old hotel with that old feel you cant get out of a tired establishment. Felt like a Super 8 Motel. Resturant was a bit pricey for a burger joint. Pay for parking or use the street for free. Marriot status doesnt mean a thing at this Motel. read more

Falsely accused of smoking in the room and charged a $291 "cleaning fee". Checked in, went to the hotel restaurant for dinner and as I'm leaving the restaurant security pulls me aside and claims they could smell smoke coming from my room. Forced me to sign a document about the cleaning fee so I could regain entry to the room and retrieve my belongings. Security had gone into my room without notifying me and claimed they found a vape pen in my room. Terrible experience, I would not recommend. read more

Can't say I was impressed by my stay at this Marriot. The parking garage is under construction, requiring a lengthy walk before you can even get to check in. The restaurant down stairs was nice, as were the front desk people. The room was another story; with a barely functional shower that couldn't hardly get hot , a toilet that would not stop running, my TV looked as though it had taken a rather large fall... and to top it off my room smelled very off, like the staff had forgotten to clean anything but the sheets and bedding. Night shift "manager" was of no help to get the issue resolved and seemed like he had more important things to attend to. I've stayed in my share of these nicer hotels and sadly this one doesn't live up to what it could be, maybe they'll earn a chance to bump this review up later. read more

Great hotel and an even better price! The rooms are very clean, the bed and pillows are super yummy and the flat screen is a 42" LG, not one of those cheap tv's (it's the little things in life). I have stayed numerous amounts of times while in Lincoln for business. Close to the office and near a bunch of food places, restaurant in the building as well. I like that they have free wi-fi, a concierge lounge that offers free breakfast and evening managers reception (including beer/wine/liquor)--I believe that you would need to stay in one of the concierge floor rooms to partake---so feel free to make a request when you stay. I love the bath products since they are from bath and body works--orange ginger scent. They also offer complimentary apples in the lobby--so be sure to grab one for a snack. Room size is adequate and has a decent selection of TV channels. Overall I have always had good experiences during my stays. read more

The Cornhusker is just... ok. It's an older hotel that has a fresh coat of paint, and provides Marriott accommodations even though it isn't a Marriott. Rooms include a flat panel television, but mine wouldn't turn on. Be forewarned that I did hear of a couple who brought a printed reservation confirmation who were practically turned away because the hotel was "completely booked." I'm not sure how you can turn someone away when they have a printed reservation! The hotel then found that they had a one bed junior suite available. Since this couple wanted 2 beds, another guest was willing to switch with them (his room had 2 beds) only to find out that this "junior suite" had a sofa but NO BED!. read more

I was hesitant about staying here since I had a horrible experience 3 years ago in the Concierge Lounge. I took a chance and hoped things had changed and they have. I saw lots of diverse hires at this location and all were great employees and extremely friendly as well as helpful. The facility is older but the rooms are comfortable, the services, amenities are very good, and the lounge on the 10th floor has greatly improved since my last stay. Their parking structure is pretty tight and cramped and the pricing is on the higher side for Lincoln, NE.
