I immediately thought I must've read their hours wrong for a Saturday. As it turned out, I hadn't read them wrong. Their hours said they would be open until 5 PM. Boy I felt like I had been punched in the gut. It wouldn't have been so bad, but I made a special trip from out of town. I really felt unappreciated as a customer. Maybe the owner needs to realize that customer service is more than just assisting people inside the store, but also entails giving reliable information to their customers. Elgin is lucky to have a great place where we can go get what we need quickly and have people there who know what they are talking about. And so, some of the prices, not all, but some are a little more than the big box stores. The way I look at it is, my time is worth more than saving a few bucks here or there. I value my time and will continue to give E&T first shot at just about everything I need and only go to Lowes or HD when either E&T does not have what I need or the price is such that I have no other choice.

After contacting both Bart Fireside and the manufacturer, Stoll Industries, Stoll acknowledged the mistake and sent the correct part at no cost. Bart Fireside refused to issue a refund for the incorrect item, stating that I had received the part I needed, which contradicts Stoll's confirmation. I am disappointed with Bart Fireside's handling of this situation and their lack of accountability.

We went this fall to get a new fire screen and fire tool set. They have a great selection. My husband installed it and after he finished, we noticed it was the wrong color. The company came back over and took it out and boxed it up. They did a reorder for us. After many weeks they brought over the new one and it looks great! However, it's now too hot for a fire. We did throw a couple of logs in the fireplace and lit them to see how it looked. Looks great!
