Unfortunately, the business is currently closed for remodeling. I hope it returns to as a bookstore very soon. We held my bookclub's May meeting in it and it was very accommodating and comfortable. There was a great selection of book genres and some very cute gifts, including jewelry, puzzles, magnets, etc. It has an area to eat snacks/sip a drink, and comfy chairs to sit in while having a meeting. There's parking directly in front.

this bookstore is my #1 go to spot when i need my reading fix. this is a woman-owned and operated business, making it SENSATIONAL to all of it's competitors. i've been here for multiple events and workshops that the owner hosts and i can honestly say its the highlight of my month coming to the Lounge. the prices of the workshops are fair and extremely low for the quality of the activitied. the owner also hosts monthly books clubs of multiple different genres, making everyone feel like they have a place in the coziest little bookstore. going to the lounge is a MUST.

Such a cute bookstore! Teacher owned and Woman Owned. I am just in awe of how cute and homey this bookstore is. The owner is super pleasant and knowledgeable about books. They are also offering tutoring and events like book clubs and signings! Definitely an up and coming Murray Hill gem!!!

The bagel was hot and really delivered on the jalapeño and cheese. And the chai latte had really good flavor. There was a good amount of seats, with good wifi, and I did see some outlets! The bookstore itself is also really nice. It's pretty organized but also feels kind of chaotic in the best way. And it's way bigger than I thought. I low-key got lost in the shelves, but they have signs pointing to the exit thankfully.

Convenientlly located within walking distance to the library and James Weldon Park, this is an unbeatable location for a cafe/bookstore. The bookstore itself is an iconic local business, with the uptown being its second location. The collection of used books is massive, and the multimedia selections range from CDs/DVDs to even board games. The trade in program is a great way to reward patrons and loyal customers, and teachers receive a discount with proof of employment. Makes sure to follow the Instagram for the location as they have an offering of free events like Blackout poetry classes every 2nd and 4th Sunday. This is a great location, and definitely a prime spot for a friend gathering or just a chance to have a quiet space to catch up on your tbr list.

Don't sleep on your local bookstores!…read more We participated this morning in a group walk and afterward, of course we had to stop into the bookstore! It's basically the law - you're in San Marco square, you go to San Marco book store. The book selection is ever evolving so there is always some new treasure to discover among the stacks. And often, I find books in there less expensive than Amazon. And there is a selection of books with author signatures as well, for no additional cost. Some of the signed ones have been ordered from the publisher, but a good portion of those come from live author events the book store participates in. There are so many wonderful events you can attend here, like the author signings mentioned above (and of course a slew of other things) And often, those authors will sit for a chat. I discovered a new favorite author when I accidentally stumbled into one of those events. It was neat to hear her discuss her book and answer some great questions. The. Store is also very involved in the community around them which I love. (The owner even participates in the group walks in the area sometimes!) They also partner with the library for some larger author signings and other events. If you love reading, this is a must visit!

Located behind Cultivate on Park Street, Vanessa curates her tiny store with diverse and forward-thinking books spanning all genres of fiction and nonfiction, as well as adorable stickers and reading tchotchkes. I'm a big fan of their Blind Date with a Book, which you can also find at other local stores like Temporium. If they don't have a book that you may be on the look out, there's a little box to request it. They hold wonderful events that are inclusive of everyone, and they put the community first time and time again. They partner with other local businesses to host events, such as hosting their book club at Alewife (RIP) or now BREW. I think my favorite events that they've held have been the Book Club Fairs (where you can meet the leaders of different book clubs in Jax), Grown-Up Book Fairs (think Scholastic Book Fair for adults), and their Book Swaps (where you can bring up to 10 of your own used books and swap for 10 new-to-you used books).
