Family Physicians of Johnson County - check in spot for the Family Physicians clinic

I had called my family doctor's office near Greenwood to see if I could schedule an appointment with the doctor, but when told she was on vacation until the next week, I was referred to this location as an alternative to waiting for my doctor to return to practice. The office even went ahead and secured a visit time the next morning for me to get my congested sinus problem looked at. Located just west of the hospital in Franklin in the Professsionals building which is clearly marked with the address to identify it as being separate from the hospital, my wife dropped me off at the entrance and I was cleared through Covid protocols and soon headed back to the check in location. I identified myself and was asked to wait for just a few minutes. I was pleased that the Dr I was told who would be helping me greeted me and I was taken back to a room. Because it was quickly determined that I was basically having sinus problems and some hearing loss due to allergies, no infection was detected, one of the assistant staff walked me through using an ear cleaning procedure (Just to eliminate any possible contributors to the hearing loss) which helped. I was also told how to use inhalers properly (not like I had been taught as a kid) and given notice that I would have some prescriptions at my local pharmacy to pick up to manage my reactions to the allergies. I was in and out in a very timely manner. The prescriptions were already called in and were being filled by the time I got back to my local pharmacy. Everyone I dealt with was upbeat and helpful. I wish all clinic and hospital visits were this efficient. One of the best if not THE best check in and processing I've experienced. Despite the troubles that many places are having during the pandemic, FP of JC is a beacon of how things should work. I am already noticing improvements after just one day. No problems using the tools they suggested for ear and sinus maintenance and I got a great night's sleep. I have a follow up scheduled in 2 weeks just to be sure there are no problems lingering and no signs of infection as well. I appreciate their working to fit me into their schedule on such a short notice for something that probably wasn't critical in nature. Thanks to all the folks who helped me. For your skill and attitude, I give you five stars! Review #3807

If you are in need of urgent care this is the place you go. They are amazing! So friendly,…read morehelpful, and caring. I did not have a long wait and the staff was so kind. The doctor was fabulous! He actually looked at me and listened to me as I spoke. The last two doctors I visited never once looked at me. They only looked at the paperwork but not at the form I was required to fill out as I got to my appointment, that asked forty questions. They basically made judgements based on whatever it was they were reading and never responded to anything I asked about or tried to tell them. The doctor at Urgent Care was the polar opposite! He looked, listened, then asked if I had any other concerns, and genuinely seemed to care! This is medicine as it was really intended to be performed. Love this place!

What a sh*t show. The front desk- I believe she said her…read morename is Mary- hates her job and makes sure everyone else is well aware of that. Wearing her mask below her nose--way to let people know up front you have zero belief in the realm in which you work--she didn't even say anything after I gave her my name. ??? When I called back right after leaving to ask my Rx be sent to a different place (because it's a holiday weekend, and I called and found they are closed next 2 days) Mary did not pass on the message. (I'm going to assume by her lackluster prior performance that Mary is the culprit because the nurse and doc were nice and looked like they new what they were doing.) The phone lines were already shut before closing time, so when I reached the substitute pharmacy an hour later, they didn't have what I needed. So I just again want to give Mary an extra shout out for being an incompetent waste of space out there making the world a worse place, and made sure that someone sick and in pain could not get the medication they needed. Too bad this was all a waste of time. Never again.

Her bedside manner is kind, caring, meticulous, thorough and relaxed. She is not pretentious whatsoever. I appreciate a doctor who treats a patient with respect and in a humanizing and humble way. Relating to a patient is very important in the medical field. If it's not empathy, it should certainly be sympathy. My biggest peeve with doctors in the past has been them primarily being very short with their time and attention to my needs and medical concerns. I don't like to be treated like cattle, and certainly not like I am a dime a dozen. I don't get that treatment at all with this practice. You get that feeling of trust and peace of mind when you see Dr. Grant. An extra shout out go to the other office staff that work at the Community Southside Pavillon - from the nurses to the front office reception staff. They are all super friendly and welcoming. It's not an act. They are professional, and they are for real (genuine). A big bonus that this practice offers is that they are open on Saturdays until noon. It's always nice to have that option available.
