I'll be frank and admit because they called themselves a Christian center, I went there hoping to get some relief with some nice people. My experience was meh. I won't go into too much detail with costs, but if you don't have insurance, you're just screwed out of a good part of your paycheck. It costs way too much for just a consultation over a cold. The receptionist was short and acted like I had interrupted her day, and the doctor, while nice enough, made me feel pretty stupid when she diagnosed me with a common cold and asked, "Are you sure you feel bad?" Snarl. Boo. Hiss.

I work for a company that calls for medical records for our clients and in the past everyone I had spoken to from Christian Family Medical seemed very polite and genuinely helpful, so I assumed that they would be just as helpful with their actual paying patients. However, upon my return in February 2013 I made an appointment and was seen by the nice receptionist who, after looking at my file, informed me that my insurance wouldn't cover a wellness checkup within the same year period. I thanked her for letting me know and we rescheduled. Subsequently, I switched insurance companies and cancelled my appointment. I have since been billed for that "appointment", with a charge for a diagnosis that I have never been given. I called the office to try to inform them of the mistake, as I never even saw Dr. Petway, or even went to the back for that appointment. I was told that I would receive a call back and have not. Then my prior insurance company sent me a bill saying that I was diagnosed with Allergies due to Pollen by Dr. Petway. I have never had allergies in my entire life. When I called again to try to clear up the issue I was rudely interrupted and then hung up on. I have been waiting a call back, but as of yet have not received one. I worry that this is going to turn into some sort of fraud issue. By claiming to diagnose me with "allergies" I can't see how I can prove to them that I was not seen as there is no prescription that she would have had to write me. But the fact remains that I was never seen this year by Dr. Petway or any of her nurses so I do not feel that I should have to pay such an exorbitant amount. I am truly disappointed that this mistake has not been corrected and that the staff has been so rude in dealing with this issue. I understand that they are most likely overworked and have a lot of walk-in appointments to deal with but that is no excuse for such poor handling and potential fraud. I am actively seeking a new primary care physician and felt strongly enough about this issue to write a review.

Dr Greer treated by 'trunks' and the NP then treated my branches. The branches turned from blue veins to brown veins after treatment. When asked about this a few weeks later she said 'o it will go away....this happened to me and it went away' but it may take a year. I went back 3 months later for additional follow up and then she said 'well it may take 18 months and it may me permanent'. So I went to a get a second opinion from another vein doctor and he has not told me the' staining' is pretty permanent and that it will fade with time but not completely because as he put it 'this is pretty impressive staining'. He then explained two things 1.) Those particular veins she injected are too large to inject and they should have been removed instead of injected. 2.) Since she chose to inject them she should have seen you a month later and drained whatever leftover stagnant blood to prevent the hemosiderin staining. When I went to see her a few weeks later she should have referred me at that point and she didnt and she kept telling me to wait and now it's too late. A lot of clinics will inject those veins but if they see any sign of trapped blood she should have drained it and now I have permanent brown veins down my whole leg and will have to get a consult for lasers that will cost me thousands. Please do your research and ask good questions. My quality of life is greatly impacted. I live in a hot state and do not feel comfortable wearing shorts or a swimsuit and Im only in my 30s.

I was very visibly nervous and shaking, and they were friendly and chatty to keep me distracted. The last thing I remember before the sedation knocked me out was having a warm blanket fresh out of a dryer placed on me. He called me personally at the end of the day after my surgery to check in on how I was doing. I surprisingly had no pain from the surgery I did (tooth extraction and bone graft), so he does an excellent job. I was terrified for the procedure, but after how well I was taken care of at his office, I'm no longer nervous for the follow-up procedure of getting a dental implant put in. Note: The other review said their consultation was $300. Mine was $100. Not sure if it varies depending on the procedure. The cost of everything is more than I thought it would be, but there's some things you just don't cheap out on. I looked at reviews of some "discount" implant places in the area and some people had the wrong tooth pulled out!!!

After hearing from my dentist and ortho that Dr. Werther is one of the best in his field, I decided to give him a go. I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early, my appointment got started 30 minutes late. At this point in time they had already collected my fee so I guess urgency wasn't an issue. For me this is a huge pet peeve. I don't understand why doctors assume their time is any more valuable than mine. Well, at $300 per hour (assuming a sixty minute consult), I guess his time IS more valuable. But whatever, that's besides the point. All that said, Dr. Werther is awesome. He was very thorough, provided plenty of information and education and did a rather thorough exam of my jaw. He has his own technique for jaw surgeries where there are no external incisions (no external scars) and he often performs two surgeries a year apart vs. one surgery. He said that this allows the bone to grow and heal before subjecting it to round two, though he will tell you the specifics. For me it sounds like the next step is an MRI and then a second consult so the price of it all is my only concern since all consults are $300 even if you have insurance. While he's worth it, I do wish care was more affordable. Back to Dr. Werther, my favorite thing about him is that he's made mistakes and he recognizes and embraces them as learning opportunities. That gives me a ton of confidence in his ability, and in his character. As for the rest, TBD.

He has referred me to specialists as needed, but has always stayed on top of the treatments they prescribed. He listens for the 'nonmedical' events as well. I was due for my annual check up with him and have been rerouted to another doctor. I am told he took a teaching position at Centennial Hospital. I have been unable to locate him at Centennial; he is not on their list yet, so I am cancelling the 'well check up appointment" for a few weeks in hopes of tracking him down.
