I visited the clinic yesterday suffering from aches and pains and fatigue. Adam Smith the nurse practioner that saw me was amazing. He wasn't quite sure what was going no so he ran a variety of tests to determine the illness. One of his strengths is his ability to look beyond the symptons and get to the root cause. He is experienced, professional and very focused on patient care. I hope the next time I visit the clinic I get someone of his caliber and caring. read more

Brought my stepdaughter in to have her finger x-rayed for a possible break. The waiting room was nearly empty and they took her back right away. After more than two hours in the waiting room and watching 10-12 other patients come in, get treated, and leave, I decided to make use of the downtime and write a yelp review. I have been sitting alone in the waiting room now for the last twenty minutes, and it appears that everyone that works here has gone to lunch. This used to be a good walk on clinic, but it seems they have let things slip a bit. There are better options available for sure. read more

Very rude dark haired receptionist with glasses basically yelled at me that they were too busy to see my sick daughter. She was not helpful at all and did not explain anything. Worst Walk-in Clinic EVER!! I went in to get a simple lab draw. A friendly receptionist took all my information for check-in and told me to take a seat. When I arrived (around 2:30 PM), there were only two other patients. After about 30 minutes they called one patient back and finally after almost an hour they called the patient before me'. In the meantime, approximately 7 other patients had signed in, and I'm still waiting! When they started calling those patients before me (and it was well over an hour and a half), I went to the desk to ask what the issue was and why other people (who had come after me) were being called to the lab before me! The receptionist couldn't find where I had registered, then went to ask the lab tech, who had no clue as to my lab work request and she finally came back to inform me that they were behind and I would be called in about 30-40 minutes! I asked her again, why the people who had come in after me were being called before me for labs and no response! I simply told the receptionist to CANCEL my appointment and that I would go elsewhere! This is the worst lab I have EVER gone to! Total time wasted was well over 2 hrs and I never got my labs done that day! Ended up going to another location where everything was a breeze! read more

The staff at the walk-in clinic in Franklin were great. This review is about Vanderbilt administration and policy. My husband tested positive for Covid on Monday. He was told due to his age and a heart condition that he'd hear shortly from someone in administration about a referral for treatment/therapies to help him with recovery. Three days later, someone from Vanderbilt calls to tell him they ARE TOO BUSY TO WRITE A REFERRAL! Shortly thereafter, he received a call from health department regarding contact tracing. Seems Vanderbilt wasn't too busy to work with the health department, but too busy to work with a patient for needed therapies! They also refused to tell him which variant of Covid he has- said they would tell his PCP but refused their request as well. Although we like their walk-in clinic, we will avoid Vanderbilt in the future. read more

Vanderbilt as a whole is a very good group of doctors and nurses. However, when you visit this walk in clinic be sure and pay close attention to who you are being seen by. In the few times I've gone there they like to substitute Nurse Practitioners but charge you the same level that an MD visit would charge. You still will receive good care since being seen by an NP is in no way a bad thing, and usually you can get in and out of there much quicker. Just watch your bill especially if you are on an HSA. read more

I went to this clinic for a stiff neck. The staff was competent, helpful, and the wait was reasonable. However when I was treated, I simply told the provider what treatment I had received in the past (a steroid shot), which they did and that was it. Then I was billed close to $400 for the office visit. When I called to ask for an adjustment, I said I would gladly pay for the shot and the visit, but could not understand why the office visit was so expensive. I was told it was billed as a specialty clinic, and my adjustment was denied. With my same insurance, I pay less for visits to legitimate specialists. Additionally, at other walk-in clinics, I have paid less than $150 for the exact same treatment. We went because we love our Vanderbilt doctors and have enjoyed our other experiences with Vandy. I will never go back to this clinic again and neither will anyone else in my family. read more

Just echoing what everyone else has said this is a great clinic. I was in and out within an hour on a Sunday morning and even got a chest x-ray done on site. I drove 40 minutes to get there and it was well worth my time. The staff were friendly and the doctor was amazing. read more

TOTAL RIP OFF! I've never seen anyone charge so much for so little. I went in with a sinus infection. They gave me an antibiotic. The PA said if it doesn't work to come back in a week. Which I did because it did nothing for me. Then I had a DIFFERENT PA who said she was going to give me a steroid because she didn't know why the last one gave me that particular antibiotic. And if that didn't work let them know. After 5 days it was doing nothing for me so I went back again. Now sick for several weeks. The NEXT NEW PA that treated me was rude and disrespectful and would not give me anything else. She commented as to why the last person gave me a steroid and it didn't make sense to her. I asked her if they all went to the same school because they were bad mouthing the last person. She gave me something for my cough. Which did nothing. 4 more days later and miserable, my local pharmacy suggested a local walk-in clinic North Franklin Internal Medicine & Pediatrics on Del Rio Pike. I went and the PA told me they were giving me the wrong thing for the sinus infection and gave me the correct antibiotic. I was better in 3 days!!!! THEN I get 3 $220 bills from Vanderbilt Medical. They want me to pay $660!!!!!!!! North Franklin Internal Medicine & Pediatrics bill was $75!!!!!! I would die in the street before I would ever walk into a Vanderbilt Urgent Care again. What's there to say? My wife is very sick and called nearly 30 minutes before closing and spoke to a very rude receptionist who dared her to get there before they lock the door. Can't judge their medical service but having encountered their phone etiquette would never step foot through the front door. My wife had been coughing for a week or so but I could not convince her to go to see her doctor. Finally, she woke up on Sunday morning feeling (and candidly looking) horrible. I called one of our friends who works at Vanderbilt Walk In Clinic and he told us to come right down. The longest part of the visit was the car ride! We arrived and checked in and were taken back to an examination room within minutes. We didnt wait long before a nurse came in and took her vitals, all the while chatting and making her feel at ease. She had hardly been gone a few minutes when the doctor arrived in the room. He also had a warm and comforting bedside manner. Equally important to us, he shared information with us that made us feel as though we were being treated as the educated health consumers we like to believe we are. A quick chest x-ray later revealed that my wife had a pretty severe case of pneumonia, although one that did not require hospitalization. A shot of antibiotic, a prescription for more, and a discussion on what to do and what not to do and we were on our way. While it is a long hike from Hendersonville, for medical care this efficient, professional and friendly, we may well make the drive again. read more

Never have I been more unsatisfied with a clinic before. I never write reviews on places but this needed to be said. My husband was very sick for 2 days so we took him to the Cool Springs location early Sunday morning. They gave him a strep test, flu test, throat culture and took blood work. We went home with no results. Monday he was feeling progressively worse, so I took him back. They did a mono test and more blood work. Here it is now Friday (5 days after the first visit)and NO CALL BACK with results.... Luckily I took him to another local walk in clinic and we had an answer of what was wrong within an hour and he is on medicine. As far as Vanderbilt Walk-In Clinic is concerned they are still trying to find out what is wrong... and we are still waiting for a call... read more

Just received a $225 bill for my daughter to have her vitals taken. She had a fall at home and I wanted to double check she was okay. Didn't expect a $225 bill from a walk-in clinic. I've never been seen so quickly at a Walk In clinic before than I was at this location. Combine that with the attentiveness and kindness of the staff and the Doctor, a sick visit becomes slightly less "painful." Highly recommend for those times of immediate need! :) read more

I had a good experience today. The only down side was the wait time, but hey, I was able to get lots of last-minute Christmas shopping done on my smartphone! The nurse was EXTREMELY nice, the PA was very nice, they didn't try to run a bunch of unnecessary tests or anything, which was nice since i'm a cash patient. My family uses this clinic on a regular basis. We have a Vanderbilt doctor but there are times when you need same day care and cannot get in with PCP. The staff is always nice and helpful. First of all, I want to say that I've never written a review about an experience I've had. I understand that I'll experience the best or worst of any establishment at a particular time and I just roll with it. But my time at Vanderbilt Walk-In Clinic was so exceptional that I had to comment. I've developed a tendency toward anxiety attacks and was in midst of an 18-hr anxiety episode. I had gone to the Vanderbilt ER the night before and was basically dismissed, so I decided to get a doctor's opinion about my anxiety. From the second I walked in, I felt instantly welcomed. The nice lady at the desk, Megan, was so incredibly nice and helped to calm my nerves. Within ten minutes I was in a doctor's office. My nurse practitioner listened to me and understood my concerns and did his best to accommodate. He made sure that I got the lab work that would make me feel better. It was a bit of a drive for me, but definitely worth it. And I will certainly make the trip again for this kind of experience. read more

Horrible experience, my father went there due to having a sore on his arm. They gave him antibiotics and later called him and said he had a staff infection. Everything cleared up, but then his arm started to hurt again up to his shoulder. They refused to refill the antibiotics, but said we were welcome to come in and pay for another visit to be reevaluated, or in their words pay for "good health". A staff infection is very serious and you would think they WOULD know that, But it seems that the money for another visit is more important than their patients health. We are talking about a refill on antibiotics! PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS MONEY HUNGRY PLACE THAT COULD CARE LESS ABOUT A PATIENTS HEALTH! The wait time was extremely long and I have severe insomnia with back pain and haven't slept in days and they wouldn't give me anything just to get me through to see the specialist on the 26th. The muscle pain is so bad that I can't even turn all the way around but got a muscle relaxer that isn't doing anything and I won't be able to sleep. Beware if you are a new patient! I was charged $388 for a ten minute visit to see a nurse practitioner. I went into the Cool Springs location due to a severe skin reaction to insect bites. I was seen for about 10 minutes or less and was prescribed a cortisone prescription ointment. When I received the bill for $388 I called to complain. I was told this was the normal charge for a new patient which is described as anyone who has not been seen at that location in the last 12 months. read more

I am SO grateful for the Vanderbilt Walk In Clinic in Franklin! I woke up at 7:00 one morning in June with piercing pain in my back. I hoped it would pass, but it only got worse. After looking to see what facilities (other than the ER) were open, my husband and I came across the Vanderbilt Walk In Clinic. They welcomed us in as they opened their doors (at 7:30am!) and helped us get checked in. I was in immense pain and feeling nauseous, and they were comforting and reassuring. I was taken into an exam room within 15 minutes of arriving, and the nurses and doctors were very professional and helpful. They ran tests and addressed the pain and nausea. Upon the likely diagnosis of a kidney stone, they referred me to get imaging done nearby, and we were sent directly there. I was very impressed by the speed of service, the professionalism of the staff, and the thoroughness of the doctor and nurses. So grateful for their help! read more

However, they charged a ridiculous $413 for an office visit. The discount from Anthem only lowered its to $281, which is ridiculous for a basic office visit that is $80 when I use children's clinic during weekdays. read more

WARNING!!! They bill your insurance company as a "SPECIALIST" and you will not even see a doctor, you will get a nurse practitioner. Insurance fraud at it's best. This is my second issue with this place in less than a year. Prior to this my son went there for what the nurse practitioner diagnosed as impetigo. Guess what, that diagnosis was WRONG!!! We went to our pediatrician and found out he had a staph infection and the Walk In treated him completely incorrect. I will not be back to this walk in clinic EVER! read more

The car door slammed the finger of a senior patient. It turned blue with excruciating pain. Around 4:20 pm on Sunday. Phoned clinic before we left. They close at 5:00. We were about 20-25 minutes away. I asked if we were there before 5:00 would they let us in. An unwelcoming voice said yes. We were there before 5:00. Door was locked. Walked around the clinic to find careless employees saying they closed the door at 5:00 pm which was wrong. Asked to talk to the doctor. an empty female person appeared with no compassion what so ever and said she would not see my mother. When i requested we would be seen she said she was going to call the police! I explained I drove 17 miles and was there before 5:00 but they would not let us in. With a patient who needed to be inspected, they know nothing about the duty of their profession nor do they deserve their title to care for people. Despicable. read more

Here you go! I would recommend people to think twice before going here. I went to this walk in clinic today. Very first thing is, nobody told me I was going to see a nurse practitioner. In fact, I didn't even know that I saw a nurse practitioner until I search online after coming home. Name - Gordon Melton. I am not going to this walk in clinic again. Here is what happened. I told him I am having shivering, fever and stomache for 5 days. I am not able to digest my food. I am having lot of burp. Plus I have a family history of gall bladder stone. My mom and two sisters had gall bladder removed. In fact, one of my sister who is a doctor showed exactly the same symptoms as I am and I would request an ultra sound. He said no need. Told me that my sister had a pain. I said yes, and told him that immediately after that she had to go to emergency and I am trying to avoid that situation proactively. It could be life threatning if gall bladder bursts and stones come out. I told him I have two small kids too. He said, if that situation comes ( which means I have to let my gall bladder burst, in case, i have stone and threaten my life) d then ultrasound will happen. I am originally from India. The way this guy behaved gave me a feeling that he behaved that way because I am originally from India and he already had some predefined notion in his mind. Plus he gave me a feeling as if my life is not valuable at all in his opinion (even though I told him that I have two kids). Wow, seems like this guy didn't had enough knowledge and is not skilled enough. Because somebody who has good at what he does would not behave in such an arrogant/rude way or wouldn't try to show off that he is a doctor and is in charge even though this guy isn't a doctor. I have expressed him that I have had stomach virus before and this is absolutely different. He definitely is not skilled and not interested in what he is doing. He should do something else that he can enjoy. I have never had this kind of conversation with any physician before and that explains it because he is not a physician and was trying to act like one. My problem could also be liver or kidney stone but don't know what. I told him that I am unable to sleep at night, but he couldn't understand what I am saying and apparently wasn't very important to him, so he refused for an ultra sound.
