We appreciate families who have been part of The Little Farm Preschool community and continue to support the program. The 5 star rating reflects our years of ownership and the program we built and operated through January 2025. For clarity, The Little Farm Preschool was owned and operated by us from 2016 until its recent sale in January 2025. During that time, we built a strong, nurturing program with a dedicated staff and were proud to receive consistently positive feedback from families, reflected in many five-star reviews across both Yelp and Google. The decision to sell was made due to unexpected health circumstances. While the timing of the transition was difficult, it was handled in accordance with the terms of the sale and with the goal of minimizing disruption for enrolled families. We are posting this in response to a recent review dated January 22, 2026, which includes multiple references to our prior ownership and operations. We do need to respectfully clarify that several statements in that review regarding prior operations, communication, safety practices, and program structure are not accurate and do not reflect how the preschool was run during our ownership. Our staff was informed of the transition and, as always, was incredibly supportive during a difficult time. We were fortunate to have a team of dedicated teachers who consistently prioritized the well-being of the children. Any implication that safety measures were lacking is incorrect. Throughout our years of operation, we maintained comprehensive safety protocols, including fire drills, emergency preparedness procedures, documented emergency contacts, allergy tracking, and strict pickup and identification policies. Staff regularly reviewed these procedures, and the safety and well-being of the children and families we served was always our highest priority. Communication with families was a foundational part of our program. We utilized the Brightwheel platform for daily updates, photos, messaging, authorized pickup information, and student records, and maintained consistent, open communication with parents. We also supported children's development through developmentally appropriate assessments and ongoing observation aligned with kindergarten readiness standards, along with regular parent-teacher conferences. The Little Farm Preschool was intentionally designed as a discovery-based program, where children learn through hands-on exploration, creativity, and play. We emphasized meeting each child where they were developmentally--academically, socially, and emotionally--and believed strongly that confidence, independence, and social-emotional well-being are essential foundations for long-term success in school. Celebrations and community were also an important part of our program. Birthdays, holidays, and daily classroom experiences were intentionally designed to create meaningful, joyful moments for the children and to build a strong sense of belonging. At the same time, the review referenced above appears to focus more on comparisons to prior ownership than on describing a current family experience, which is not typical of a standard parent review. Our intent in posting is simply to ensure that our years of ownership is represented accurately. We are so thankful for our experience with the Little Farm Preschool in Maple Valley, it has truly exceeded our expectations. We have two children at the preschool; our oldest has attended for two years and our youngest has attended for one (and is already enrolled for next year!). When first looking for a preschool, we were interested in an environment that fostered our daughters' creativity and curiosity through play. It was important to us to find an educational environment that shared our passion for learning through inquiry and one that offered our children the freedom to explore and be the curious kids that they are! We weren't interested in rote memorization or bringing home homework. The school has helped make our girls more empathetic, thoughtful, and independent learners. Our daughters have built meaningful relationships with their classmates and teachers. Before attending the Little Farm Preschool, our daughters hadn't attended any kind of childcare, so we appreciated how much interactivity with other students the school provided. The play-based curriculum gave our daughters ample opportunities to share, problem-solve, and collaborate with others. We've seen such a blossoming of our daughters' social skills and confidence as a result of their experience at the Little Farm. The staff is kind and accommodating. We really appreciate their frequent usage of the Brightwheel app which helps to keep Mom and Dad up-to-date on the activities at school, especially when we can't get any details out of our girls on our own! This preschool is awesome! It is clear that Margo and Chrissy love what they do. They have been wonderful for our daughter, Rae. She loves her school, her new little friends, and her teachers. I signed my daughter up early, being impressed with the vision Margo and Chrissy had. They have a well thought out plan on how to integrate their curriculum to include inquiry, art, literacy, and math. Once school got started, I was even more impressed with their parent/family communication. They send pictures with descriptions of what the kids did at school that day, which is great because it helps me talk to my preschooler about her day and being a working mom, it helps me feel filled in. They provide families with suggestions on what they can try with their students at home to help reinforce ideas that are taught in school. When I do get a chance to drop my daughter off and pick her up, I am impressed with Margo and Chrissy's enthusiasm for what they do; they meet families outside, tell highlights of the day...you see that they truly enjoy each of the kids and appreciate their unique personalities. In addition to all of this, I love that my daughter gets the chance to be learning outdoors and gets to help with the animals - feeding the kitties is quite the treat to her. read more

This school is fantastic! We were sold on the balance of outdoor/indoor play & discovery. And I quote "kids need to explore and be kids just as much as they need academic curriculum and structure". Since starting 6 months ago (at barely 3 years old) My daughter has shown tremendous interest in learning. She has fallen in love with reading. Understanding her ABCs & numbers (and her newest interest: how to write them)! Her speech has improved night from day as has her overall comprehension of the world around her. Despite the hard facts, my favorite aspect of this pre school is that the instructors recognize each student as an individual. Individuals that have different needs and wants. They treat and care for each student as if they were their own and I have complete peace of mind when my daughter is there. I should add that this is BIG for me personally...as a natural worrier & after school kids business owner myself, my expectations were unreasonably high, and yet... they've surpassed them. This is such a great school! On cost: sure it's maybe a little pricer then the next, but ultimately you get what you pay for (as with all things). Plain and simple. My daughter could not be more excited to start her preschool years at The Little Farm Preschool. We stumbled upon this place early in it's inception, and have been blown away by their progress and dedication to making it's first year a truly memorable and enriching experience for the kids lucky enough to attend. Meeting Margo and Christina has only amplified that confidence, and I can't imagine anyone having any apprehension getting in on the ground floor of this wonderful preschool. The grounds are beautiful and appropriately equipped to provide hours and hours of educational fun for it's students. And the classroom building should also work well for those days where outdoor fun is not an option. From just about every angle this place seems to be bursting with potential. So for anyone looking to give their child an alternative to the sterile cookie cutter ways of a place like Kindercare, I'd highly recommend checking out The Little Farm Preschool. My son is just finishing his third year with The Little Farm and I cannot say enough good things about this place. We love the play based learning and how each child is encouraged to learn and grow in a way that works best for their individual learning style. They reinforce creativity, and for children to discover learning at their own pace. They take all parts of the child into consideration when teaching social and academic skills. My wild boy needs time to explore and play outside just as much as he needs time inside to work his brain, and The Little Farm makes a priority of it all! I am so happy that my two younger boys will be coming through this school as well. We feel so grateful for our teachers and the time and effort they put into these kids, it truly shows. We just love the little farm! We have had my son at the little farm for 2 years, and just adore it. The teachers are amazing, my son gets to play and be a boy, and he gets a great education. Miss Margo and Miss Chrissy (a mother daughter team) have been a huge part of his life, and work hard to help him improve where needs to, and he is also able to thrive where he is strongest. The school is on a few acres of property, so the kids have plenty of room to play, run and explore, with lots of grass, an orchard, sand boxes, and the most exciting part is they have 2 mini horses. Although we will miss the little farm terribly next year, we know we will always have a special bond with this family. read more

My daughter absolutely LOVES this school, and is so excited to be there and learn each day! The teachers have all been so wonderful, and their passion for teaching is undeniable! As a first time mom, I was very nervous dropping my daughter off in an unfamiliar environment, but they made the transition so easy for both of us. They send the parents pictures every day, keep us updated on their daily activities, and it's so comforting to see how much fun our little ones are having there throughout the day! This school is really something special. The location is beautiful and very well-maintained. The classroom is clean, cheerful and full of a neat variety of engaging activities and books. Most importantly, the teachers are absolutely wonderful. Our daughter loves her time with each of them and learns so much from the daily activities both indoors and outdoors. She especially loves all the outdoor time and helping to take care of the ponies. Margo and Chrissy really work to make sure each child is understood and has their specific needs met. My daughter thoroughly enjoys "her" preschool. She has been enrolled here at The Little Farm for the past two years, and we couldn't recommend it more! The Little Farm Preschool has been the best experience for our daughter. She's finishing up her second year, and her development has been tremendous. When we first started, she was really shy and timid, and now she's opened up so much. We owe a majority of that growth to this amazing school. I can not say enough great thing about this amazing Preschool. From the amazing teachers who give it their everything to each child. We really enjoyed having our son be apart of this preschool. The teachers show so much caring and support of our child. He's always has a smile on his face after school. And he always looks forward to everyday he gets to go. I was surprised how confident he became with all the things he learned. He especially made some great friends. I am so thankful that we found this amazing preschool! My daughter is just finishing her first year and absolutely loves going to school each day. She has learned so much academically, socially, and physically. The teachers at the Little Farm are thoughtful, caring, and really tailor learning to your child's needs. Our son is about to graduate from The Little Farm preschool and we are so glad he had this experience. He's made great friends, gained so much confidence, and truley loves his teachers. This is my oldest sons second year at Little Farm and we absolutely love it. My middle son is already registered for next year. The teachers are caring, engaging and intuitive. Every time I drive up the driveway to school, I'm reminded how amazing the location is. I wish I could attend Little Farm! My oldest son loves to build and they have helped facilitate his interests as well as introduce him to new skills. We will be attending Little Farm as long as possible. read more

This preschool has been a wonderful experience for our four year old, and us! He has learned so much about friendships, sharing and working with others along with pre K skills. He is constantly signing new songs he has learned and telling us about his many adventures at the Farm. My daughter absolutely loves this preschool. Every day after picking her up she makes sure there is school the next day. If there is no school she gets sad. The teachers are great and are very informative with regards to what goes on during class. There is 5 acres for the kids to explore when they aren't doing class instruction. I would recommend this preschool to anyone looking to enroll their toddler, as I have already to parents at the gym I attend. read more
