I am particularly impressed with how the caregivers and teachers take a genuine interest in the progress and lives of each of the children in their class. Whenever I've had questions, the Orchards Director has been easy to reach and prompt in her responses. The classrooms have been recently renovated and are kept clean. There is a good variety of age appropriate and safe toys in all of the classrooms. Security is well maintained with video monitoring, keypad access to facilities and fenced outdoor play areas. I love the phone application that they use for the secure check in and out procedure, as well as the photo updates throughout the day. Their Junior Kindergarten class is quite robust in its educational curriculum. The lead Junior Kindergarten teacher has been teaching young students for over 20 years, I believe. I'm honestly impressed at the progress my four year old has made behaviorally and educationally. They also have done a great job at offering events throughout the year. Kids Christmas program, picture days, Easter egg hunts, "pumpkin patch" etc. I couldn't recommend the Orchards more.

When I called the main customer service number, I spoke with a very kind representative who assured me that the district manager would contact me to discuss my concerns. Unfortunately, I never received that callback. I also spoke with the school manager directly. In my experience, the conversation was dismissive rather than productive. I explained that the prolonged, high-pitched screaming from a few children echoes throughout the surrounding apartment community and has become a daily disruption for nearby residents. I was told that the children are allowed to scream as a form of self-expression. While I understand the importance of allowing children to express themselves, I believe there should also be reasonable consideration for the people who live nearby and are affected by the constant noise. I work from home several days each week, and the screaming is loud enough to be heard clearly inside my apartment, even with the windows closed. This has become a recurring quality-of-life issue. If this continues without any effort to address it, I will have no choice but to contact the local police non-emergency line to request a welfare check whenever I hear prolonged screaming that reasonably causes concern. When children are screaming continuously at such an extreme volume, it can be difficult for nearby residents to distinguish normal play from a child who may genuinely need help. I sincerely hope the daycare will work with the surrounding community so that this situation can be resolved without further escalation.

During one 2 week span, there were multiple outbreaks including RSV, rotavirus, chickenpox, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and pinworms. While illnesses can happen in any daycare setting, repeated spread of infections that commonly move through close contact and poor hygiene raised concerns for us. Toys and surfaces often felt sticky and did not appear to be cleaned properly. When concerns were raised, the director was dismissive rather than addressing them. Communication with staff was also difficult due to a language barrier, which made it harder to discuss concerns about care and hygiene.

Our time has come to an end here at this beautiful and caring preschool. She wakes up everyday ready for school because here their philosophy is learning through play. Kids at this age needs that and to be grounded to nature and the outdoors. During the "school year" they do seat work and she has learned to write the alphabet in upper and lower case, count to 100+, and even phonetically sound out words to help her start reading. During "camp weeks" they have themed programs that make the weeks exciting like horsemanship week, or kids in the kitchen, or life on the farm. The children have the opportunity to play and learn outside, gardening, taking care of animals, and learning real-life skills through play. My oldest daughter had a speech delay which made her behavior - challenging. This didn't intimidate Alexandra though, who immediately began looking into ways she could continue to support my daughter while in her care. When that same daughter left for kindergarten, she was ahead of her peers academically - being able to write her entire alphabet and knowing all the letters and sounds they made. My youngest daughter is still in her care and, when I gave Alexandra feedback about some ways she could better support kids who were going into kindergarten, she listened to the feedback and made thoughtful changes to the curriculum that that future children will be even better prepared. However, she doesn't just take feedback from me. I know that other parents are able to express any concerns they have and Alexandra listens and implements any changes as necessary. She loves the kids in her care and always has their best interests in mind. I must note, while Alexandra is absolutely amazing - she cannot do it alone. But that's not a cause for concern! When she recently expanded her daycare, she was very thoughtful about the staff she brought in. Eunice, Amanda and Davika, her assistants, are also phenomenal. In fact, thanks to them, I think her expansion went off without a hitch and she successfully expanded her center! TL:DR Depending on the teacher that you have your experience can vary by a lot. If management can do a better job with keeping the staff less stressed/happy I don't think we would hesitate with coming back.
