The Little Griddle Kitchen is a very home-y diner that serves all day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and salads. It's a smaller, eclectic restaurant within an industrial part of Newmarket with loads of character and amazing service. The staff there were friendly and went the extra mile to make sure that we were taken care of. I ordered two of their signature dishes: "Chili Mayo Chicken Crunch" - Crunchy chicken, sweet chili mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on a crispy ciabatta "Twisted Wally" - Crispy chicken, pecans, apples, craisins, blue cheese and romaine lettuce with a honey mustard dressing Both were fresh, tasty and brought a unique mix of ingredients and flavours. The "Chili Mayo Chicken Crunch had a great tangy-chili sauce that was thai-inspired and creamy paired with the crispy battered chicken along with the green. The "Twisted Wally" was a nice classic crispy chicken wrap mixed with apple slices, walnuts, raisins and a punch of blue cheese that added some needed oomph every bite. All meals coming with a side of fries or salad. I'd definitely would be coming back again and looking forward to trying their other menu items. Also their daily specials are a nice pick me up for lunch!

This place was so cute and tiny at first I drove right past it! My friend and I were planning brunch at a restaurant that we realized was closed and this was just a few minutes away and we were not disappointed at all! Loved the cafe vibe of this place and the interior was so cute. The servers were super nice and friendly and made sure to check in on us plenty. I got the vegetarian version of Lenny Benny with the delicious hollandaisy sauce! The server offered to substitute the meat with some other vegetables (I chose mushrooms) and it was so creamy, cheesy and just....*chefs kiss.* Will definitely be going back :)

Scratch made Hollandaise? I'm an idiot. I've driven past the Lazy Daisy for years, thinking it was just a lunch place serving the industrial area. So Saturday morning, I'm on my way to pick up a McMuffin and see the "Open" sign. On Saturday? Best I investigate. It's quaint, tiny, clean and welcoming. My server was extremely helpful. I perused the menu and enjoyed the classic hits playing in the background. Then I spotted three variants of Eggs Benedict on the second page. My obvious question to the server was "scratch made Hollandaise or Sears powdered mix?" I asked 3 times and was convinced that it was real, not industrial. So I ordered the Classic Eggs Benny with home fries (on the flattop, not deep fried). The eggs were perfect, the back bacon was tender, and the Hollandaise was silky. But the potatoes! Perfectly seasoned. Normally I leave most of the potatoes behind, but this time I ate half and took the rest to go! I never do that!! Let me be clear: this is not the standard industrial area lunch place serving the "Banquet Burger". Several of the creative menu choices have avocado, and you can even order a half avocado as a side substitute for a couple bucks. I will be coming here frequently to sample the rest of the menu. All of it.

Amazing good. Highly recommend. Best breakfast I've ever had. The owners are really nice. The potatoes were the best thing I've ever tasted. So good. We got an omelette, pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes and grilled tomatoes. Everything tasted sooo good!! 10/10

The herbs came in the soup already. Green tea matcha crepe with Nutella was decent; it was neither warm nor crispy so it didn't seem fresh. The matcha was in the crepe not on it - it was green on one side & brown on the other. The Nutella was adequate.

It's got something in it that a bunch of others do not, but make sure you tell them ahead of time if you don't want bean sprouts. I usually like to get Pho with grilled chicken in it, but they do charge you a bit extra for the grilled chicken part. Their rare beef is as good as anywhere else, but the soup is what you're getting it for. Their bowls are a little smaller for the price they ask for though. Their desserts that I've had and heard have been good, but again, expensive for what they are. Their menu is quite large, as they also offer bar food and some other desserts. Their fries / poutine's pretty good. It's a pretty small place, but I've never seen a line there. Service is good, though sometimes it takes a bit to flag someone down. They had a karaoke night last time we went, which is kind of annoying if you're only there for the meal like we were. Still, you could do worse for a bowl of Pho, some bar food or dessert. I'm not sure I'd recommend going often because of the price. We've gone a few times with friends because of the large menu, resulting in a good experience.

I was looking for a spot to sit and study on a Friday when I came across Metropolis. The photos…read moreshowcased a beautiful, aesthetic space, and the reviews suggested it was a great place to work thanks to its ample designated laptop seating, plentiful outlets, free Wi-Fi, and lack of time limits. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of free parking behind the café, with direct access to the entrance. Even at 10 a.m. on a Friday, it was busy. The café has clearly designated laptop seating, while other tables are marked as laptop-free zones. I thought this was a fair system as it creates space for everyone, whether you're studying or working like I was, or simply meeting friends for a casual catch-up. I also noticed that groups of three or more are welcome to sit anywhere, which is a nice touch. Between 4 and 6 p.m., laptops are also permitted throughout the café. Thankfully, despite the crowd, my sister and I managed to find two neighboring seats in the laptop section. These areas consist of large communal tables with plenty of outlets. While everyone sits together, people generally keep to themselves, making it a productive environment. That said, the café can get quite loud due to the constant flow of customers, conversations, and the occasional work call. I couldn't resist ordering quite a bit of food to fuel my study session. First was the pesto sandwich (which contains walnuts). It was incredibly flavorful and cheesy, and I was pleasantly surprised by how hot it was served and it even had a satisfying cheese pull. For my drink, I ordered an iced caramel latte. It wasn't quite bold enough for my taste, but it was still enjoyable. I simply prefer a stronger coffee flavor. For dessert, I tried the pistachio cookie. Aside from the centre, which contained plenty of crushed pistachios, I didn't find it particularly pistachio-forward. It tasted more like a chocolate chip cookie with white and milk chocolate pieces. I also sampled some of my sister's order, including the chicken Caesar wrap, which I would absolutely order next time. The iced strawberry matcha, however, was also lacking in flavor. The standout dessert was definitely the cinnamon bun. It was massive, perfectly made, and something I'd recommend over the cookie any day. Oh, and both the sandwich and wrap came with Lay's chips, which turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable pairing. I also want to mention how clean the café was despite the heavy foot traffic. During my several-hour stay, I constantly saw staff wiping down tables, clearing dishes, and tucking chairs back in. The washrooms were also clean, had a good number of stalls, and were well maintained. I especially appreciated that they provided paper towels instead of air dryers. Overall, Metropolis is an excellent place to spend a few hours studying or working. The thoughtful laptop-friendly setup, abundant outlets, free parking, and welcoming atmosphere make it easy to settle in. While a couple of the drinks and desserts fell a bit short on flavor, the sandwiches, wraps, and cinnamon bun more than made up for it. I'd definitely return, both for another productive work session and to grab that chicken Caesar wrap again.
