In an era of iPads and distraction, Lydia's model of socialization and outdoor free-play were monumental in both our children's early development. Our 2 kids loved going to Little Tree so much that they still point it out every-time we pass by and constantly talk about the teachers they loved and the friendships they started. Not only are our kids still best friends with many of their old class mates, my wife and I have become best friends with many of the parents that we met at LT. All of the teachers were sweet. My boys loved the backyard area and their teachers and friends. We enjoyed most of our time there. The price is kinda steep, but remember teachers are responsible for our little ones and deserve livable wages. Sometimes schools fit and sometimes they don't. That's ok. I was able to be a part of the Little Tree community for three wonderful years and it will always have a special place in my heart . The classrooms and yards are created thoughtfully to allow children to explore , create , make friends , build independence and gain confidence. The teachers are warm and loving and the director Lydia has so much care for the well being of the children and love for education that she's constantly promoting and and creating opportunities for everyone to grow and make improvements to the already wonderful program . The outdoor space is truly something special with opportunities to engage in the environment in multiple ways through climbing the wooden structure, running through the hedge maze , and so much more. To parents considering this school or curious readers: Adding to the outnumbering, positive, solid reviews - I have an incredible amount of confidence in this school based on this critical evidence: My son is genuinely and incredibly happy at Little Tree and learning important new things every day. This has been consistent for 2-1/2 years now and not just because of his personality - this was cultivated from the compassion, education, and discipline he receives from Lydia and her carefully selected staff. Many days he runs to his teachers and jumps into their arms for a hug. I see a lot of love and dedication in this group. Being regularly wowed by the things he tells me he's learned, I know we're at the right place. In situations where we were alerted to a discipline issue, I was always informed of the actions taken and not only has it has been consistent with my child's version of the story, but the open discussion with teachers on how to streamline efforts to work on behavior has been invaluable and effective. I've experienced this school to deliver on their promise and commitment to kids and families - from safety to helping cultivate good human beings. Without having to lower our expectations of the standards of care set forth by local and state guidelines - I think we owe it to our children's educators in this unprecedented world-wide epidemic that has drastically changed the daily living/working experience of all - to recognize the incredible challenges that schools have on top of an already demanding profession and responsibility. Let's support the people who chose their career to take care of our children. I'll continue to give this school's educators the benefit of the doubt and the flexibility to do the best they can when a perfect solution is simply unattainable. Little Tree Preschool is the Ivy League of preschools. Lauren B. is obviously not a parent of any children and should not be an early educator. She clearly doesn't know the difference between a restraining chair and a highchair. What she going to do next report all the restaurants in town that have high chairs? Regardless of what outlandish accusations are being made Little Tree, Lydia, and the staff are incredible. My son attended Little Tree from when he was 2 until he started kindergarten. My son is now in middle school and I can thank Little tree for his success in academics. My son has major ADHD and learning differences. Little Tree accepted my son with open arms when most schools would have kicked him out. Little tree helped my family with resources, worked with my son's therapist and most importantly he never felt like he was different than his peers. The teachers always made sure the children understood that each child is unique in their own ways. I'm sure there was times when teachers needed to make call if putting my son in highchair for 5 minutes or allow for him to hurt himself or other child. I much rather have my child in the highchair. I know my son was there years ago and the agreement can be made that I don't know the current staff. However, I do know some of the staff personally and have occasionally kept in contact with Lydia. I can tell you the current teachers there would do anything for the children in their care and love them as their own. As for a high turn over of teachers, I know that a teacher that was there when my son was there returned back to Little Tree after pursuing her education because it is a great environment. Overall, Little Tree has an excellent program. And no one should take advice from someone who doesn't even know what a high chair is. read more

"I think I actually like going to school!" That's what our five year-old son Oliver said after a couple months at Little Tree's outdoor kindergarten program. We were floored as he had never liked going to his previous preschools at all. Lydia (the director at Little Tree) is great at keeping us up-to-date and following strict COVID safety guidelines, and his teachers Ms. Cherie and Ms. Janae adapt their curriculum to each student's strengths. We have seen huge benefits to Oliver's academics, social skills, and confidence thanks to Little Tree. As essential workers we needed a safe place for him to learn and socialize and we are so grateful that we have found it in Little Tree. read more

Overall, overrated. Moved my son classrooms without talking with me. When I asked her to keep him in the same classroom until we could talk she refused. Pays teacher minimum wage thus teachers don't last long. Charges 1200-1600 (if there are 5 weeks in a month) Over priced. Several parents have left due to teacher turn over. Lydia is a know it all and doesn't support the child and/or the parents. Explore other options if you can.Encounter is a fabulous alternative and almost half the price. read more

Goes to show, you are unable of keeping a job for very long. Both of my children are currently at Little Tree and have had the same teachers, whom we love and adore our children. The statements you are making are outrageous and bogus. You are upset about your views that do not match everyone. During this entire pandemic, Lydia and her husband have gone above and beyond for the safety of our students. When the pandemic first hit, they refunded families who did not feel comfortable sending their kids. She updates families daily, there are cameras for families to watch daily, an app for daily curricular activities along with pictures. She follows all county and state requirements. Little Tree is one of the best preschools out there. Please keep your negative comments to yourself as they are not true and only reflect you as a person. This pre school is the best! I was fortunate enough to find little tree after having a terrible experience at "happy ventures" right down the street. The staff at little tree is very kind and compassionate as well as very professional. My son has made leaps and bounds since he started attending. Now that it is time for him to start kindergarten I'm sad to have to see him leave such a wonderful place. I wish they taught kindergarten too! I recommend taking a tour of this place. They allocate the space they have so efficiently and have all the right teachers there to help create an awesome learning and growing environment for any child. read more

Our daughter has been enrolled in Little Tree since she was 2.5. Now that she is almost 4 we are sad this will be her last year as she will go on to Kindergarten. The teachers here are so kind and patient with the kids. Each month there is a monthly calendar detailed down to the day so I know what they will be learning about, which my daughter loves. I am a nervous first time single mom...a.k.a. crazy anxious and overprotective of my daughter. When I toured Little Tree I knew almost immediately it was going to be perfect for our family. I am so impressed by this school and how well it is run and managed. All the teachers and aides know ALL the kids regardless of age/class. Before we found Little Tree Preschool my daughter had been to a couple schools. She struggled and was kicked out of these schools. I knew the perfect school had to be out there somewhere, and then we stumbled upon Little Tree. This place was different. They were willing to work with us. They never gave up on my daughter. Instead, they talked to us (with behavioral issues)and came up with creative ways that worked for HER. She used to cry when she would go to the other schools, but now she asks everyday if she's going to school tomorrow. Each child is important to them. I am so appreciative of Lydia and her staff that I could cry tears of joy. Because when other schools saw her as a problem, this one saw the potential and brought out the best in her. I can't say enough great things about Little Tree. My 2 year old son had just left another preschool due to some bad experiences, and was nervous to attend another school. We have had our sons enrolled at Little Tree for about three years. We have found the teachers to be very caring, consistent, and skilled at dealing with preschoolers. I cant say enough about how great Little Tree had been for our son! He came to us as a foster placement and was difficult to work with to say the least. After being asked to leave another preschool, I made several calls and talked with Lydia. Her extensive experience and education made me feel that Little Tree could handle his behaviors and we enrolled him. After a year, I can say this was still the best choice we could have made. It's not cheap, but you do get what you pay for! We loved how much time our daughter spent playing, especially outdoors, and even in the mud. As teachers, we know that preschoolers need to play much more than sit in seats doing mini-kindergarten. We toured many preschools, and her older sister went to different ones, and this was by far the best experience. Our daughter loved her teachers so much - they even came to her birthday party, which was the biggest thrill for a little kid. Lastly, Little Tree organizes great family events, both during and after the school day...and the owner's husband makes amazing pizza:) read more

I can't say enough great things about Little Tree. Our son was extremely shy and attached to me prior to attending Little Tree. The director and his teacher worked closely with us the first few weeks to get him comfortable with being away from me. The school offers in-home visits and that was a game changer for him. Once he had his teacher in our home and was able to show her his toys and his space, he was able to connect with her in the classroom. His first teacher was amazing with the kids and you could see how much she loved her job. I actually cried when he moved up to the older class. I quickly realized that every teacher at the school had the same dedication and connection to the children. Our son is now in Kindergarten and his teacher has a hard time believing the stories I tell her about how shy and attached he was. Little Tree taught him how to communicate with peers and adults and gave him the confidence to ask for help when needed. He is now a leader in the classroom and easily navigated the transition to elementary school. We are excited to send our second son to this school next year. read more
