We needed some new family room tables and bar stools. We went to a couple places in town before we found this place. The quality is fantastic. We were looking for solid wood and they had several to choose from. The prices were better than the other stores, for better quality. And, the best part, most of their stuff is in stock. What a pleasant surprise! Joe Donovan is a great salesperson and was really interested in what we needed. I was shopping with my mom for recliners and a table & chairs. Joe lead us to the powerlift chairs and was carefully observing how the chair fit my mom. My mom actually took a fall there too & they were so kind and concerned about her. Fortunately she wasn't hurt too badly. When I brought my dad in Joe helped us again & did a great job of showing him the chairs and listened to his concerns. The price of the chairs was a 2 for 1 deal so that was the added bonus. When I called about the delivery their chair was not on the list for the day promised but after a minute on hold that was taken care of. Great customer service! read more

We decided to replace some old, beloved and comfortable furniture with something that looked a little more upbeat and fashionable. The Living Room is just down the street and they had a lovely selection of sofas and chairs. Laura was our sales person and was helpful in finding just the right sofa. Typical me, I step over dollars to save pennies and so I thought I could find a pickup to go get the chair. YIKES. The chair was broken when we got it here and so I had to find another neighbor to carry it back for me! Needless to say, I bought the delivery plan for the sofa and the new chair. I not only got my box spring asap, but they also set me up with someone that could move my mattress. We bought a couch from here and not three months later it started falling apart. We bought the replacement plan and after a headache and having to dig out the receipt to prove we had purchased the plan (their record keeping skills are lacking) they finally agreed not to replace the couch but have someone come repair it. Fine. After the owners son took ownership we went in and noticed the prices have shot up and items on "sale" are more expensive now then they were before the change of ownership. Would probably not buy anything else from here just because of high prices and quality issues. Would give 1 star but the salesman we dealt with when we purchased our couch was friendly and earned an extra star. read more

We purschased a couch that the sales person said was high quality and will not breakdown, within 1 month the cushions and arm rests broke down. It is only me and my husband using it and also have another living room in our basement that we use more often,so the couch was not used much. The store offered to have it fixed by an upholstery company. 2 people came out to arrange to fix it and the store said it would cost too much so they told us to come in and pick out a different couch. We did and paid more for another couch, they knocked off a liitle money but took away all warranty and right to exchage it. When it was delivered the leather was scuffed and had a hole put in it while bringing it into our house,the 2 men who delivered it took full responsibility. The store sent out the same 2 people from the upholstery company to fix it but again it cost the store too much so we were told a man would come and put color over it and fill the hole! We said no that we want it fixed correctly, He than said that England (who made the couch) no longer has the correct color and we have two choices, paint over the damage or get store credit, but it could cost us more money if a new couch was ordered,even though its the same couch. We said we want a refund and will take our business elsewhere and were promptly told they dont do refunds as well as he said "well your husband helped carry it in" which is not the truth! Blaming the customer now!!! Ugggg, we paid over 1000.00 for this couch and now we are stuck! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, POOR QUALITY, HIGH PRICES AND CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! read more

I recently made the big decision to purchase a new bed. The Living Room was the first store we went to because they were having a 'huge' retirement sale. So I looked around and found a bed I thought I couldn't sleep without. Unfortunately the bed that caught my comfort wasn't on sale. But when I asked about paying in cash the sales woman assured me that the price was negotiable. She would even see about paying forty out of the fifty dollars they charge for a mattress protector you must purchase to ensure the warranty is valid. I put a down payment on the bed because I was told it was the last one and I didn't have the finances yet. My receipt for the deposit stated that there was a $1.77 discount applied to the mattress protector that was actually fifty nine dollars; there was also no indicator on my receipt that a discount was given on the bed itself. When my spouse returned a few days later to finish purchasing and bringing the bed safely home he told me he had talked them down forty five dollars(3%) which I was excited about because the bed was quite an investment. When I went to put the bed together I found out that the protector that was so necessary was no where to be found. So I called the store and they said they had forgotten it and I went back to the store to retrieve it. What was really the 'icing on the cake' that summed up this bad experience was when I received calls from the original sales woman within a couple days of having the bed home saying that I owed them the forty five dollars they had taken off of the bed. I stated that my bill showed a zero balance and she argued that there was already a three percent discount on the bed when I put the deposit down on the bed. I told her that my bill stated no discount on the bed just on the mattress protector. After hearing this she became flustered and said ' I don't know what to tel you mam, we cannot deliver the mattress until it is fully payed for.' I then explained to her that I already had the bed because the mattress was fully payed for. She became frustrated with me and put me on hold. After about five minutes on hold their phone hung up. A while later I get a call from another woman at the store making the same argument, and I advocated mine. She tried to convince me to pay my 'balance' over the phone which I refused to do. I am supposed to be getting a bill for what I 'owe'. Who would have thought a three percent discount could cause such a wave of grief in the retail furniture business. In closing I certainly will not be buying anything from this furniture store again. read more

I have bought many items here and have always felt I got good value for my dollar. I'm one of those research types who goes to every furniture store in the area to ensure the best decision. I recently fell in love with a chair and a rug at the Living Room and Kathy, the saleswoman, was low-key and truly helpful. She is personable and knowledgeable and went the extra mile to send me home with samples. She went out of her way to return phone calls and keep me posted on the details of the order and delivery dates. I never felt rushed or 'sold' on any decision. These guys were incredibly helpful with our recent sofa purchase. With a new baby it was important for us to get a couch with no halogenated flame retardant chemicals in the cushions. Even though they weren't aware of the problem to begin with they did some research and found a local vendor to make cushions without the toxic chemicals. worst experience of my life! #1 bought couch #2 couch burned down in the back of the truck at the factory #3 was told they cant do anything until they get an order together that is "worth" their time (customers don't matter) #4 asked for a refund so i didn't get charged interest for a couch that doesn't exist. They tried to refund me a smaller amount arguing that the price i had was wrong. (changed their tune once i showed them photo's of actual price) #5 thought he charged me instead of refunded, but had not #6 spoke with the female manager who was rude, unhelpful and told us they wont be getting more furniture anytime soon after buying a mattress company and they were the priority, not the customers affected from the fire. #7 salesmen sent me a note apologizing for raising his voice and cutting me off every time i tried to speak. He stated the couch was still coming but nobody had a ETA as they are focused on the merger, not he customers. I've now been informed that only the owner of the company, named Morgan, can make the decision to help us out. He is unreachable by phone and doesn't respond to e-mails very often we have been told. I don't believe this to be true as i'm a business man myself and can be reached at all times of the day or night to continue to grow our business. I run a warehouse and have never ever in all my 20+ years experience treated a customer like this. I hope Morgan can one day see how we have been wronged and fix this nonsense. p.s. we sold our old couch days after purchasing a new one knowing our new one would arrive withing weeks......its now been three and a half months. I walked in to browse. Felt harassed and pounced on like a car lot. The salesperson was pushy and then tried to convince me to sit on a couch and consider it when I clearly said it wasn't what I was looking for and I wasn't interested. I felt like I had to argue with him to just convince him of what I was looking for. Then when I found something I liked, he tried to talk me out of it for some reason (maybe because it was on sale?). I asked him to look something up for me and he gave me bad information without even looking it up. I asked him to verify and look it up, he took forever so I finally left my number and and told him to contact me when he found out. He assured me there was no way he was wrong. He later called and said what I wanted was actually available but he didn't apologize for giving me bad information and being adamant he was right without even looking it up. I won't be back there even though they have the piece I want. I was so annoyed with the sales person I will find another store that has the same piece and purchase it from them. read more
