The tables were filthy, every trash can was overflowing and buzzing with flies and wasps. All the condiment caddies were empty or nearly empty. We came here for sea glass picking but there aren't any to pick. So we stopped by this restaurant, really busy here, they mainly do takeouts and there are tons of patio spaces for you to sit. We ordered the whole lobsters, they have 1.25lb, 1.5lb and 2lb to choose from, 2lb all ran out, so we picked 1.5lb. You will see live lobsters in the tank beside the cashier. When I saw this Yelp listing, I immediately discounted it. What a cheesy name. Luckily I stumbled across it along the way and gave it a try. What a pleasant surprise! The BEST place for lobster rolls on the island. Everyone I know who has tried one agrees wholeheartedly. The portion size is great and the lobster is, well, delicious. The lobster roll platter, which costs about $13 (I think), comes with a lobster roll, chips and pickles. I had it for lunch and I was still full when dinner came around... Although the restaurant does not have too many options, what they do offer is delicious. I recommend simply taking a look at the menu beforehand so you know what to expect. In addition, the outdoor seating is accompanied by a breathtaking view of the water, and there is an ice cream shop right next door (because who can say no to ice cream???). If I have one recommendation for those going to PEI, its go to the Lobster Shack as soon as you can and as often as you can :) read more

Found this place through my google searches and it happened to be near the place we were staying in Fortune Bay. However it was closed that day so we had to stop in the next day. This was the first lobster roll that we had on the east coast as it was the beginning of our trip. Large chunks of lobster and there was no other celery or other stuff that was added-just lobster! It was really good - could have had a bit more flavour as some bits seemed a bit bland but the lobster was fresh! Definitely a must try if you are in the area. If you had your own kitchen or a place to eat, get their steamed lobsters as the prices were very reasonable! read more

This is a small shack at the end of a beautiful boardwalk. The restaurant only had outside seating. Freshest seafood as they are also producers of the shellfish that they sell. They won an award for best Lobster roll in PEI. We tried Lobster rolls - very tasty! They are very busy as people come in not only to buy food, but also to stock up on fresh seafood. What a gem! We picked up some lobsters that had already been cooked and brought them home to enjoy. The prices were very reasonable and the lobsters were fresh and delicious. This place is drool worthy! When I am PEI, I never miss a visit or two or ten. The mussels are quite frankly delicious and I don't care that the juice leaves a stain on my shorts or that I do a little dance when I eat them. The lobster rolls are great. Sure, they come with potato chips and a side of pickles which is nothing spectacular but also fantastic. There is so much lobster in this roll. You can go somewhere fancy and eat a lobster and pay a near fortune but you won't have to pay much here, use the little prongs for a little meat or wear a bib (ok- maybe it may be advised for me). You will get the best parts of the lobster and some sensational food. read more

I stopped in here for dinner and ordered the lobster roll and half dozen oysters. The oysters were shucked practically before I paid for my meal and came with more sauces than I knew what to do with. The lobster roll was really tasty with large chunks of meat that wasn't overly dressed. The potato chips and slices of pickle were a nice accompaniment. Lobster roll tasted good but all 5 of us have been sick since then. Severe abdominal cramps and diarrhea ... it's now been 4 days and still not better. We have noticed the cashier girl manipulating the food without washing her hands after she took money from customers, The sink and soap was right there and she didn't use it. That was right in our face so we can only imagine what happens in the back. We will not take a second chance at that place unfortunately. read more

The roll was a bit disappointing from a size perspective as it is a smaller sandwich and it only comes with some potato chips and pickle chips. I would describe it as more of a snack versus a lunch. The sandwich itself was very tasty. I found the lobster roll at Richard's near Brackley Beach was much bigger and comes with French fries and cole slaw. You pay more for this at Richard's but I would pick this over the Lobster Shack. But if you're in the Souris area, then I think it is worth stopping by as it is easily accessible off the highway and is probably the best option in the area. This is without doubt the most overrated spot I visited on PEI Cold Lobster only with no condiments except a soggy roll. Oysters which were obviously days old and the size of a penny with no condiments except a bland sauce. Staff with a big attitude and willing to lecture clients if they dared ask reasonable questions Eg. Why no hot lobster ? i would not consider the prices reasonable because of the lack of quality food. This is a fantastic spot! I had the lobster platter and it was delicious. It is served chilled but it is still great. My husband had the mussels and my dad had the lobster roll. Both were very impressed with their meals. The service was awesome! Very nice and efficient. It overlooks the ocean and is a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. After reading all the fab reviews and being a lobster lover, I thought this would be an awesome place to stop. NOT. They only served a cold whole lobster or a lobster roll. That's your only choice. The view was great and I love eating on a picnic table but cold lobster just doesn't do it.
