This was my second visit to Dalicia -- my first was for dessert (which unfortunately didn't win me…read moreover), and this time my adventure buddy was set on giving their dinner menu a try. Menu unseen, expectations unclear...so off we went! Knowing from past experience that the restaurant can feel drafty, I arrived layered up and ready for a cozy-but-practical evening on a cold February night. We walked in around 6pm without a reservation and were seated without issue as we were the only two people inside other than folks working. We started with the flatbread appetizer (feta, spinach, artichoke, mozzarella, mushrooms, peppers, scallions, turkey pepperoni on flaky pastry - $8), and honestly -- this was the highlight of the night. The pastry was thin and crisp, piled generously with toppings, and finished with what tasted like a garlicky sauce that brought everything together beautifully. Light, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. In hindsight, I should have just ordered a second one and called it dinner while things were still making me do the happy food dance. For my entrée, I ordered the Turkey Pesto Crepe ($12.25), described as sliced turkey, mushrooms, tomatoes, provolone mozzarella cheese, and sun-dried tomato pesto. On paper, this sounded fantastic -- a combination that should have delivered distinct flavors and textures. Unfortunately, everything blended together into one uniform consistency, and the individual ingredients didn't stand out the way I had hoped. It wasn't inedible -- I just lost interest after a few bites because nothing felt memorable. My adventure buddy ordered the Sarma (Stuffed Cabbage) ($18.95), described as cabbage stuffed with beef, onions, and rice, served with potatoes (his choice instead of rice). Again, the ingredients sounded promising, but the overall experience landed in the "fine" category -- nothing wrong, but nothing particularly exciting either. The potatoes fell into the same space: acceptable, but lacking seasoning or personality that might elevate the dish. We paired dinner with Pepsi Zero ($2.25 each -- note for fellow Diet Pepsi fans, they don't carry it here). Total for the evening came to about $55 including tip. It may simply not be my flavor style, but I'm always glad to support local and try something new.

All homemade and very good! Hubby had an eclair, which he enjoyed very much. The server was friendly and recommended other interesting places in the area. The seating was cozy and comfortable.

I was part of the planning committee, so I have a little different take on those the only attended. Food: The options are never-ending. They have several different plans and more options than I would ever have imaged. The prices were very fair in my opinion. The quality was good. The appetizers (pretzels bites, meatballs and veggie tray) were nice but the dinner was very good (sirloin tip, Parmesan chicken, green beans, scalloped potatoes and salad). The food service was prompt and attentive - much appreciated. External dessert is allowed and that's what we did. Also appreciated. Drinks: They have a more strict drink policy than other places, but this did not effect our party or guests in the slightest. We did the open bar option, but they only allow beer and wine (no hard spirits). The bottles must be opened and administered from their supplied bartender with an additional fee. This means no big punch bowl or sangria. The bartenders were both very kind, and, as I said, this did not effect our party! Decor/Venue: Beautiful! I walked in and was wowed. Rustic barns are trendy, but they execute better than any other venue of it's type that I've attended. The rustic, farm-style was felt, but not oppressive. They had lots of flowers, Christmas decorations, and lights, hitting festive, elegant and rustic vibes. We were able to bring our own games and arrange the space to have an open area for cocktail hour/mingling. Our event had about 75 people, and it was plenty big. Cleanup and teardown: The sour note in my opinion. They were clear that the party is until 7, and everyone needed to be out by 7:30. However, I cannot stand when people start cleaning up and clearing down, while guest our still there. They started clean up before 7, while the party was technically going on. There was rushing and a lack of care for us at the end that I didn't like. Overall, our guests were very pleased, and the event was wonderful. As someone who organized it, I saw a little bit of a different side, but still greatly enjoyed it and would recommend this venue!

Our family (going back to our grandparents) has been a loyal/regular user of Myers (and later…read moreBuhrig) Funeral Home since the early 1950s. However, because of a practice by Buhrig, specifically by Bob Buhrig and Kirk Freed, specifically where they INSIST that veteran's Death Certificates are $20.00 when, in fact, they are to be FREE, regardless of whether one obtains from from Vital Statistics or via a Registrar (which is an arm of Vital Statistics), that stance CROSSED THE LINE. Granted, to some this may be a small issue...but...it is a BLACK AND WHITE issue...and if Buhrig is going to overcharge in THIS area, it destroys ANY AND ALL sense of ETHICS in its other financial areas. If you do a search on other funeral homes and read where they address veteran death certificates, you'll find that they ALL state they are free of charge. But, Buhrig, even after being called-out on this specific matter, STILL insists they are $20.00 each, and will even suggest that you buy ten (10) certificates for potential executor tasks (i.e. pensions, bank accounts, insurance policies, et cetera). I can't help but believe that Buhrig is "pocketing" these $20.00 charges (for EACH certificate) for veterans (and SPOUSES of such veterans). They are also overly greedy in certain other areas of their services. For example, they charge $140 for a mere register book (where visitors to the viewing/funeral sign their names). You can buy a comparable or better register book online for a mere $20-$25. They also suggest an honorarium of $200-$400 for the pastor whereas other funeral homes suggest a going rate is around $175. What does Buhrig care; it's not THEIR money; they simply prey on the grieving and vulnerable family. For the first time in over 70 years, our family has decided that we will no longer do business with Buhrig based on THIS incident...and...based on other "concerning" observations when it comes to their transparencies. No way. I have even consulted with the State Investigator to look into their veteran death certificate practices, and am happy to see that in our initial telephone conversation, they are taking a HARD look into Buhrig. We shall see what the outcome is, but [again] in our initial conversations, I do feel that Buhrig will become "enlightened" that they can't pull this on everybody. They had taken the wrong stance with the wrong customer!!! And...if you opt to set up an Irrevocable Burial Reserve Account (IBRA) as part of your pre-planning tasks, do NOT be misled that you MUST submit these through Buhrig Funeral Home. You can set these up in a variety of financial institutions -- not ONLY funeral homes.
