The Lodge was a very small and cozy pub. They gave free peanuts with the drinks. Drinks and vibes were great. Cocktails were a bit expensive for a small pub.

We came for the lodge's annual Puppy Bowl and Super Bowl Watch Party. Strangely, the bartender didn't know how to change the TV channel and we had to ask them to change the channel for their own watch party. The ambiance has rustic interior with exposed wood and vintage portraits. Complimentary peanuts are available and added you're encouraged to toss shells on the floor.

Great neighborhood spot for drinks and to catch a game. They've got lots of outdoor seating! Definitely come here for the beer and weekend game.

Da Lodge. Da Bears, Da Cubs..... Great staff, great drinks - and let's be honest - what other bar is open at 8am on a weekday??

What's not to love about this classic gem?!?! Located on an iconic block on Division Street, this small building packs a historic punch. Oh the memories inside these dingy wooden walls. Not much in the way of updates, which creates perfection. Make sure to check out all the amazing details, including the jukebox. The Lodge has this little trick in their pocket. They have a food license but does not have a kitchen. Sooo, they have a deal with a nearby hot dog place so that customers can order fast food delivery. Before COVID, there were peanut baskets on the bar and peanut shells all over the floor. We enjoyed a couple of draft beers that weren't exactly ice cold. Great to hang out anyway. The bartender was fun and friendly - just what you want in a corner bar. Bottom line, check it out if you are a local or a visitor to our amazing city!

The Lodge is a great neighborhood bar in the Gold Coast. Excellent beer selection and other drink options. In the summer the windows are open and you can watch the action on division. The Lodge has a superb collection of bartenders. Hannah K is really more of a mixologist, pouring concoctions from PBR to Jamo. A star behind the bar! Best part of the Lodge is that you can bring you dog!

The name says it all. This place has the aesthetics of a small cozy lodge you would find somewhere in Maine ha. Love the feel though heavy wood interior, small but with a good amount of windows so doesn't feel cramped, big long bar top with fast&friendly service and a juke box in the back corner. Kind of a dive bar feel without the sticky beer soaked floors and gloomy interior. Very clean place. Definitely a bar to hit up if you're looking for a laid back chill environment which can be a nice change of pace from the neighboring division street bars. One of my favorite perks here are the free peanuts. A match made in heaven, Cold beer and Roasted peanuts. Don't worry germaphobe's the peanuts are in shells so everyone's happy! No frills or thrills here just a solid bar with solid service. No complaints other than I wish they had a cheap beer draft option.

Great beer, great service, miserable ringing sound that's piercing. Apparently it's been going on for weeks. Should be an easy fix...

It's a reasonably-priced busy dive bar in the heart of Chicago. I asked the bartender if she had a beer + shot deal and she said "no, but you can order a beer and shot." And so we did! Noise level is fairly high, thanks to a lively crowd plus a jukebox. They don't normally serve food but I think are fine with customers bringing in your own food, and you can also place an order from a nearby restaurant (I don't recall which one). And yes, it's cash only so bring some money if you don't want to pay ATM fees! 4 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. I like bars that allow customers to bring (or order) their own food - it allows for all diets! The one thing I'd like to see is more beer on tap - even just one good rotating local beer (e.g., Goose Island). Draft beer has smaller environmental footprints compared to bottled or canned.

After a quick ID check at the door, the bouncer let us know it's cash only (thankfully we came prepared). From the moment we walked in, dim lighting, loud music, and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds gave the vibe of a full-on frat party, but not in a bad way. It's chaotic, energetic, and unapologetically no-frills. There's even a self-serve cooler with drink prices clearly listed underneath. I grabbed a Sapporo Premium, brought it to the counter, and our friendly bartender broke our change and offered a chilled glass to pour it into. Simple and efficient. That said, it was loud, so loud that even whispering-distance conversations were a struggle. The space is small, seating is limited, and since we couldn't snag a spot, we ended up leaving shortly after finishing our drinks. This feels like a better weekday hang than a packed weekend night. Still, if you're looking for a classic, gritty, no-frills dive experience, Rossi's delivers exactly that.

I realize it's not the simplest shot to make. The gray-haired bartender refused as it was too much work for one shot. Fair enough, I said I'd get two. He said making fewer than four was "a pain in the ass" and he wouldn't do it. Never mind then! Paid, tipped, and started to leave. Didn't want to interrupt the guys impersonation of a bartender for too long. I did mention it to the door staff as I was leaving and they had a problem too. Told me "yeah he's 100% right". Whatever! If the rude service isn't enough, maybe you'll like the copaganda around the bar. I recommend pretty much anywhere else.

While we were waiting for our drinks, he was arguing with two Hispanic men right next to us--for quite a while. When he finally served our drinks, he only brought one, forgetting my fiancé's order. We tried to be patient, but we had an appointment to get to. My fiancé politely said, "Excuse me, I didn't get my drink," and the bartender snapped back, "You didn't order a drink." When my fiancé clarified, the bartender doubled down and said, "No, you didn't, and if you have a problem, you can leave too." At that point, the two men walked out, and we should have, too. Needless to say, this place is a hard pass. Cringe vibes, rude staff, and no sense of customer service. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Surprised this place is still in business given the similar reviews I've seen. Old man needs therapy.

So I visited it in her stead (another benefit of subscribing to AfterActionReport.info). Quite simply the best maintained dive bar I have ever had the pleasure of drinking in and an AAR Must Drink. Most dive bars have a fair amount of seed and are in need of some repair, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not this place, as the spotless tile floor was completely intact, all the swivel barstools (each branded "Richard's Bar" across the back) still swiveled, and the tin ceiling stunning. It's coming up on a hundred years, but the entire joint has been as lovingly cared for as it is cleaned daily. The place has a slight smell of cigarettes. When I mentioned to Joe the bartender, that "I didn't think you could still legally smoke in a bar in this country." He replied "You can't, but people do," as he placed an ashtray next to my beer. All that, and Norm Wendt's brother-in-law bought me a bottle of Old Style because it was his birthday, which was drunk while listening to Steve Lawrence on the jukebox. Norm Wendt's sister then recommended a place for fondue so . . . Located in Old Town, Geja's Cafe is a very romantic warren of a restaurant that offers the best fondue in Chicago.
