I realize it's not the simplest shot to make. The gray-haired bartender refused as it was too much work for one shot. Fair enough, I said I'd get two. He said making fewer than four was "a pain in the ass" and he wouldn't do it. Never mind then! Paid, tipped, and started to leave. Didn't want to interrupt the guys impersonation of a bartender for too long. I did mention it to the door staff as I was leaving and they had a problem too. Told me "yeah he's 100% right". Whatever! Awful experience. My fiancé and I stopped by for a cocktail before checking out tuxedo shops for our wedding, and I wish we hadn't. The bartender was rude and unpleasant from the start. While we were waiting for our drinks, he was arguing with two Hispanic men right next to us--for quite a while. When he finally served our drinks, he only brought one, forgetting my fiancé's order. We tried to be patient, but we had an appointment to get to. My fiancé politely said, "Excuse me, I didn't get my drink," and the bartender snapped back, "You didn't order a drink." When my fiancé clarified, the bartender doubled down and said, "No, you didn't, and if you have a problem, you can leave too." At that point, the two men walked out, and we should have, too. Needless to say, this place is a hard pass. Cringe vibes, rude staff, and no sense of customer service. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I came here for a couple drinks with a few friends after work. They have a lot of good options to drink including Delirium. The bartender was very nice and you could tell she had some regulars that she enjoyed talking with. They also have free pool if you're into that. Overall, it was a solid time. read more

Marquee lounge is a fantastic spot to go have a great time with friends. Our bartender, Katrina, kept up with our big group no problem! Her energy was contagious and contributed to us all having a great time. Marquee is a classic dive bar. Three rooms with two separate bars. The middle room has a pool table as well. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. I found out that you can rent the back room for private parties too! Can't wait to go back soon! read more

Went to have a drink at the bar on Tuesday. The bartender (taller, brown haired, blue eyes) was rude and had an entitled attitude. He proceeded to spend the whole night flirting with some young women down the bar, and acted disgruntled every time he was asked to serve drinks. Ive been coming to this bar for years but I'm still occasionally surprised. Tropical Sundays with Kyle is an amazing treat and you feel like you're on a beach in the islands. Four of my friends, all 23 year old females, were excited to try this bar. The bouncer followed us around and asked four our ID's multiple times, which we gave willingly. When trying to order a drink he rushed to the bartender, who then poured us water and charges us $40. We asked if she needed our ID and if they needed a second form of ID. It's a bar. They have drinks here. A relatively disinterested bartender serves drinks. The beer selection is adequate. The prices are par for the course for this neighborhood. There are chairs to sit in, and windows to look out of. TVs display the requisite sporting events. There is no food. No snacks. No outdoor seating. No apparent happy hour. It's funny that other reviewers have commented on the utter unremarkable nature of this place. It's just so typical, indeed, bordering on, dare I say it . . . mediocre? It's a bar that could exist in any neighborhood, in any city, in any state. I didn't even remember the name of it, but searched it out by it's proximity to Lori's Designer Shoes . . . which is anything BUT mediocre! This place is a good place to stop for a beer and figure out how to use your new phone. Go here, if you want, I guess. Nothing to stop you if you're in the area. I can't give Marquee less than 5 stars. This place has a well maintained pool table, good beer selection, and a great atmosphere. I've been coming here for 10years and it's my favorite bar in Chicago. My only criticism is about how amazing the door guy Martin was in the past and the latest time i visited Carlos was enjoying bossing customers around. I wasn't even playing pool, but heard him shout at customers "get out closing time" at 1:30. No way this place ever deserves less than 5. They are super industry friendly and seem to be the only place that consistently stays open late--to later...Lots of hard working industry folks still may need a beer or 2 after work; and what used to be local hangouts now seem to be closed after work-Marquee is closer, friendly and they always treat industry great. I don't ever think restaurants and bars will after be the same after the last few years; but some things never change--like people--needing good company and a cold beer. Solid dive bar with a pool table. Was told no happy hour specials which is unfortunate especially for how empty it was. We had a couple draft beers which were cold which is all I ask for. I enjoy the layout and look of this bar. It reminds me of a European beer hall with long wooden tables and mural walls that also resemble stained glass. There's also a back area so there usually isn't a whole lot of need to stand for lack of tables. I've been here a couple of times and I don't recall ever having a server so this may be an understaffed bar which means going up to the bar to order your drinks and possibly having to wait to get noticed by the busy bartender. It's a good, casual tavern when you want a few drinks but aren't looking to have a rowdy night. Came here for some beers on a Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend after having brunch. Had the Delirium which they have on draft(love!)and felt welcomed by the bartender. On Monday evening it was not super crowded and my friend and I had the room completely to ourselves. The manager, Rob, was completely unprofessional. He told our friend he would "f*cking kill us" after he used a vape just 3 minutes after entering the bar. It was our first time and we were all unfamiliar with the rules. We told him we would like to be respected and at least receive a warning rather than being aggressively sworn at. He immediately followed with "I'm calling the cops on you" and proceeded to do so. As a side note, we also observed the bartender taking multiple shots behind the bar throughout the short time we were there. When we mentioned that to the manager he stated, "I care more about him then I do about you guys so I don't give a f*ck what you have to say". Horrible customer service, we will not be back and hope no one ever runs into the experience we had. read more
