I had been seeing signs and flyers for this all over London and being a super fan of all things horror, I knew I had to go. The first part was a dramatic story telling in a few different rooms. The rooms were hot so be prepared. The actors talk about all the gory details of what happened down there and it was definitely entertaining. The second part is the horror walkthrough. If you are easily scared, they do give you an option to leave at that point. The walkthrough is tight. They have you put your hands on the person in front of you (conga line style) which was weird at first but it wound up being fun. It's deff like a maze down there and we ended up in a dead end a few different times but it was still a fun time and a bit creepy but I would have loved some more pop outs. Hmmmm. On paper this sounds like a fascinating tour, and the doorway entry seems very inviting. We're offered a dramatic interpretation of the violent and colorful past of the London Bridge. The first half of the tour took our group through various times in history, meeting characters who freely shared the gory details of their life on the bridge. The second half is a spooky maze, with no historical context. It's walking through spiderwebs, near pitch black areas with the occasional spirit jumping out to startle us... all while requiring us to keep our hands on the shoulders of the guest in front of us... like a paranoid conga line. Overall more sideshow, than show. We were so strapped for time, I wish we had skipped this attraction to spend more time at any number of other historical sights including the very close Tower Bridge. read more

We did not understand how "scary" the first half vs the second half would be. You go running through the underground trying not to eat it in the dark because the ground isn't flat while people are yelling and banging on the walls. They marketed themselves as the scariest haunted house in Britain so expectations were high. Came here at around 3 pm on a weekday and was surprised to see a huge line out the door. The wait was approximately 20 minutes until we were able to go inside for our experience. We were greeted but a friendly ticket operator and then watched an extremely not scary video about the history of the London bridge. Then we were led in groups to different rooms by different people who talked through some of the history with a lot of visual cues which was great because it made history a lot easier to understand. Also bonus that the actors were all great and interactive with the audience. The haunted house itself, which came after all the history part, was okay. If you have been to any of the ones in the United States this is really nothing compared to that; however, I feel like the walls are pretty cool because some of them are squishy. Also love the strobing lights (sorry for all the spoilers haha). Overall pretty cool experience. Definitely would recommend if you already have the London pass, but maybe not for out of pocket. read more

Went here with my friends last week for a stag do. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was.... Had a brilliant time and was jumping in the scare part. I had no idea what I was getting into when my parents told me they were taking me here. I assumed it would be some sort of historical tour, which was sort of right. However, it turned out to be a lot more fun. The first half of this is a brief history of the bridge. Actors play people from the time period and give a fun little speech then you move on to the next one. They all stay well in character. The second half is a haunted house. As someone who doesn't scare easily, half the entertainment is being people who do. They are very good at sneaking up on those people as you rush through. Flashing lights make it tough for people with epilepsy. I would definitely recommend trying this out if you have a hour or so of free time. It is definitely one of the better attractions in London. read more

One of the worst experiences of my life. England apparently doesn't yet recognize that anxiety disorders are real, so, they are absolutely flippant and irresponsible with letting just anyone in. And there's no escape once inside. I had a full-blown panic attack, screaming for help, escape, anything at all...I just needed it to end. They have no plans in place to help people in distress. Eventually I knocked down a false wall leading to the backstage, and escaped. I can't believe a company could be so cavalier about peoples' mental health. At least make it clear it's a haunted house ...but no, they're too keen on having ripped off the marketing of the London Dungeon (a far better experience) but then turning it into an extreme horror nightmare while keeping the marketing tame and "educational-looking" to trap unassuming tourists. I have always dreamt of being a zombie so when I heard that you could be a zombie for a day at London Tombs I just had to be one. Firstly though I had a tour through The London Bridge Experience learning about the history of London Bridge and the great fire. Venturing through this immersive and psychotically attraction I learnt more about John Rennie the man who constructured the London Bridge. Learnt about why heads was show cased on the bridge. As well as murders that took place around London Bridge such as the serial killer Jack the Ripper. It was all well done and the actors played their scenes well. For the second half of the tour it was a walk through the scare mazes of the London Tombs where I came across killer clowns, zombies and other scary things. After it was onto being a zombie for a day where I got transformed into a zombie by one of the staff who applied the FX make-up. After being done up I got to choose from an array of costumes.  Initially I chose a strait-jacket but I quickly changed my mind and changed into a zombie nurse. Later I changed into a clown costume.   It was then onto having a few lessons on how to be a zombie from the screeching like a zombie through to the zombie walk.  After this initial run through it was out to the light for some brains, no sorry I mean lunch. The looks I got from passer bus was hilarious. It was then back into the darkness of the tombs to scare the hordes of people that will be adventuring through the tombs in the afternoon.  I loved learning and discovering everything that goes on behind the scenes of this top horror attraction from the art of scaring people to learning how to be scary. Even though by the end of the day I practically had lost my voice from all the zombie screeching it seriously was an adrenaline filled day and one that I will dream, not have nightmares about for years to come. So if you want to be a zombie for a day then I highly recommend booking to become one and where better than the world's top scariest horror attraction in the world.  They have also won winner of the best guided tour group leisure awards and the UK's winner of the most scariest attraction for over 8 years in a row now. However evening you don't want to be a zombie just adventuring through The London Bridge Experience and A London Tombs is very interesting in itself. read more

We stopped by the London Bridge Experience because we were in the area and it was offered as part of the City Pass. I thought it would be like a fun, London-themed haunted house, but honestly it was just really disappointing. The experience isn't scary in the slightest. It's also much slower and shorter than I anticipated. The experience is essentially broken into 2 parts. The first being a "London Bridge" history lessen with the gory, gritty details using live actors. The second is a "haunted house" which doesn't fit in with the theme, isn't scary and just all around sucked. The first half had great and interesting actors and scenes, but these were too short and too few and far between. The second part was worthless. In total, it takes less than an hour and a lot of that time is just waiting around or shuffling between areas. Don't waste your time. Just skip the experience all together, and PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. I'd really only ever consider doing this as part of the city pass since it's technically "free." There are hundreds of other things to do when visiting London so DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! read more

When I came in here I initially thought to myself that this is going to be the cheesiest thing I did while in London. I ended up being partially right, but after I sat and thought about this place I may have a different view. For all intents and purposes this place is a haunted house, an elaborate haunted house. But what sets this one apart from other haunted houses I have been to is that there is a bit of a history lesson built in. If you have the chance to do this when people have gone back to work/school, you won't have a wait. When I walked in I was the first person there and had about a fifteen minute wait until we ventured through the doors. While you wait in the dimly lit entrance area you will notice a television screen that counts down the time until you enter. Upon entering it kind of feels like a ride at any amusement part that is meant to be a haunted tour. Props everywhere, fake spiderwebs and all the like. The actors that take part of the experience here do their job well. Perfect timing to make you jump and they definitely get people to join in on the fun. Walking through you get a brief history on the many bridges that once spanned the river at this location. Not only do you learn about the bridges but you get a brief history of the eras that those bridges were in use. Each area focuses on that area in brief. Two of the eras that stick out were the ones where they speak about placing heads on spikes and Jack the Ripper. I can say that I now know how to properly preserve a head to place it on a steak and where not to go at night if I was a young lady. After the brief history lesson/interactive experience you are led to a room that has screens to instruct you that you are about to embark on an adventure and then you head to an "elevator." Once you are down below you basically make a human chain and then you are off into the darkness to hope that you can see daylight again. Zombie like beings jump out at you, puffs of air blow in your face, flashing lights and tons of darkness. My favorite thing was the narrow passage ways, as you walk through them you feel something poking at you. I measure a haunted house by how much I swear going through it. Since I was swearing like a sailor as I made my way to the end, I'd give this one an A. Only thing I did not like was the fact that I basically hip checked a half wall. Nice bruise to boot, but I suppose that could be blamed on how dark it was inside. read more

It was written up as a teen favorite in London so I took my 12 year old son who likes scary films etc. He was nauseated by the macabre dummies in the lobby that were fashioned to look like dried corpses. Their chalky, dried blood flaked off, creating a disgusting old red dust to drift into the air. He was grossed out so we asked for money back before taking the tour and they refused. I loved it! It was so unexpected that I mixed up the bridge names and learned actual history. After the abbey it was my #1 experience !

Well I have no idea what to say about this. The experience itself was quite scary for me. When I arrived at the place we had to wait in line and I took a picture with one of the actors who scared me, this was funny and cool. Inside, for 25min you get a sort of play and information about the history. For another 20min the scaring part takes place. The whole total time is 45 minutes. All I can say is if you scare easily you should not enter. You can try for the 25 minutes as it is a more calm version of the next 20. After 25 min they ask again if you cannot or do not want to continue, and you are led to a exit door leading to ice cream. Not a bad place, quite cool and informational just not for you if you are scared. read more

Yes, we're tourists. Yes, we got off our double decker tour bus to go to one of these silly haunted houses. Our guide told us London Dungeon has absolutely zero historical significance (there was no "London Dungeon" as you might think if you aren't from the area) so we opted for this place instead. From reading the yelp reviews about the other place they sound almost identical, except that this one focuses on happenings with the bridge and the other focuses on murderers, some who never lived (ie. Sweeney Todd). I am very glad we picked this one as with the student discount they randomly gave us (never even showed cards- I'm 27 years old and not a student) we paid £24 total. Not cheap but London Dungeon appears to be £22 per person! I'd be super angry if we paid something like that! You basically go through a bunch of silly sets with actors going over the top about various London Bridge historical happenings. You get to interact a bit and pull down an early London Bridge with Vikings. One "lucky" guest, who is most likely volunteered by playful family members, has to interact more and I just kept thanking God it wasn't me. The thing about this London Bridge Experience is none of the information seems to seep in or stick with you even though it's presented in a sort of interesting way and no one learned anything. This was proven at the end of the tour when they asked us what we learned and a little British boy said, "There was once something called the London Bridge." We went further to the horror-house portion and it was fun and silly as we expected. The rock monster, spiders, and various ghouls that jump out at you are laughable. Everyone has to put their hands on each others shoulders and follow in a line so if you don't like touching strangers skip this. They also have a "guardian angel" path for people who scare more easily. Not sure how that was since we didn't take it. This thing isn't really worth the money but it does make you laugh and we had a good time. Definitely could've skipped it though. Visiting the Tower of London is a MUCH scarier time! Now that place really gave me the chills.. And I heard a history buff dad from India getting pretty pissed off after the "experience". read more

The actors did an excellent job actually. Props to them! The rest is bollocks. Went in as part of the London Pass, so all I lost was 2 hours of time getting there and going, no real cash. The ticket office is around the corner from the queue so you can't see that it barely moves. Do yourself a favor and count how many people back in line you are from the door. That's a rough estimate of how long until you really get to get going as there are 2 different lines. Getting inside is still another 5 minute wait there to begin. I have no idea why they only let each group of 20 inside every 12+ minutes. You spend 3-5 minutes in a room and then move on. They must spread groups way out, much more than seems necessary. Skipped the 2nd half as we'd had enough by the first half. Kinda fun, but all we wanted to do was get the hell out and go on to other parts of our day. I quite liked this, but it was pretty expensive and on the whole found the experience very mixed. The experience itself involves moving from time period to time period in a kind of interactive history tour, with good room set ups and actors guiding you along and telling stories- mostly stories of battles, gore and terror, of course. It started a bit oddly with someone setting up a good atmosphere only to move us into a fairly bland museum room. It had interesting information about the bridge but really was a bit dry and looked nothing like the rest. Eventually we were brought out by 'Boudicca' who started us off on the tour. A couple of the experiences stood out- the 'head preserver' who prepares decapitated heads for display on the tower, the Victorian barmaid telling the story of Jack the Ripper and running through the Great Fire of London. It seemed to change tone a lot though and at times was a bit confusing. In addition the group was very large with over 20 people, which meant seeing and hearing properly, getting around and feeling the atmosphere were all affected. The experience then (literally) descends into a 'horror maze' at the end (Note it is possible to leave the tour at this point), which was OK but to be honest I'd rather this invested its time into being one or the other (history or horror maze). We were told we had to hold on to the shoulder of the person in front in a chain. This was totally unnecessary and made it even harder to appreciate.Having said that, being chased by someone with a chainsaw spooks me every time. read more

I really didn't know what to expect coming here. I was compelled to check it out because I had the London Pass. Basically, you walk through rooms where different people in the dress of the old days (when London Bridge was literally falling down) teach you about the history of the structure and try to scare you while doing so. The actors do a good job and like any performance job, they feed off the energy of the audience, so I recommend participating to get a better experience. I was in a group with some quiet Europeans (who also didn't really speak English). There were definitely some scary parts--I won't give it away like some people on Yelp did. I guess the big question is, is it worth paying for (without the London Pass)? It depends on how much you're spending. Adult: £24.00 Child: £18.00 Adult: $40 Child: $30 (Exchange rate as of MAY2014) So, for 40USD, I want to say, no it's not worth it. Maybe if it was $20 instead for one adult. With that said, I highly recommend getting a London Pass so that you don't have to worry about all the prices (which will make your wallet really sad). Get the pass online, go to London for at least 3 days, and go to as many places as possible to get your monies worth. read more

"Let's learn about the London Bridge" she said. "It's not scary at all" they said... I went into this attraction with my mother because she said it was the history of the London Bridge. I kept asking her if she was sure because it didn't look like a museum to me, but she insisted. We had the London Pass so it wasn't like we were paying more to go in... so there I was... dragged in against my will for an "educational" experience. I kept asking the ticket girl if it was scary and she said "not the first half," so I asked again "do we need to do the entire thing?" She said no and to exit at the "vortex." The vortex wouldn't come soon enough. If you're a complete chicken, like me, when it comes to anything scary DON'T GO IN HERE! You'll thank me later! I was terrified from the moment we walked through the turnstiles. The place is extremely dark and all sorts of things pop out at you... even in the beginning. I know I know. It's not really fair for me to give them 3 stars because I guess they were doing their job... but I swear I lost 10 years of my life by the time I RAN out of there (what I wanted to give them was 1 star). As soon as we went through the vortex, which made me sick (beware those of you easily susceptible to motion sickness), I was frantically asking for the way out. They lied! They said they would ask us if we wanted to continue the journey and I sure as heck didn't! My mother kept walking into the scary portion of the experience and I should've left her there as revenge. It's just not very good. Expensive and not very good. At £23 entry for a proper adult (not a student or a pensioner) you would be well within your rights to expect more and the only part of this jaunt I was happy with was the 2 for 1 offer we used to get in. Situated under London Bridge (the new one, not the one in Arizona), opposite London Bridge station and a stones throw from the far more impressive London Dungeons, the London Bridge "Experience" gives itself big billing but fails to deliver. Also, to a minor frustration, the entrance appears to be on the high street - Tooley Street - where they indeed advertise it themselves. It's not. The entrance is actually a couple of minutes walk around a back street but, whatever. The London Bridge "Experience" is joined with the London Tombs - more on that disappointment later. In a similar vein to the London Dungeons, you're taken through varying rooms and passages by "actors" who, in different characters, explain the gruesome history of London Bridge. There's not a great deal to learn apparently, the main lesson I've taken form all this is that some actors/actresses aren't very engaging. There are some mildly interesting parts to this walk through time and you will be slightly on edge throughout because of the initial promise made of "scary attraction". So with that, on to the second half of this "Experience", The London Tombs. Try not to be misled, there are no tombs to speak of but that hasn't stopped them making a walking equivalent of a ghost train in the basement. This walk consists largely of animatronics and strobe lighting coupled with grown men in fancy dress jumping out and roaring at you like a lion every so often. Perhaps not as bad as it sounds, this does provide a number of scares (as promised) but in fact amounts to little more than gratuitous shock tactics and a feeling of just what is going to leap out next, this becomes more amusing than terrifying after a while. This place is a joke. It's a waist of time and money. And people were still paying anywhere from £15-25 or more to go through this. I got the London Pass so I didn't have to pay any more, but guess what...just because you have the London Pass, it's ok to NOT go to this. It's ok to skip this. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. Sub-par performing actors will guide you through this scary early 1900s London scenario. They will throw in a few laughs here and there. But ultimately you'll go through a series of dark mazes with your hands mounted on the shoulders of the guy or gal in front of you. Pretty nasty stuff if the person you are holding is greasy in nature. They should have hand sanitizers at the end of this tour. read more

If you want to get the dark history of London and enjoy being scared, do this tour!! My boyfriend and I did this tour more for me than for my boyfriend -- I'm totally into the scary/dark history of places and I also love to be scared! The first half of the tour is made up of actors portraying the dark history of London from the 1600's to about the 1800's. Every city has a dark past, and London does for sure! The actors interact with the people taking the tour, so be prepared to be picked on! Loved it! The second half of the tour is a haunted maze. Think Halloween mazes in October, and that's what this is! I jumped a couple of times for sure. All in all, I enjoyed doing this tour. Halloween in July!!! I loved this place! Teaching people about history using props and story telling. Then there's the maze at the end which is better than most of the mazes at Knotts Scary Farm. Some stuff is gross, but given old England's infatuation with chopping off people's heads to cheering crowds, displaying heads on stakes and slicing and dicing others, there is really no way to put it nicely. Clearly it's not for small kids or those wishing to avoid the reality of London's past- nothing sanitized here. Another London Pass spot. read more

Went here for my friend's sister birthday and bought tickets on a groupon deal.. literally half the price.. we all thought it would be scary through out the tour but it wasnt. The first part told us about the history of london bridge which was interesting and lead us to a little exhibition room which showed us artifacts and pictures.. the actors and actresses throughout each room were quite entertaining especially the last one! Don't waste your time; go to the London Dungeon instead. The actors are not great at what they do, which makes the whole experience kind of boring in all, and they don't really have that much to show you in the first place. The "Scary Maze" at the end was one of the weakest ones I have ever gone through, I think they had 3 real life monsters in all that just kept going into the different rooms. And I hated the presser room that you had to walk though. I say for the same amount of money you get a much better time and more interactive time at the Dungeon's. I will not be back to the London Bridge Experience. And you can't even take any pictures there. With no pictures to show what's the point of even going. read more

I had fun going here and really didn't expect much. I bought the London Pass so it was covered and I was in a faster line (faster doesn't mean much as they only take in a small group of people every 10 minutes or so). It was some kid who couldn't be older than early 20s letting us in. The first part of the LBE is actually based off true events which was interesting. They throw in ways with it to make it interactive and scary. My group had 0 enthusiasm so the participation was lacking. The Tombs part is the "scary" part with people popping out to scare you and stuff. SPOILER: I do wish they didn't have the thing where you enter between 2 mattresses squeezing you in. I had a large purse with me and it was a struggle getting it to fit. Like someone here mentioned, I actually don't think people of all sizes could get through this making it embarrassing. At the end when I exited, some guy working there who remembered me going to buy a ticket, asked me what I thought and how was it. It was nice that he remembered me and asked. Now would I go here without the London Pass? No, but I maybe would go if I had the 2 for 1 coupon. I went to the London Dungeons years ago and was disappointed with that. read more

I went to the London Bridge Experience just over a month ago with my boyfriend, the tickets cost £17 each and the website makes it look really terrifying. When we came out of the train station there were representatives from the London Bridge Experience outside giving out leaflets and he approached us asking if we were interested... We said we were already on our way there anyway. This man then said some rubbish about giving us a discount as the tickets are usually £25 but said he could do them for £17 but we already knew that tickets are £17 from the website? I don't think they should be allowed to try and rope people in like this, making them think they're getting a really good deal when the actual price is just £17 anyway. When we entered the building for the London Bridge Experience we were in a little queue and told to wait whilst someone collected us for the tour to start. We felt as though the beginning of the tour was a bit slow to start and had to wait in a museum type room whilst the London Bridge is Falling Down song was played over and over again which got irritating. The actors were really good and really got into the spirit of it and I like the way they involve the tourists and the things they come out with can be quite amusing - after all, it's great to poke fun at tourists. The last section, supposed to be like a post-apocalypse zombie scene was by far the best part and it was scary! We had to walk single-file through various rooms whilst holding onto the person in front as it was dark and actors would come out from nowhere and make spine-chilling noises. Being the second from last, I didn't think that I would get picked on as much as the people at the front of the queue was I was wrong! The experience is essentially split into two, for the first half; the London Bridge Experience, you are led by actors on a tour of London Bridge's many forms and its history. There is a lot of good information given as well as a lot of fun to be had which will keep the kids entertained for the first thirty minutes or so of your visit. If you're brave enough you then set off in smaller groups into the Tombs, a former plague pit, which are dimly lit and host all kinds of horrible nasties designed to terrify. Make your way past walls that are dripping in blood, squeeze through confined spaces and gasp in terror as you're met with spiders, snakes, ghosts and ghouls, and many other horrors. It's a thrilling journey that uses the latest in Hollywood style wizardry and hilarious live actors. Children under 11 can request a special "Guardian Angel tour" which tones down the scares and skips a few extreme bits. Anyone with a heart condition, claustrophobia, breathing difficulties etc will be advised not to go into the tombs. read more

Not the best attraction in London to say the least, but if you have a London Pass its one of the attractions you can use the pass for so might be worth while just to get some use out of the passes which i personally think are a waste of cash as you barely get a chance to fit attractions in due to time scales and queues. Where the London Bridge Experience got its 'scariest attraction' label from I dont really know. Different people act parts of historical characters, some interesting facts in there, but not a great deal really. At the end you are asked if you want to continue to the 'tombs' .. lots of warnings about how scary it is and not to go in if you are pregnant or have a heart condition etc. Yo are then asked to walk in a line hands on the person in fronts shoulders.. a few actors make noises and stuff around you on occasion.. ( all in the semi dark.. lots of strobe lighting so be wary of that if it effects you ).. 2 huge plastic mattresses side by side making you have to squeeze through them for a few seconds.. (hmm.. as I squeezed throughface on the mattress I wondered how many faces had rubbed themselves on that mattress ! ) I also understood why you couldnt be pregnant to go in there.. tight squeeze if youn were 8 months gone or over weight I would imagine! There are enough postings online to reveal what The London Bridge Experience is about. Front part presents costume commentary history of Medieval London followed with Scare entertain tacts @ the end. Not recommended for kids or adults who have low tolerance for scare shocks and dark places. Weird on how the experience ended with modern time "Saw" scene; quite unrelated to the mid 14th Century theme. Quite fun experience depending on how much horror one can withstand. read more
