Had a great overnight stay here. Check-in flew by, which surprised me. First that they had a…read moreline, and second that they got three of us through at once and quickly. I didn't think we'd make it through before the pool closed. I was wrong, luckily. They have an adults only pool and spa, and an open pool, spa, and lazy river. They were all relatively well kept, though there were multiple bottle caps at the bottom that we kept stepping on. The ones that were there the night before were still there the morning after. The pool staff were really nice. They had already run out of towels at the counters, and the guy went to get us some freshly cleaned ones from the utility room. Much appreciated. The rooms were very nice. We stayed in the king suite, very well laid out. Only complaint is they had a steamer and not an iron. Doesn't work the same, but oh well. The decor was nice, the bed was comfortable, the AC was rocking. Really enjoyed the room. Whomever stayed there previously not only changed the time on the clock, but set an alarm at an ungodly hour. Well played. The casino is a bit smaller than Golden Nugget across the street. The lower ceilings give it a smaller, cozier feel. No luck on the slots here, but we did get into some blackjack. Under the tutelage of Justin T. I now have a new favorite card game. I had previously stayed away from the tables. By the time we checked in all the restaurants had closed, so we didn't get to try any of the food here. The wait staff in the casino were not very attentive and did not return with our drinks. When we found the guy later in the same spot that we ordered in, he said he had been back and that we had left even though we hadn't moved since we had been there. Always fun catching the BS. So well I can rate the lack of service, I can't rate the quality of the drinks because I didn't have one. Maybe next time. Parking here is easy, there's a huge lot outside. They also have garage parking, which I prefer. Have your car out of the elements. Overall really good stay, would definitely come again.

First night and the staff was very nice up until I got to the front desk then from there it all…read moretook a turn. I booked and fully paid for a smokers room over a week ago and ended up in a non smoker room. I almost lit up as soon as I walked in but luckily asked the bell boy to confirm if it was a smokers room. He let me know he was not sure since he was under the impression they only had one smokers floor (floor 10) however he was confident that I would not be charged since as I was walking down the hall it clearly smelled like DANK. He said he had also heard of multiple guests staying , smoking and "nothing happening" when they left. I was still uneasy so we tried calling the front desk multiple times from my room just to double check. No answer. Finally I went down to the front desk and saw there was a long line. I also saw there was a L'auberge employee standing off to the side so I walked up thinking I could ask him a question. He completely ignored me. I got in the line right before the line essentially tripled in length with only two people at the desk. Of course as soon as I get to the front of the regular people line, three other people got in the vip line. VIP is when you are already a reward member AND book through the hotel site directly. More points, more perks. Do I as a first time customer AND birthday girl get that, no of course not. So as I waited for the big spenders to get taken care of I finally reached the front of the line. I asked to confirm if I was in a smokers room and was informed that I was not and would not be able to be properly placed into the room I paid for over a week before my booking. I was told to come back after 3:30 am and at that time I would be able to see if they had any availability. I came back just to be told I would have to wait until morning time to get my room situation fixed. I was really frustrated on my birthday because as my friends were checking in, we noticed the hospitality of the staff and cleanliness of the hotel decline significantly. All in all might just have to try the golden nugget next time. I was really hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
