I travel frequently for both work and leisure, and I've stayed in everything from hostels to five-star resorts. Never...and I mean NEVER.. have I experienced anything remotely as horrific as my stay at Coushatta. I'm genuinely questioning how this place is still allowed to operate. This hotel is not just bad -- it's hostile. It feels like everyone who works there actively hates guests. The rooms are revolting, the service is nonexistent, and management clearly couldn't care less. It's not just a bad experience; it's an actual health and safety risk. I wouldn't stay here again if the room was free and came with a winning lottery ticket. This place should be shut down, fumigated, and investigated by every health authority in the state. Welcome and good luck my ass..

I really wanted to come here even though this was an hour away from our hotel, Delta Downs as this was the biggest casino in Louisiana and has the loosest slot machines and was hoping to get a jackpot as they did have $10 dollar pinball. We came here for the casino and we ended up staying there for six hours which is a good amount of time. The casino is going though a lot of construction as I am sure they are making the casino much bigger as they have competition in Lake Charles and try to attract people to come down from Alexandria. So getting to the parking lot can be confusing, but we ended up parking in the lot. I was hoping there would be a parking structure. Casino overall is a good size. They have around 2600 machines and they carry old and newer machines and has a budget for everyone from low rollers to high rollers. They old IGT machines which are the pinball and I am sure they are a favorite. They have 25 cent top dollar and a slew of those machines down the rolls. The casino have a good selection of high to low volatile machines. Now I did not get too lucky at the casino and did not have a major win like $550 dollars from pinball and $400 progressive win and $395 dollars off an Aristocrat machine that is high in volatility or a promise of getting a jackpot. But this casino does have potential. I wish they did have the Ainsworth Thunder Cash, Mustang Money, etc. But they had Coyote Bucks and the San Bao Pandas. I believe this casino does get the latest and greatest games as I was able to play top dollar grand, but found out it was a high volatile game and the bonus was not good. I lost the most at this casino, but then again I was trying to get the bonus from pinball and the San Bao Pandas which burned through my budget the most. I did loose quite a bit of money and probably the most out of the three casinos. However, it was not to the point where I do not want to come back ever here again as if you play high stakes you are going to go through a lot of ups and downs. But if I am back in Lake Charles, I would come back here again. At least my wife did really well here however and came out a winner.

Let's start with the good. Pleasant staff. Clean hotel. Clean gambling area. Restaurants also were clean. The staff was pleasant everywhere and check-in was easy. Food was GOOD at the Noodle House and the Steakhouse. BAD: THE PLACE WAS FREEEEEEEEZZZZZING. And I like things cold! Let me break down per area. Let me start with the pool. First off, they don't have enough rafts to float down the lazy river. Staff said they were "ordered." Pool season is almost over........ 2. They NEVER cleaned the pool area. There were towels and trash everywhere 3. The pool itself needed some maintenance, starting with the missing tiles along the lazy river. 4. They had 3 staff sitting on their butt doing literally NOTHING where people come in. Those people could have been cleaning up and picking up towels and discarded drinks, etc. They had food on the counter where people came in, and two were slouched down with their feet up. 5. The bar was crowded, had a missing panel with exposed wires that was very unattractive. I actually thought the whole bar area needs a revamp. So overcrowded and Messy 6. Lifeguard chairs looked terrible. Hotel room. 1. Cleaned nicely but the first thing I saw when we walked in was the missing paint on the wall and stains on the carpet. I have photos. 2. Actually had enough towels. Imagine that 3. Toilet paper is really revamped Sand Paper, so if you have a delicate touchey bring your own! 4. Cleaning staff Very nice. That's shocking. Activities: 1. Gambling.Gambling. 2. Bingo 3. Gambling 4. Pool. 5. Gambling. They would get a LOT more business if they had more things to do! *And yes I IKNOW it's a CASINO for those who will feel the need to comment. Auditorium (or whatever you call it.). Piss poor design. They have the HUGE AC things against the wall. If you were unfortunate enough to have a seat by them, you had a HUGE problem hearing. The people running the screen, did NOT do a good job at ALL of helping us see Jay Leno from the nosebleeds.

They are currently doing construction for a new hotel. They were still working after 10:00 p.m. We called the front desk to inquire about what time the stop and were told they didn't know. They work at the construction site through all hours of the night. As you can see from the photo they have a long way to go so if you want to sleep I would not recommend staying here. Not to mention the lack of care from the manager about the noice.

They do have sodas and coffee for self serve

No complaints about rooms, hallways and facilities (built 2012); clean & well kept, showing little wear. Well-arranged - featuring walnut headboard and very large walnut shelf/counter/enclosure for the tv - quite luxurious. Single-serve coffee maker, "Community Coffee;" small fridge w/ no freezer portion; no microwave; large screen tv w/ lots of channels; bathis large, clean, well-maintained. Strangely, the A/C made the room TOO COOL!? We finally got room warmed up to 83℉ (adjusting the thermostat overnight) on the first night. Overall, there's limited things to do here and in the surrounding area: casino (it is large w/ lots of slots, live poker etc.) plus restaurants and the Dream Pool w/ its "lazy river." The pool is shallow (no deep end) and has a shallower kiddy wading area close to deck chairs, plus a swim-up bar. One beach towel is provided per person. We stayed 2 nights and did it all (no kids). Seven Clans has no staffed lobby, so it is about 400' +/- away to reach the lobby which serves the new Legacy Tower Hotel and Casino entrance. Conversely, since the pool area is out east beyond the Seven Clans, it actually is the closest access from the rooms. You can park near the front or rear sides of Seven Clans for off-loading, etc. Big Sky Restaurant is exceptional - an upscale setting (expensive) and well-presented, ample meals; it's a formal table setting: 2 forks, appetizers: tasty bread w 2 spreads (butter & c. cheese/pepper jelly), softshell crab on paste. The food tasted great! It's a relaxing setting, small cozy cubicle (would seat 4-5 adults). very quiet (with few customers @ 5-5:30 before the crowds arrive). A large Starbucks is off the lobby. Also available for breakfast, lunch, dinner are: the Terrace Café sit-down, cafeteria style; the Lagniappe Café self-serve type cafeteria; and Noodles Asian Restaurant.

I didn't think we'd make it through before the pool closed. I was wrong, luckily. They have an adults only pool and spa, and an open pool, spa, and lazy river. They were all relatively well kept, though there were multiple bottle caps at the bottom that we kept stepping on. The ones that were there the night before were still there the morning after. The pool staff were really nice. They had already run out of towels at the counters, and the guy went to get us some freshly cleaned ones from the utility room. Much appreciated. The rooms were very nice. We stayed in the king suite, very well laid out. Only complaint is they had a steamer and not an iron. Doesn't work the same, but oh well. The decor was nice, the bed was comfortable, the AC was rocking. Really enjoyed the room. Whomever stayed there previously not only changed the time on the clock, but set an alarm at an ungodly hour. Well played. The casino is a bit smaller than Golden Nugget across the street. The lower ceilings give it a smaller, cozier feel. No luck on the slots here, but we did get into some blackjack. Under the tutelage of Justin T. I now have a new favorite card game. I had previously stayed away from the tables. By the time we checked in all the restaurants had closed, so we didn't get to try any of the food here. The wait staff in the casino were not very attentive and did not return with our drinks. When we found the guy later in the same spot that we ordered in, he said he had been back and that we had left even though we hadn't moved since we had been there. Always fun catching the BS. So well I can rate the lack of service, I can't rate the quality of the drinks because I didn't have one. Maybe next time. Parking here is easy, there's a huge lot outside. They also have garage parking, which I prefer. Have your car out of the elements. Overall really good stay, would definitely come again.

The decor was not as outdated as it could be and you can see where they have touched things up over the years. It is a massive facility with other things to do besides gamble. The place smelled of smoke as I would expect from any casino/hotel. The Top Golf Suite cafe took an hour and a half to bring food and it made everyone in there mad as h*ll. Nobody understood how you couldn't be prepared for an influx of people due to a conference. The burger I ordered from there was ok but the fries were overcooked. Paragon disabled the hdmi capabilities of the tvs so don't bring your PlayStation or Xbox thinking you'll play any of that here. They don't have a do not disturb sign for your door. The water pressure on the shower may be the worst in the United States of America. The light above the toilet area inside the bathroom was supremely dim. Flashlight needed My room had a sour smell mixed with housekeeping cleaner that kind of settled down after I ran the AC through my room. Stains were everywhere on my carpet and sofa chair. For the second day of my stay the water coming out of all of my faucets were BROWN (pictured). I notified the front desk and they recommended to just run the water for a while...I started running water at 4:45 pm and it is still brown at 10:21 PM. My coworkers also had brown water issues. The bed was very comfortable though. The towels in the room were clean and the surfaces that really mattered like the bed and countertops were clean. Paragons ability to host a conference is not in question because the infrastructure is there to do it and the service was polite. The food served at the conference was good overall. The movie theater was clean and a great experience. I would've tried the spa but it was closed. Numerous certain areas of the hotel just had a snapshot of an absolutely putrid odor. Every time I walked past a certain smell I just got mad as h*ll lol. If your love is not totally with gambling and getting drunk like never before...I would just stay at the Hampton across the street and then visit Paragon for certain activities. If you really need to gamble, come to any of the hotels in Shreveport/Bossier....may be a fraction of the size of the Paragon but I can almost guarantee you'll be happier and cleaner. As of 12:39 AM my water is now clear

They have a different kind of top dollar as there was a Blazing 7 kind. I ended up playing the machine, however no luck. I had luck at Pinball. They have a nice and friendly staff as I was helped very fast when the machine broken. There was in particular that was broken and I ended up on it. The security and staff was nice as well and kept asking me for a drink, but I told them no as soda and water is okay with me. I came here on the 2nd visit, but did not have much luck. I am not so sure if it was because I was carrying over my losing streak from Biloxi at Harrah's. But I was losing really fast there that I ended up leaving in an hour.
