I really love me to Love Aquarium! Besides the seaming endless supply of hill stream loaches, it's absolutely delightful to come here and see sparkling clean tanks, healthy fish, and not a single spec of duck weed. I have been learned about planted tanks and they have been helping me with plants and they are always nice with helping me pick plants and fish for my thank. They are also nice to my young kiddo who tags along and asks a ton of questions and is an aspiring fish keeper. I think a casual hobby tank or a serious fish keeper can be happy with the selection here, and it's become my go to location. I definitely need to head over soon to get my most recent algae bloom in check ha ha!! Definitely swing by to take a gander and some fishes. read more

I went to go return a pump, which was gonna be cheaper and I asked if I can get the remaining in guppies. Since I was gonna use for turtles, I only wanted to a couple remaining. They didn't want to sell it to me. And then when I complained, they told me that I was on a good one. the employees do not have a right to tell you what you can and can't do with your items. There's not a lot of parking. I would not recommend going. read more

I love this little shop I could stare at the displays for hours. Shoutout to the petsmart employee who told me about this place last year. They sell hardscape materials (rocks, wood, substrate, plants) I can use for both aquariums and terrariums. I've purchased healthy plants, shrimps, and snails from this store. The employees are knowledgeable and kind. I was surprised that they remembered my name after shopping there a few times. I've brought a handful of my aquatic hobbyist friends to this store and they also love it. It's truly an Escondido gem. Extremely clean and healthy tanks/fish too. Really great variety of fish and spices/ different sizes too which Is awesome to see how big they would get. All the workers are way too nice and friendly. Customer service was deplorable along with any sort of help or suggestions. The prices are all over the place. 2 UN tanks both different sizes were priced at $120, while others are priced at a different price; online they're cheaper. I asked for help with getting stuff for a betta, and was immediately cut off before I could finish what I was exactly thinking of. I was met with rude attitude and minimal help. I was wanting to get stuff for a low tech tank but I couldn't even get to say that. All he helped with was show me substrate/plants and then walked away. I've been in twice and the prices are decent, but the customer service was horrible each time. It was pretty much nonexistent the first time and nonexistent until they were closing and rushed me out. They do have some fish I hadn't seen at other stores but I might not go back since I don't want to give hundreds of dollars to people who don't appreciate my business. The most fun you will have shopping for fish! The minute you walk into The Love Aquarium you are greeted by the stores mascot. A blue haired mannequin wearing one of Loves funky printed T-shirts for sale. The store is draped in enormous Pothos vines and music memorabilia. There are always good tunes playing. Feels like walking into a record store in the 90's but with aquariums. I've been coming to love for 3 years now. I come back all the time for the excellent vibes and huge selection of fish, plants and goods. I really enjoy exploring both the fresh and saltwater stock. There is always something new to look at. Don't forget to check the room in the back of the store with all the lightly used aquariums you could ever want! Store attendant launched into ridiculous comparison of him being a doctor and wanted to quiz us on what made us think water needed to be tested. Then another customer came in to buy salt water and our "doctor" left us at the counter to help him. The guy points across the room and says, "they should be there". Mind you, there are 2 levels of about 10 tanks, side by side. Its a great ship located in Escondido. I don't know many other places other than this location. And has been a great experience each time I have visited. The staff have been friendly, helpful and show great care into their work and with customers. Only reason for 4/5 stars is simply because of product on hand. What they carry is still a great selection but just not everything I need for my supplies. That being said, they still carry a good selection of both freshwater and saltwater pets. Please do not purchase fish from this store. They do not regulate or keep their tanks clean. Not once have we seen them clean. Every time we enter the store they are standing around. I would give zero stars if it were p We bought new fish for our very healthy freshwater tank and they ended up giving our flowerhorn cichlid a fungus/disease. He is very lethargic and has stopped eating. We brought this to their attention and they simply brushed it off. Owners are not very friendly and didn't seem to care or take any responsibility for this issue. They are two young siblings not cut out to have the responsibility of running a business in this field. They only shrugged their shoulders when we confronted them about the issue. They did not offer us a refund or any real professional advise. We are very disappointed and will not be shopping here again. I was doing a video vlog with YouTuber Kyle Le and we were shopping around for a betta fish, tank and a few aquatic companions. After shopping around at PetSmart and Petco, we just couldn't find a good selection of shrimp or healthy snails to be companions to our betta. The Love Aquarium is located in Escondido, CA right off the main Valley Parkway, in a small shopping plaza. To be honest, I had to do a Yelp Search for local fish shops to find it. But I'm SO GLAD that I did! The Love Aquarium is a hole-in-the-wall shop filled with fishes and well, love! We were helped by a knowledgeable staff that you could just feel their genuine love for aquatic life; this made customer service excellent and friendly. The staff was patient in answering our inquiries and we didn't feel pressured to buy anything. The quality of the fish and their habitats were fantastic and showed that they actively took care of them. This is the main reason why I will return to The Love Aquarium in the future, because I know that the fishes are genuinely cared for and you don't have to fear them being sick when you get one. We ended up finding a lovely wood shrimp for the tank and their prices were reasonable for being a smaller pet shop. Whether you're a tank owner already or looking into being a new pet owner and want to start out small, I'd recommend getting a fish. 1st time here: Took my 2 eldest kiddos here today. We we're there to get a starter fish for my eldest son as a reward for good grades. Due to his disability, my son has extreme anxiety and OCD. Well the staff were all so nice and pacient with him. He was having trouble focusing on what the gentleman was explaining to him but he continued to make sure he understood which fish was best and why and how to care for it.
