I have been coming here for many years and stop in whenever in town. The shop is located in the artsy part of the redeveloping original downtown and is a part of and reflects perfectly the downtown's eclectic character. The store is located in a great, older retail shop with a covered corner entry that lets them showcase some eye catching pieces to entice you inside. The vibe is slightly cluttered chic with distinct sections and it's easy to peruse based on what you might be looking for or discover things you weren't. I personally like that they are not too worried about "staging" like some places and just get the stuff out there. I am never disappointed at the amazing and eclectic collection of furniture, furnishings, decorations, art, books--almost anything you can think of and many things you wouldn't but glad you saw and bought. I always find something fun, useful, maybe even historical from some perspective, to take home. The owners are super friendly, very good humored (we usually have a yuck about something), and just nice to interact with. Depending on the piece, they may even be willing to entertain offers which is such smart business in this business. All-in-all this place is just fun and I always walk away feeling good about my purchase from both a value and price perspective but also from an interacting with the owners perspective. That said the original Featherbone employeed the majority of my family from the 1920's onward - in fact many of them can be found in a large panaramic photo when you walk into the facility. Celebrating the past is a positive way to remember it and in many ways the Featherbone manages this well. It's a nice place with interesting and very articulate reproductions - many in cast iron. The serivce there is very friendly and I would say if we had a summer place in the county, Featherbone would be our first stop!

Well anyway, I noticed that Chelle's and Green Garage were nowhere to be found on Yelp so I decided to fix that. As far as I know, Chelle's and Green Garage are owned by the same person. While Green Garage is more antique furniture and home decor focused, Chelle's has a ton of super cute and cool clothing plus jewelry, shoes, soaps, and other fun stuff. I initially found it while walking my dog through Chesterton one morning and then quickly returned with my mother to do some serious shopping. The items in this store can be a bit expensive, however, it all appeared to be "Made in the USA" and environmentally-friendly products. I LOVE that she has sale racks full of awesome clothes, really cute dresses for reasonable prices, and I even ended up with this great product I can spray on my dog to keep him from getting all stinky. I am a frequent shopper and Sojourn had some really fantastic pieces that would make a unique gift or that cool piece you've been looking for high and low. We were instructed to go upstairs where we would meet our daughter's bridal consultant. Jen introduced herself and let me tell you there is nothing unforgettable about her. From her welcoming presence, to her huge smile, and especially the way she made our daughter feel very special. Jen led us to our seats which were so comfortable. It felt like we were going to experience this bridal dress shopping in the comfort of our own home. In front of us was this large room full of mirrors, a pedestal, and curtains held open by metal tiebacks. Jen took her daughter and started looking at dresses. Jen asked our daughter so many questions. She wanted to know our daughter personally, so she could select the correct gowns. Jen assisted our daughter getting her gown on and she'd open up those curtains and it was like this grand experience. The last gown our daughter tried on was the most beautiful and perfectly designed for her. It's like consultant Jen knew that this was the finale gown. We explained to Jen that we had another bridal appointment at one of the chain bridal store. Jen took our daughter's measurements for the finale gown our daughter loved. Our daughter did not receive her bridal moment at the chain store and the dresses she tried on did not compare to her finale gown at your shop. Our daughter called your shop back and asked if she could come back and try on that finale gown one more time. Jen was right there to welcome us. Jen had our daughter in the gown with the veil and she grandly opened up those curtains and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. Our daughter said, "I say yes to the dress".
