Who knew that Jackson, Mississippi is home to some really outstanding and memorable eats! Table 100…read morewas located just a short drive from our hotel, so we decided to have a nice dinner. The restaurant has a formal setting, but with a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. We started with some drinks and a wedge salad. Portions are large but they don't skimp on quality. For mains, I ordered the redfish and it was perfection! The gulf has some delicious seafood and the fish was cooked so perfectly tender to perfection!! Delicious dining experience!

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.

But this one was just right for me. I feel like you could show up after a round of golf and it would be cool. That's as long as you don't have swamp ass, LOL. Inside is well lit and airy. There are lots of windows and it's quite comfortable. Our server was great. So good in fact, I have no recollection of them or the service. That's strange. Nothing. I can't even remember if they were male or female?!?!? I do however remember my food. We started with crab claws. They were darn tasty. Nice lemon flavor to the batter and the sauces were great accompaniments. Would recommend! For dinner I chose the Prime Chile Rubbed Flank Steak. Gosh damn was it good! Perfectly cooked, seared well, and still medium rare inside! The sauce was fantastic as well and the fresh cut Parmesan fries were a stupendous addition to the dish! I loved the whole damn thing!!! The spinach was quite unique and very good. It was like crispy sautéed of something. I must have made some noises that my dinner companion had to know about because he ate a couple slices of my steak after I was done. I thought about dessert but the boys didn't want to help so maybe next time!! I will come back here. I hope this meal was not a fluke!! I can't stop thinking about that damn steak!! '26 - 40

Definitely a good place for lunch…read more Keeping in the theme with wanting to eat southern food while in the south, it was redfish once again. Just like yesterday's redfish, this one was different but absolutely fantastic. A wide variety of lunch options, as well as some daily lunch specials made the choice what to eat a tough one. Leaning towards what they're known for, redfish, I gave this place a try as well. This was a thick piece of redfish which included lump crab on top with a cream sauce, smothered all over it. The meal included garlic mashed potatoes, as well as string green beans. The green beans weren't super plentiful, but they were good. The mashed potatoes were a little on the cool temperature side, but they were also very good. You don't get much lump crab, but that too was good. One of the folks got a sandwich with their special chips. I had to try the chips, must say they were excellent. The server for as busy as she was, was terrific.

From the exterior, the establishment boasts a wonderfully classic, vintage aesthetic. Stepping inside reveals a uniquely styled interior featuring an extraordinarily impressive array of fine spirits and luxury beverages. The service was top-tier and delightfully attentive from the moment we arrived our host graciously poured drinks for the three of us to begin our meal. I opted for a Blackberry Shrub, which was expertly mixed, incredibly refreshing, and executed to perfection, while my assistant selected her own beverage. For our dining selections, I ordered the Tamale Boudin balls, while my assistant chose the Ribeye. When the dishes arrived at the table, they were nothing short of exceptional boasting a rich, authentic, homemade style that was utterly delicious and deeply satisfying in every respect. What makes Downtown Grille such a remarkable find is that despite its elevated flavors, impeccable service, and sophisticated bar program, it remains delightfully reasonable. Full marks for a marvelous dining experience I shall most certainly be returning!

I was kind of worried since it's a nice looking place surrounded by businesses that appear to be permanently closed. However, a crowd picked up closer to 8, so I can tell it's a local favorite. Our server was amazing! Didn't have to ask for refills, condiments or anything. She handled us really well and answered any questions we had. I ordered one of the daily specials, blackened redfish. Menu said it came on orzo, which I don't like so I subbed for the long grain rice. I added a side of broccolini. Food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. My fish, with that Cajun cream sauce, melted in my mouth! I didn't like the rice, as it was gummy but the broccolini was cooked as if a gold medal was the prize at the end of the night! My only misgiving about it was I wanted more of it!

I settled back with my usual corona, and they didn't hassle me for opening my own bag of chips -- a good sign. First test passed. I then ordered something off-menu... could they make me some "sweet potato fries." Not only did they say "heck yeah!" But asked me if I wanted some "brown sugar and butter" to dip them in. Wtf?? Okay! They then served me up a fantastic combo I had never tried before... Ok, so being new to teh Delta, and based on the other review mentioning "good ol' boys," I'm never sure if I'm going to walk into a place with a ... well... "caucasians-preferred" vibe. But no. Here black and white customers and staff intermingled with smiles on their faces, and I felt instantly at home. And the only "Good Ol' Boy" I met at the bar was a damned cool dude. Regarding the staff, Amanda has a big-but-warm, inviting up-front personality that makes patrons feel at ease... the cook and the other "bartendress" ("Felony Melanie") were also awesome. (A bit awestruck by Amanda's beauty, I snuck a peek at her ring finger, ... but sorry guys: this beautiful specimen appears taken. Awww, snap!) Amanda let me vape at the bar without hassle, and even handed me the TV remote so I could change the channel to my favorite Krav Maga show to watch live-action ultra-violence, always a good mix with alcohol, ya know! ;) How much would you pay for three Coronas with a generous side of limes, sweet potato fries, and hand-made-Carmel sauce? In my home town of San Diego, probably $24 to $27. Here: $13-something plus tax. Based on atmosphere, staff personalities, customer service, amazing value, and their off-the-menu treat, I'm gonna slide this one all the way to 5 stars. I know their awesomeness is gonna pay off ... and I wish they'd open a franchise in my new home town of Natchez so I could steer my hotel (StarlingsRest.com) guests there! Way to go, guys!
