I hired him after I moved into my new home to do various projects. He did some of the work without an issue but ultimately ended up not finishing the entire project, but told me he'd be back. He left my kitchen window unfinished, and did an awful job sanding down some other of my windows. I text him and he doesn't respond at all. If he sent me back some money, I'd find someone else to finish the job, so he doesn't even have to come back. At this point, I have retained a lawyer and started legal proceedings. read more

However when he came he was professional, worked fast, easy to communicate with, and mostly I trusted him since he delivered good work so I gave him the remodel job instead. The photos show it but exceptionally pleased with how it turned out. We did a half bathroom remodel from baseboards, flooring, level setting tiles, vanity, paint, mirror, fixtures, drywall, etc. Unlike a lot of traditional Orlando handy folks I've worked with, the best thing about Max is his responsiveness. He gets things done, he tells you his plan, updates you on the progress and tells you like it is. Some folks you hire, you'll have no idea what's going on and especially for someone who isn't local it's critical to see and trust what's going on. Max also gave a very reasonable price even from several other quotes I got so I would 100% highly recommend Handy Guys and would definitely be hiring from him again for other jobs!

Spoke to him on Thursday, AUG 5, and he volunteered to come give me an estimate at 8am the next morning. 8 am comes around and he doesn't show, not even a phone call from him. I waited until 8:30 and called him, no answer, then called back at 9:15 and left a message. He calls me back and gives me some excuse as to why he couldn't be here then apologized and said he'd be here at 10:30. Again, he was a no show but called me at 10:39 to confirm my address and said he was "almost there". Still waiting for him to show at 10:54 I called and told him not to come. Super unprofessional and unreliable. I can't imagine hiring this guy then worrying about if he's going to actually come do the job or not. Thanks for wasting my time, and I'm sorry you wasted your own.

He had all of the light/fan switches wired backwards. My lights were flashing on and off like I had strobe lights. The fan were flying and ready to take off, couldn't control any of it. The outlet he had no idea how to wire it and left it hanging out of the wall. Nothing was working. He left and had no idea where he disappeared to. He wants all the money upfront before doing anything, which is a big no no in Florida. You do not have to pay in advance. I had to hire another company to come out and redo the work he did. And paid almost as much as the first guy. Please do not hire this guy. Doesn't know what he is doing.
