My son ate every drop of his mango sorbet, and I loved the double stuff cookies and cream that I had. It was creamy, chocolately, and had the perfect level of sweetness- you can taste the quality and craft in their ice cream. I'm a sucker for coffee and ice cream together. Typically, the coffee you buy at an ice cream shop... well, it isn't the best. Magic Scoop, though? I bought a latte, and it was delicious. Strong coffee taste, smoothly steamed milk, A+. The service was friendly and efficient, and the counter staff were happy to provide ice cream samples and answer questions. The shop is a little on the pricier side (a little under $5 for a single scoop cup and $5.75 for a regular latte), but the quality is there. Discovered this cute gem through a quick yelp search when I had a craving for ice cream. I absolutely love this place for many reasons; it's cute and located in a nice park area of downtown and most importantly offers so many unique ice cream flavors. I'm a sucker for limited edition flavors so of course I had to try the "Steal My Sunshine" flavor special for the solar eclipse happening tomorrow. This consisted of a toasted black sesame with a cream cheese swirl which was very unique and tasty! With unique flavors like this I assume they make their own ice cream which is another huge plus. We browsed around the store and found some incense (lemongrass and eucalyptus) both as a mosquito repellent. This year I looked at my statements spent about for $476 I always go for ice cream & lavender honey latte so good! I asked the sweet gal to ask her manager if I could do the special but didn't see a dairy free option pint if I could get one from the bar & they declined. I have people coming over for the holiday who can't have dairy and I thought that's too bad that as a regular they couldn't make that one exception or actually have the decency to say "why yes actually I should have a dairy free option in the special. So instead of walking out with 8 pints this time ( bc the holiday) I walked out with 0 bc I couldn't believe it. The little girl was shook as well I couldn't tell she was embarrassed to tell me the answer. All the kids that work there are so friendly and I always give them a nice cash tip. The Magic Scoop and General Store is a gem in downtown Sulphur Springs, Texas. Their ice cream is homemade and is top-shelf. The have lots of toys, trinkets, and things that one would have found in Perry's, Duke and Ayers, and other dime stores of old. It is really fun browsing the store. I also had the opportunity to attend a birthday party at The Magic Scoop and General Store. There is an upstairs loft area that has booths, tables, and kids games. They didn't mix or dissolve the matcha properly, shouldn't have chunks in the bottom. It took two people to make it, and still it was undrinkable. Yes they offered to remake it again but we'd wasted so much time already we were running late. Saw their sign on hwy 30 on our drive from Waco Tx to Conway Arkansas and it looked like a place we should stop. We were not disappointed! Their homemade ice cream was wonderful! It is made right on the premises. The shop is so cute with all kinds of candies from my childhood and cute gift items. The girls said the store used to be a J C Penny store but it looked like a 5 and dime to me. If you are traveling that way definitely suggest you stop for a treat!
